So, do you have wallet functionality on this phone with the new 4.4 GPe?
Quite interested!

I've gone to Google Support about this issue and supposedly this issue is being pushed over to development at Google. Still waiting to hear back from them. I have a Galaxy S3 on AT&T which also uses the NXP chip, but HCE support is missing from AOSP source for NXP chips. I've also created a ticket over on CyanogenMod's jira if you wish to follow along: jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-2935
Maybe they will add support themselves
Scouring around on the internet, I found another thread on this.. It appears that someone is going to have to decompile some JNI CPP, which is apparently a lot more difficult than some smali files.. So if you know anyone with this type of background it might help.

Since we don't have an N73G dev forum yet, I suggest that in this thread we post links to useful threads in the dev forum dealing with the 3G model.
no one, has one yet and for us to release a rom for it we need the gsm binary pulled from a device
A few of us have Nexus 3G's as of today.
That said, I've about as much clue how to pull a GSM binary off the thing as I have reading ancient mandarin.
Nonetheless there will be 3G specific dev threads. Even if it's only tweaks, guides etc. Some folks have their N73Gs in hand already.
There are plenty of devices out there that have plenty of dev threads even under incomplete circumstances.
Regarding the binaries to pull - would they be present in the stock N73G image Google posted?

Not for now.
However at some point in the future it may be possible to release universal ROMs that work on both. Just as there are universal GSM/CDMA ROMs available for Galaxy Nexus.
Some of the mods may work on both equally, but only if they do not touch any of the radio related files (and I'm sure a lot of files have radio info).

All that's needed is to build the ROM with the ril packages Google will provide once the 3g source files are posted if they haven't already,

Google has already stated that the cellular radio components are NOT going to be released to AOSP as long as licensing issues remain. Without source for the cellular stack, it's a lot more challenging.

Hi,
Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere on XDA, but I was just wondering if anyone has managed/tried to get Google wallet to work on our beloved HTC one?
Many thanks in advance for all feedback.
I've tried a few times with various firmware versions, and from what I gather unless you are on Sprint it seems rather futile.
Furthest I've gotten is with the modoco mod is the "setting up wallet, this could take 5 minutes." message, but nothing ever happens. I would love to get it working, so hopefully somebody figures it out.

I too am waiting to get wallet on the HTC One. Anyone have it?
I just got my htc one about half an hour ago as I'm waiting for it, I asked the same question. It can be done by pulling the nfc secure files from the sprint version, flashing that, then flashing the modoco mod. If you try without the libs then it won't work. I've learned this from the galaxy s3 forums. We need someone that knows how to pull the libs from the sprint htc one and make a flash able zip. And I think this is the wrong section for questions lol

how come it only works in the U.S? I was reading in the thread that they disable something in the phone so google doesnt know the phone is rooted etc?
The modaco method does not work. It comes with an insufficient privileges notification stating "insufficient secure element privileges for this system image (release-keys)" I really miss this app. I used it so much, was upset when i found out it only works for sprint.
I didn't get insufficient privileges, but it still would never setup. If you got yours to work in the U.S. krps, are you GSM or Sprint? And did you follow the instructions for modaco verbatim or did you do anything different?
Logcat shows no SMX found even on the google play experience device.

Sprint/HTC hasn't released or leaked a 4.2.2 version so those using 4.2 will end up with force close cycles from NFC. (I've tried every combination of libs)

I came from a Verizon galaxy nexus and of course I had root so I was able to get Google wallet installed. I used it very frequently and I seem to remember a. No root apk floating around out there, but it does not seem to work anymore. Has anyone had luck with Google wallet on their ultra?

No luck here
There's no secure element. You physically lack the hardware. Google's given up on Wallet for all intents and purposes.
Also being on a carrier that doesn't support wallet to begin with doesn't help.

Im not sure about that, isis initialized this phones secure element just fine. I think the nexus 7 lacks the secure element.
I believe the secure element is in the Sim card now. Not sure if Google Wallet could use that when/if we get root.

