HTC vivid front housing and LCD assembly - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

Has anyone had good luck buying this assembly(front housing, glass and LCD) from a particular seller on eBay or elsewhere?
Lots of good/bad comments, just looking for some good feedback of where to get the assembly...
Thanks

Based on what I've seen you'll spend around $40 on eBay. I've seen a few complete working Vivids there and on craigslist at or under $100. I bought one with a bad charge port for $75, cost $10 and took about an hour to fix. Just a thought...
edit: just become aware that there is a seller that frequents this forum. Prices seem reasonable and helped the community by posting a repair guide. Should be worth something...

DON'T BUY! Loud speaker/ringer speaker seller CDMA Hero

After considerable searching, I found a site that sells speakers for our hero for $2 each.
http://www.wirelesspartsinc.com/herocdmasprint.aspx
The speaker is simple to replace. PM me if you need assistance.
UPDATE: Received the speakers today. They are crap! Dinged up, no plastic 'ring' on the front, no foam tape.. Definitely not "brand new" as advertised. Installed anyway. One worked poorly and the other was DOA! Called seller and got no satisfaction. DO NOT BUY!!!
Truly sorry for recommending before I received the product!!
Finally
My speaker has been blown for such a long time and I could not find ANYWHERE, not even ebay, where they sell replacement speakers.
Thank you sooooo much. I appreciate it.
Oh yea definitely do not buy. Its all crap. They gave me one ring and no foam tape. Both were basically DOA. But whatever, only 4 bucks plus shipping. Lesson learned.

[Q] Trusted sellers for a replacement flex cable and other parts?

My Nexus One power button recently died due to the well-known flex cable issue.
Unfortunately, I bought a new flex cable assembly from GadgetFix on ebay. The item was advertised as "Brand New OEM", but what I got was a very dirty, finger-print covered, taped-up, what looks like a cheap china knock-off part that I am going to have to throw in the trash. The 3.5mm headphone jack even has a bunch of lint in it still. The 90-degree bend where my part borke even looks worn, like it's ready to break already! WTF
Here is a link to where I bought mine. I can't recommend anyone buying their flex cables here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HTC-Desire-...861?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab1f7208d
Fortunately, it was only $16 wasted, but my time was more valuable to me. Now I need to buy from somewhere else.
My question is, does anyone recommend a trusted seller of good flex cables? I would prefer new and not refurb, and I am willing to pay for it.
The same goes for other Nexus One parts. I have owned by Nexus One for three years now, and I'm going to keep it going as long as I can. What an awesome phone.
Thanks in advance.
I bought another cable from another ebay buyer, "usmobileparts". They sent me the same thing... an obvious refurb. At least this one isn't as dirty and didn't have a broken audio jack, but it's still fraud because they are advertising the part as new instead of refurb.

I am okay with buying refurb parts if that's all I can get, but these guys are dishonest. That's pretty much what ebay is all about.

[Q] Nexus One housings on eBay?

Hi guys,
Just got my hands on a quite used N1 from my friend, and is thinking of replacing the full housing.
After looking at pictures on eBay and subsequently asking the sellers, I found that many of the housings on sale are fully plastic. I aware that the front frame of the N1 is metal, so I would like to ask you guys if you know anywhere (eBay or elsewhere) that sells the metal housing for a reasonable price?
Cheers

I saw a set of housings for sale on Amazon. You might wanna check it out

Thanks! But the one that appears at the top of the list shares the exact same photo as the one I inquired on eBay, which the seller said its made of "plastic-like synthetic material" the real metal ones that I found are either refurbished or carries an exorbital price (USD40+ for the front frame alone).

I have a at&t nexus one that I was going to sell body is in good shape ill do 60 shipped has desktop dock? Let meknow

That's a really good deal, I paid around $110 for a beat up one with dock, but that was 7+ months ago with 2 batteries, all accessories and box, still working perfect and its working great to this day. I'd like to get a replacement housing to paint flat black but I'm scared to take it apart.
Thanks for the offer, I really wants to get it, but I live a bit too far away, in New Zealand which might be hard for you to ship to. Guess I'll have to live with cheap plastic knockoffs...

Does engraving lower resale price?

I have a friend that is looking to sell his stock Verizon 32GB Moto X and is unsure what to ask. It is engraved and he's unsure of what he should ask for.
It's also including a tempered glass screen protector and case.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Swappa. Undercut whoever has a phone most similar to his by $10.

I have seen some on eBay with an engraving on it and that have sold. they were around the $200 price point though. There were some that were around the $250 but didn't end up selling and lowering the price. Although I did see one that sold for around $265 but it was brand new and the colors were also customized.
So if your friend is really keen on selling it, the $200 price point will do him good but it is a little on the cheap side. He can always have it at around $250 and hope for the best.
EDIT: Or like elpeterson said - swappa might give him the most money.
In any case, I hope that he gets a deal that he can walk away happy with.

Still recommended to fix Nexus 7?

Hey,
a little more than a half year my N7´s screen broke so i didn´t use my N7 for a long time. Would you still recommend me to fix my N7 for 55€ (about 69$)? I loved it so much and i still miss it for surfing and browsing amazon and so on. But i don´t know the community status? Are there still developers for it?
Sincerly,
Phil
It depends.I just bought a like new ,used Nexus 7 on EBay for $100. If you are saying the repair includes part and labor it might be worth it. If it just is the price of a new screen and you are going to repair it yourself you have to consider what your time is worth.
It's the Display unit only. I have to repair it myself. But the time is it worth but I don't know about the money. Is there any good alternative for just a little bit more or would you say the old Nexus 7 still got the power?
And other opinion?
For the price of the screen not many. Seeing we will be getting Lollypop, if you got the skills go for it.
The newer Nexus 7 (2013) version is going on swappa.com starting at about $145 for Mint condition.
If you can swing that, might be a good purchase, it has slightly better specs and form factor than the original Nexus 7 (imo).
There is definitely still a strong development community for the grouper though, i don't see it suddenly dying out anytime real soon.
So I think I made a decision. I repair it for around 40€. And maybe in the future I take a look at the N9. Would buy it instantly but it's not cheap at all with 32GB. But, dayum, that's an awesome tab.
I just did mine with a screen assembly off aliexpress I got for £26/€33. Took about 2 weeks to arrive and less than an hour to fit using a hair dryer, the included tools and a youtube guide. Cheap enough to be worth a go and its good to have it back.

Was it free shipping?? Link to the site pls... And what was included in the box?
Yeah, i thought about buying it at aliexpress.com but i don´t have one of their required payment methods.
btw here is the link (Display And yes, it´s free shipping.
I bought mine on ebay for 29€ (about 36$) because the display is already in germany. So i don´t have to pay any taxes or duty and my waiting time is only around 3-4 days!

Yes free shipping. Included tools are 2 mini screwdrivers, a spudger and a triangular thing like a guitar pick. No double sided tape, mine was fine but you may need some if you damage it.
