Have you checked the radio frequencies your carriers run on? To be honest, it sounds like you're setting yourself up for a world of hurt and work for a phone that may work poorly, if at all on your local carriers.

First take a look at this thread. Htc one variants explained there.
Difference between htc one at&t (801n) and 801e is the modem chip. 801n support gsm/hspa/lte and 801e doen't support lte (only gsm/hspa)
Yes you can flash a stock rom for 801e on your at&t 801n but you will probably lose lte support. You aslo need s-off to change MID and CID

thank you for the reply . my main motive is getting updates ota .
And is 801n only for at&t ?! I mean what I am gonna buy is 801n at&t but unlocked with codes given by at&t , so i want to know still I will get the update when at&t will give as still the imei belonged to at&T ?!?! Or i will get the update normally like others and faster than at&t htc one's .

801n is not only for at&t, its a model code, not a CID
801n models are sold in the usa, canada, europe, midle est and africa for many carriers; At&t, Rogers, T-Mobile, Vergin, Telus, Bell, Google Play Edition, Developer Edition. Its the most common model of htc one.

When he says it unlocked with code given by AT&T he means its SIM unlocked which will allow you to use it with all carriers, not only At&t. The best way to check if this is true, is to test it with another sim card before you buy.

The IMEI# doesn't belong to at&t and isn't carrier specific. IMEI is for International Mobile Equipment Identity. Its a unique # generated by the phone manufacturer. If the phone is reported stolen, or it have unpaid bills, chance is that its IMEI# is black listed and you won't be able to connect to any carrier. So be sure it have a CLEAN IMEI before buying.

If the device still running the at&t software version with at&t CID, then you'll receive ota update from at&t. If you convert your phone to international wwe, or developer edition software then you'll receive ota faster. Converting your phone need s-off, cid change, sometimes hboot downgrade and mid change.
Hey guys, I have a sim unlocked s-off Sprint M8.
Yesterday I chose USA band accidentally through *#*#4636#*#*. I live in China, now I cannot find any signal with my WCDMA network.
I tried everything during the last 16 hours including flashing the Harman RUU, but it did not work.
Will a stock sprint radio flash solve my problem? I looked everywhere but could not find a stock radio for sprint M8:crying::crying::crying:

Flashing RUU will slove your problem as it have stock radio settings .
I was having same problem in sprint m8 .
The process i follow
Flash sprint RUU.
Go to DIAG MODE
connect phone to dfs .
Enable all 3g bands .
HiT Thanks if SomeBody Helps you..
I have a question and could find an answer, well maybe a few... First if you have an unlocked version of the m9 directly brought from HTC all updates come from them not any carriers? With that being said if you by a T-Mobile version and get an unlock code from them will updates still come from them or HTC?
Unlocking phone has nothing do with updates. If you have T-Mobile version doesn't matter if it's Sim locked or unlocked, updates still come from T-Mobile. If you want updates from HTC you have to buy the unlocked model or Dev edition directly from HTC site.

You can always use the SunShine app and change your device to any model you want.. including the developer edition and then you will get updates straight from HTC.

Thanks might just do that...is it an easy process?
hi can the T-Mobile Version be unlocked/Rooted?
hi i have an HTC M9 from T-mobile, i was checking the boot loader but it doesn't have the fast boot option, I've played around and i noticed that in download mode the fast boot command worked. so. i was wondering it can be unlocked or if T-mobile Locked it like the Xperia Z1s.
i watched a video on how to root it on "any variant" but theirs have been unlocked, i think they have Developers edition but now im wondering if its just mine that is locked.
yes can verify.. you can sim unlock device. travel a lot so need to be able to pop in a telcel chip. only snag is you need to flash a non-tmobile base rom first, Then it will ask for unlock sim code and your set. can leave it on non-tmobile base rom or like me reflash tmobile rom and your set. hope that helps

When you say a non tmobile base do you mean flash a custom rom onto the device? Thanks

Yes any custom rom not based on T-Mobile... There aren't any T-Mobile base roms except stock .. well that I know .. I installed viperone and was able to unlock sim with code . But then reflashed stock as I need Wi-Fi calling

Yes, sunshine will s-off your device. That will allow you to change cid and mid and turn your device into a dev edition or any other M9 released. Just note the radio/modem of your phone won't change. It won't gain support for other bands, but some may be disabled depending on the RUU you flash.