I don't have the NFC SE Sim as of Now, but today I ordered the NFC SE so as to hedge my bets when Isis starts to allow all credit/debit cards. I hate to go through this waiting game again. I was using Google wallet almost daily and it was one of my favorite gnex features.
That said Isis activated on my maxx without issue. And the isis site is a little confusing. It says it requires both an NFC se Sim and the phones NFC. But when using the app it says my phone was initialized just fine.

I had a Gnex with root and it was installed. Than one day it just gave me the unsupported carrier notification (not unsupported phone) and that was the end of that. They had to mail me a refund check.

There is a secure element still. When I set up ISIS wallet it specifically said it was programming the secure element.
And it works, I paid at McDonalds last night using it for the first time.

The SE is there, the libraries for controlling the built in one are not. The SE isis uses are a carrier controlled type running as an application on the sim.
I have the $150 promo code and am thinking of getting a MOTO X as a secondary phone. However, am I under the impression the DEV community is not jumping all over this phone based on the amount of threads/posts?
I also own a Nexus 5 which of course has tons of ongoing developmen but it has its quirks and issues, despite its low price point now being matched by MOTO X.
I would hate to buy the MOTO X as I notice very little development going on for a phone which has now been out for @ 3 months. I don't want VZW as I already have a primary VZW Dev Edition Galaxy S4 (whose development is now starting to thin thanks to Sammie locking it up for those not owning a dev edition).
Was thinking the GSM unlocked version was the way to go since I have a Straight Talk SIM.
Now that the MOTO X is more affordable with perhaps more owners, will dev pick up? Comments?
Custom roms that are cm based lose the Motorola fun stuff like active notification and touch less control. Also, most are finding you can customize almost anything cm like with xposed. Also we can't make custom kernels yet.... So there is not much need or demand for custom roms.

Thanks for the info! Not really a CM guy..more AOSP. But I do like exposed framework when needed. So it sounds like this phone is worth it right out of the box, i.e., fun factor. I would probably appreciate the option of not spending hours flashing, etc like I do on my N5/GS4.
I have a couple nandroid backups.... And mess around with xposed. Can do a lot with it. If there were a bunch of roms, I don't think I'd be flashing them anyway. Don't see the need. I think that's a common feeling.... So demand is very low for them.

down the road when we stop getting official Android updates.... That's when the custom roms will come in handy.

Devs will fix things, but right now, there's not much to fix, software-wise. If Motorola/Verizon stop updating the phone (I guess we don't have 4.2.2 yet, but sounds like it will be coming soon), then maybe it will pick up. I have the Vz Dev so I unlocked the bootloader (because it wipes everything on the phone, so I wanted to get that out of the way) and if I didn't need AdAway, WiFi tethering, and TiBu (I was shocked how many apps the non-root backup apps such as Helium can't do), I'd still be unrooted.
The stock android is great. Motorola just added a couple of useful apps the rest is AOSP. Xposed works great. This phone is a daily driver not a secondary phone trust me you won't regret it Android at its best.
Bit the bullet.. Ordered it and in process. Airjacket case was 50% off as well and I got $10 Google play credit and another 50gb of Google drive storage.

That is the code i used... you enter the code and it deducts the discounts for phone and accessories and upon process of the order and confirmation'a splash page appears with the Google credit and drive offer... Keep your eyes open as I almost missed it and closed the web page. you also get a confirmation email.

Is there a way to enable ART on stock rooted 24a via build.prop? If so what do we need to change?
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
Yeah, I've been scouring the web for this as well. I can't even find a decent guide to what all of the build.prop parts do, much less where ART is hiding.
Anyone out there know anything about this? I hope we don't have to wait for Android L to do this, because you know Verizon will be the last carrier to allow it.
I don't think all the LG legacy apps are compliant with ART, specifically quick remote, something to consider if you use it.
Yeah, there's that... Maybe we're better off waiting until LG updates the G2 to L, as ART will be the default.
And hopefully LG will use that as an opportunity to update their own apps.
