Sorry, but we dont allow "BEST ROM" threads. Each rom is unique and special in its own way, so our suggestion is for you to try some and see which rom YOU like and what works best for YOU. Remember, what works for you may not work for someone else... so go try them for yourself and see what you prefer.

Hi,
I am a new owner of a Nexus One, and I would like to install a new rom in it. Which one do you recomend?
Thnaks.
As enomther is gone (havn't read all the posts lately on his thread) I'm on cyanogen 7 RC4 currently (since 2 days) and I'm really pleased for now. Nothing that bad happened and I got most of the features I liked from enomthers rom. I'm not sure if it's right but it seems to me that cyanogen is currently the way to go (at least for me).
Maybe this thread isn't located right here, has nothing development related, general would be much better I think.
try this one http://www.evervolv.com/
great rom, fast, stable, works great for a day use without wonk
you can flash with it darktremor beta 4 and a new kernel from inetersecraven
Reading is your friend. And as far as time go try them till you find one you like. Simple.
Also wrong section. Should be in general. This has nothing to do with development.
If you want sense than use MODACOS Desire_port... of you want gingerbread use cyanogen rc 4! Very stable and fast!

Use MM HTC Desire HD v1.7 ROM, it is by far the smoothest ROM and the best UI using HTC Sense. The ROM can be further modded and tweaked to maximize your Nexus One.

The thread of MM is VERY confusing! Which is the neweset version, the 1.7 final or the 2.14? Is it based on desire or desireHD? Is it possible to get the stock look of htc sense? Is that ROM smoother than MoDaCos original desire port?
Stock ?
No-one prepared to stick up for stock Gingerbread ?
I am, was on custom ROMs all of last year but now dropped onto stock 2.3.3 & enjoying the speed, stability and features. You can always add themes and apps to change it around.
I am struggling with the Radio - it takes a long time to pick up the GPS signal, need to look for a Radio fix somewhere.

For Desire HD port, the v1.7 is Final and you can flash just that.
For the earlier Desire port (non-HD), the v2.16 is the final version.
Flashing either one will give you the stock look of HTC Sense by default (except for the 3G and battery icons) when you first boot into the ROM. The theme and skin is basically changeable, so you have choices of stock look or another theme/skin.
Yes, I have tried MoDaCos and ALL the other ROMs and have compared them for almost 1 week non-stop. The smoothness of Desire ported ROM cannot be beat. It may not be the fastest ROM, but it's very smooth and stable (and you get the beautiful HTC feel). One main thing I like about HTC Sense UI is that it's got many useful phone functions when you use it as a phone on a daily basis. Let's face it, the best smartphone should also act like the best phone. I am currently on MM Desire HD v1.7, and if you want the stock 3G & battery icons back, there is a guy that posted a modified framework-res.apk that can be flashed to get the stock icons back. Everything works in the ROM except for HTC Locations which I just cannot get to work. Built-in WiFi Hotspot does not work, but there is Wireless Tethering included in v1.7 which will provide you the same function. Also, make sure you flash 5.12 radio for the best signal performance.
Good luck!
So... you made me curious
So the Desire Port (2.16) is smoother than MoDaCos ROM and the desire HD port (1.7) is even smoother than the desire port (2.16)?
Do one have to create an ext-partition o sd-card?
The only thing that bothers me is that HTC Locations does not work

Hi,
The 5.12 radio isn't exclusive for Korean models?
Thanks.
hey guys, i have n1 (2.3.3).
So what is the best stable rom for a n1?
Thanks in advance.
I think you might install the latest Cyanogen Mod 7 if you wanna have stock Google experience, or, if you like Sense interface, you have different options:
- Try the RCmixHD, but is currently in testing;
- Install the eViL's Desire Rom (v1.26), based on the HTC Desire (so with Android 2.2);
- Install the eViL's Desire HD Rom (v1.1 beta) based on HTC Desire HD (always Android 2.2);
- Or try the MM's Rom which are 2, respectively better Desire Rom and Desire HD Rom!
Really, I don't know what ROM is better for our Nexus One, cos for example I really love to have Sense interface...
So I'm trying RCmixHD
Maybe you could have a look at MIUI rom...
A couple of threads below this, the same basic question was asked. Essentially, there isn't a "best" rom out there as everyone has their own preferences and tastes. What may be awesome for one person, may suck for someone else. (Prime example is Iperzampem0 and me... I personally don't like the Sense interface, where he loves it... that is the beauty of Android... pick what you like)

