Been using 4.3 SlimBean FW about 1 month++ and realize there is no app called Radio (believe its built in radio).. Anybody know how to solve it? Thx.
It's not there on AOSP&CM roms. Try spiritFM
If you used it over a month without realising there is no FM App... You really must have missed it. I second the recommended app above. SPIRIT FM. Try out the version here on XDA first.

Spirit FM is really great. Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059296

Hi everyone, I see that in Cyanogen rom 7 there's a FM Radio app that is part of the system (I think). I have a gingerbread Stock rom rooted and with the SU and quite satisfied with it, but i would like to have something similar like the FM radio app. So my question is: There's an FM Radio apk for gingerbread stock roms?? or this is something exclusive of the Cyanogen rom ?
Thank's in advance
Cheers
Unfortunately, the FM radio app requires changes deep within the system framework. So, without a custom ROM, the FM radio app cannot be used. Your only alternative is to use a streaming radio app.

My FM app does not require framework changes.
It "almost works" on most Nexus One ROMs, except for audio.
I have an experimental method that can get FM audio out directly to a Bluetooth headset, but the audio quality is awful.
I'm trying to determine if the FM audio path can be enabled on stock kernels.
I've installed the last stock ROM in my mother's Nexus One, and I finally achieved to run FM radio.
I used the last custom kernel from @intersectRaven (downloaded last version at http://intersectraven.euroskank.com/kernels/Nexus One/2.6.38.8/20120112_14XX/) and the old free SpiritUL application (I don't remember where I downloaded it).
At this moment, I only found an inconvenient: you can't use the radio and bluetooth at the same time, you need to turn off the radio and then turn on the bluetooth.
I hope this response can help some other users which are searching a solution for this problem as me.

Yeah, there might have been 1 or 2 now rather old versions of Spirit UL that were effectively released as free.
Newer versions can work with BT on, using an HCI/Bluedroid shim library, on 4.3+ AOSP ROMs with /system/lib/libbt-hci.so .
But you still can't get FM over BT on Nexus One.
Can anybody help me find my fm radio app for this awesome ICS stunner 5.0 please
The rom is awesome but I need my fm radio. Cant afford to use the radio streaming apps

I think you may be out of luck on this one. AFAIK, lots of users on various AOSP based Roms have tried this and that FM app, and none of those worked anywhere.
Hello everybody,
this beautiful roms doesn't support good old fm radio for some reason, is it possible to make it happen and how?
I'll try to load a titanium backup of the radio app from cm7.2 but doubt this will work.
I am sure many other folks want this so any ideas-help is much appreciated.
I already tried with the spirit app but I have no sound coming out (tuning & rds are working thought).
Same here...

Its a pity..these roms are great, but lacking fm radio is a big drawback at least for me.
We could find a way thought...
Have you tried loading a ti backup of the radio app from another ROM? This is not enough I think but its worth trying...I will as soon as I meet my brother(we have the same phone, different ROM)
It won't work I suppose.

These ROMs are based on ICS. Even on CM7, the app enables bluetooth (BT and FM are on the same chip) as we don't have the code related to the radio.
So for the moment there's no FM on ICS because ICS is too different from GB

Wiui 2.5.25 (which I am currently using) is based on cm7 which is based in GB, besides that and as you said already radio & Bluetooth are on the same ic so when you are using the fm receiver Bluetooth is enabled even on the stock rom.
This issue is not ics related.

If it was the lack of just the radio app I think installing an app like spirit should got the job done, anyway finding a solution is all I care about (not the reason they didn't implement it).
If someone actually knows what files are missing...it would be great to share some knowledge.
As I said before I'll try with a ti backup and let you know but something tells me there's more to it...
Hello, i use custom rom of gingerbread (XXJW4) with semaphore kernel and now i'm thinking about ICS or jelly bean. Are these versions stable and every functions of my I9000 will work? Could you recommend me any ROM + kernel? I don't know which one I should choose. I'm still not sure if i really need ICS or JB, but I want to change my actual ROM, because it isn't so stable. Actually what will change for me? I've installed go launcher so newer touchwiz will be probably unused.
Greetings
C-Rom Jelly bean and semaphore kernel

are you talking about this?
I have one more question.
I use 'hacked' camera and fm radio apks from this forum (without low battery lock and some other features). I can't imagine that I couldn't use camera below 15% of battery if my I9000 can still work for next few hours of awake. I can see these mods are builded for Froyo, GB, e.g.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=980835 Will I be able to use it with android 4.1?

Short answer, No
Although to be honest, I'm unsure if there is such a restriction in Cyanogenmod (the ROM I use).
CM10 is completely stable (despite there being no official "stable" release as yet).
Non-Samsung ROMs do not have Samsung Apps which include the FM Radio App.
As such, Cyanogenmod does not have FM radio support inbuilt, but you can install Spirit FM either the free version (restricted) from xda or paid, full version from the Play Store.
Skip ICS. The media bug in it is a pain in the **s. Really annoying.
All JB roms here are good, just check the correspondent OPs carefully.
thanks for your answers, so i will try this cyanogen10 JB, but earlier I have one more question
Is there any kernel for I9000 which implements the two-way-call-recording function?
I didn't see a call recording function since gb... Would be nice to know if that is still possible?
@alexri, i saw call-recording apps especially for i9000 only for Froyo. Do you know any good app for GB?
I tried many 'MIC recording apps' from google play, but in everyone when the recording starts my caller stops to hear me (in some apps it happens instantly, in others just in about 1st or 2nd second of call). I try also Total Recall and his 'strategies' of recording, but always the problem cames up. I think my ROM locks that function so this is the next reason of my looking for new soft.
Anyone using RemICS-ux on an I9000M? Every post I've seen suggests its close enough to the international version not to have issues.
RemICS uses the XXJVT modem. Should I use the KG3 modem if I flash it? Thanks.
Hi,
Plz suggest any stable & working Jelly Bean ROM with FM Radio.
Hello,
Is there a jelly bean rom with an fm radio app inside.

Thanks in advance

Hi there! so, if you have semaphore just download the semaphore manager app fron the play store, then enable the "radio fm" option.
After that, in the play store download the "fm radio" app
Use spirit FM, it's a paid app, but is you need it and don't want to pray for it on play store then just go ahead and download it from the internet for free: )

Thanks for the answers.
Do i need an special modem to get this started, because i've tried all of them, but no one is working
I think you missed what someone said earlier...
The semaphore kernel is controlled by the Semaphore Manager app.
In the app there is a page with an option to enable or disable FM Radio, when you have enabled, Spirit FM will work

Hi Guys,
I've tried this spirit fm, but it doesn't work.
Do i forget something?????
In the semaphore manager,i've put on the fm radio.
You need to change the settings inside spirit FM to I9000. You might get a warning saying that it kills the speaker, but I have used it for a year with no problem.
FM radio in semaphore manager is no longer necessary since SpiritFM already contains the necessary files since a few updates ago.
Hello everyone,
Thanx for the help.
I finally have figured it out and the radio is working.
I'm very pleased with it.:laugh::laugh:
