So guys I was bored and decided to make a KitKat Easter Egg Bootanimation for my phone so that I can flaunt KitKat in front of my friends while booting the device too.
I pretty much liked the outcome so thought of sharing it with all of you.
The size of the zip is big for a bootanimation (32mb) because all the images used are of full 1280x720 resolution. (Don't worry, I have scaled them down to 800x480 for the Nexus S)
Installation:
To install, simply copy the zip file to system/media and give the permissions as rw-r-r (ie 644)

The video doesn't look too good as it's just for 5 seconds. But believe me it looks fantastic as the bootanimation on the phone because I have looped it.

I went through the system dump I had and found the boot animation of the Droid RAZR. I installed it without modification and it was slow and laggy, I modified this bootanimation so it would load faster. (Drop every other frame, change 15 to 30 fps, use PNG instead of JPG)
It should also work well with WVGA screen sizes.

I updated it on my site. I don't have MIUI so I can't tell if it works or not.

hey tylerwatt12 i figured id let you know the MIUI version of this DOES work, and it works great. Just copy the .mtz to the /MIUI/themes/ folder and then go in and enable through MIUI themes, thanks for the sweet boot animation!

no if u click his download link at the top it brings up his website, there is an MIUI version in the list there. It is already a .mtz format, here is the link to it. http://www.tylerwatt12.com/XDA/d_razr/razr.mtz

I made a flash able zip for cm7 etc.
Compared to others, this is the truth. This is truly optimized for performance

I finished an awesome boot animation in After Effects resolution 480x800 @30 fps but my lack of developing skills stops me from making it a flashable zip. Could you give me any links? Thanks and sorry for a stupid thread

Use my tweaked nexus s boot animation file from link.
Download pull my boot animation file from zip and drag drop yours
Then flash threw CWM

I was checking out the long list of custom animation boot screens available at XDA
So resized the S3 boot animation to our ace..:silly:
All credits to XDA.
To install the boot animation,File browser method (Rooted devices only)
Connect your phone to your computer via USB and mount the storage card for file transfer.
Copy the bootanimation.zip file that you want to install, to your SD card.
Unmount USB storage and launch the root explorer of your choice on your phone.
With root explorer or any other app that allows you to get to /system/media copy the bootanimation .zip into /system/media (remember to mount R/W)
Rename to bootanimation.zip and set permissions to rw--r--r--
Should Look something like this

You must just have resized to resolution and changed the speed of image changing

it didn't worked on stock rom...
there is no bootanimation.zip file in system/media..
i googled abt bootanimation in samsung stock and i came to know that samsung uses .qmg types of file..so unfortunately bootanimation cannot b changed in samsung stock rom..
but it it cn be done on custom roms..
anyways great work bro...thanks for your work

Guys ,I have repacked four boot animations especially for users who usually get bored with their default boot-animations. These are all flashable zips. These can be flashed on any ROM AFAIK :
1) Nexus 7 Bootanimation
2) Spheres Bootanimation
3) Doughnut Bootanimation
4) SOKP RC-01 Bootanimation

Steps:
Download and Install the Boot Animations root by jRummy apps ==>Download
Download the bootanimation.zip file from below and place it in the sd card
open the app and then find your bootanimation.zip file
press and hold and click on install and voila its done
If this does not work then copy the .zip file and paste it in system>media>
If you like the bootanimation HIT THE THANKS BUTTON