FAQ, question 1.
Hi Guys, which ROM you would go with, Nik Trinity or Android Revolution HD and why?
nik's rom is sense 3.5 with numerous customizations. mike's rom is sense 3.0 with little customizations (his goal is to keep the rom feeling as close to stock as possible).
I think it comes down to preference, really.
Thanks SYC, do you know if ORBOT works on Revolution, it is not working for me.
For the latest looks, nik's trinity rom. With the fast and stable, mike's arhd
Hope this helps.

I would go with nik's trinity rom because it has the latest sense 3.5. The rom is smooth and almost bug-free

Tried both, love Nik's...
Psyloid also posted a cleanup script for Nik's. Perfect ROM with the script in my opinion.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389845
Yeah,I think Nik's Rom is the best IncS Rom,and today he's gonna release some new stuff.

I know that orbot is not working on the dhd arhd so i'm assuming it's not working for the incs either.
Anyone here tried Virtuous Affinity?? I know its not in development temporarily, but its a smooth sense 3.5 experience. It is said to be faster than trinity because of less tweaks
Nik Trinity 2.5
+ Tron theme looks great!
+ Data connection speed is awesome.
+ many good tweaks -> thx to RCTweaks.
+ Sloppy auto brightness (RCTweaks)
+ Stable
- No HSDPA, only 3G almost everytime. But it not affect data speed at all.
- Battery life is better than stock rom, but not so great that HD 2.1.2 have.
Android Revolution HD 2.1.2
+ Great battery life.
+ Fast
+ Stable
- O/C values bug.
- Slower data speed than Nik's rom.
- No tweaks...can't get rid of that "unlock carousel"
- No sloppy's.
Now i'm using HD 2.1.2 with cooked battery percentage.
Nik's Rom has great battery life,it last about 1,5 days with normal usage (phone call, sms, web and play some game),for me that's enough
I'm using Lord's Kernel,smartassv2 gov with min 122 max 1228.
trinity
i been using trinity for my inc s the first versions had some bugs but it's deffinetly a great rom and it keeps getting better
nik is awesome..but
Mod, feel free to delete/move this thread if you found it useless.

This isn't new. It has its own thread that's been around for awhile now. Probably the reason why. They just go to the direct thread considering that's where to get it at and get support from. Not really sure why this is here.
looks pretty rad, but until it's available for the tab (and posted by someone who wrote the code...) it's totally wrong here.
As awesome as AROMA here, it isn't tablet optimized and we don't even have a touch recovery yet, so this is of no use to us.
I must say though... AROMA Installer made me forget I was in recovery on my other two HTC Phones :'D
Guys, just need small help, even though i am going through the threads and forums but will appreciate if someone can suggest me that which is best recovery, kernel and ROM for HTC Desire C. What i have come to know till now is that Revolution Sense 3.1 is better. Need suggestions please?
There is no "best" rom...
You looking for speed? Revolution super stripped
You looking for fluid transitions and a whole new look and feel? Xperialised sense
Looking for full featured, near aosp? Revolutionmod
I wouldn't use any other kernel than Prometheus, try to find a boot img that your device can handle....
And for a recovery you ought to go with twrp
Hit thanks I'd this helped

i prefer the revolution rom's out of all i have tried so far (currently running the revolutionmod ver 5) but the creator of that and a few others on here including myself are working all available free time to get a fully stable Cyanogen rom for the device
once cm is ported and operational keep your eyes peeled for the BlisteringNinjah roms i will be attempting to create XD xOxOxOx
Best Rom
Depends what kind of style you want. ive currently got M!U! which is a port of MIUI and so far its looking good but there others you can look at just go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1989 and look for threads with "ROM"
