Try to remove the settings.
Go to WiFi. tap the wifi your trying to connect to, select Forget.
Then try to re-enter the password.
If that fails try to restart router.
If that fails we will need more info.
Nothing is working, my sister has an iPhone and it works but for me it is stuck at authenticating then says disconnected because of poor connection but my router is right next to me.

I had this issue last week and was caused by the app Tasker. Are you using Tasker for any profile involving wifi?
I am using tasker but I don't think for any WiFi applications I will check and get back to you.

Do you by any chance have fast boot enabled?
If so disable that, power cycle the phone. Remove the current WiFI info by selecting Forget (from my original post) and then try it..
You can find the fastboot option under Settings > Power
Were there any changes to the wifi with KitKat?
I'm unable to connect to my home network. I get the "wifi is unavailable" notification and in the list the networks is "out of range" although the signal is excellent.
I've tried everything.
Changing channels, resetting the router, factory reset to my phone, changing various wifi parameters, trying to set a static IP.
I'm frustrated as I cannot connect to my own wifi, whereas I didn't have any problems prior to the update.

might worth a try disabling tasker and rebooting. Tasker seems to have issue with the M7 for some users. Every times I use tasker, I'm having this exact same issue with my wifi.
Fast boot isn't on and my tasker doesn't have any WiFi tasks.I'll try forgetting network again but I've done it a dozen times.

I've been having issues loading pagegs with the XDA-Developers app when I use it via wifi. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't. I'll get an error message that states "no route to host". If I open my browser I can access the web, but the app will only work again if I turn wifi off and then it on again. This will correct the issue for only a short while. I have no issue using the app via a 3g connection. Does anybody else have this issue with your hero using the app?

I get that error if I lose my wifi signal. It does not switch to 3G instantly. I usually just tap the wifi off and back on from my notification powerbar (or just off if I think I'm too far from my router). Wait a couple seconds and menu > refresh xda app.

No, xda-developers website works fine over wifi via the browser. I'm not sure what it really is. It could be a signal issue, but that doesn't explain why I can access data via the browser. Confusing... very confusing...
Does anybody else have this problem my vivid will lose signal on wifi then reconnect I'm on ics stock Rom and rooted

i dont...can we have some more details.. what apps do you have installed that may be messing with it.
Try this: Go to settings, wifi, advanced, and where it says, "keep wifi on during sleep", check always.

Happens to me too on Stock Velocity ICS Rom + root. Not sure why but I usually have to restart to fix it.
"keep wifi on during sleep" was already on as default too.
I had this exact problem when upgrading to ICS. It's not the phone, it's your router. In order to fix it you need to change from either mixmode or AES to TKIP. I spent hours fiddling with my phone and router before I figured it out.
Just remember to change any PC's you have to tkip as well. Windows 7 defaults to AES.

I also had a similar issue. I "forgot" my home router, rebooted and connected again and since had not had any issues.

I'm wondering if anyone running either cm 10 or Pac roms is having issues after a few weeks, of wifi attempting to connect then saying saved and doing that over and over again and not connecting. I know other people not necessarily using this phone have had this issue before but, I can't seem to find any solutions to the problem. I am currently running Pac all in one Rom and it was working great until today but, I have had these issues on cm 10 before and the only thing that seems to fix is to flash a new Rom and I like this one and don't want to re-flash.

I've been having this issue as well, again and again.. I've had about a 50/50 success rate with dirty flashing. Anyway, I believe the problem has something to do with the dhcp assigned ip addresses from the router. It's something on the phone side of it because changing dhcp settings, lease times etc., on the router have no effect. When you lose WiFi and it goes into that loop and won't connect, go into WiFi settings, and forget your network. Then select your network again and enable the advanced settings. Change from dhcp to static and then assign yourself a local IP. I have a Linksys router so I entered 192.168.1.8 . so I believe a netgear router would be 192.168.2.?? , the ?? or 8 being whatever is unused on your network. If you haven't already, enter your password and connect. I connected immediately after that. I understand this isn't really a "fix" because won't help you when trying to connect to networks that you can't assign your own IP, like say Starbucks or somewhere.. But hopefully this may point someone who knows more about this stuff in the right direction to actually fix whatever is off in the phone. Drivers maybe? Hope this helps!

Thank you for the explanation I tried a dirty flash and that solves it for about 12 hours. I am getting faster at flashing and restoring everything and am now flashing a new Rom every couple of days so it's not that big of a deal I'll just take it as a sign I should try a new Rom I'm now running the unofficial aokp Rom and I'm liking it next time it happens I'll just try another. Thanks for all the help glad to know the issue isn't because I've done something wrong.

Is there anyway to fix this issue yet?
@TTLayland said exactly what I'd say...static IP. I'll add the the Devs are working on updated WiFi drivers for the kernel. When that's ready hopefully that'll work for ya'll. I haven't had any WiFi issues for the past few weeks. Connected to my House, McD's, and the hospital.
Post the actual make & model of your router and I/we'll see what can be found for it.
Also, try setting the phone to 2.4 Ghz only...my old router was 2.4ghz and the auto setting would randomly kick me. New router broadcasts in both 5ghz and 2.4ghz, I connect to the 5ghz one and use auto without issue.

a lot of the times I have to log into my router and turn the security completely off and then log on with my phone get a connection and then log back into my router turn the security back on and then I'm good to go.
Kinda like the flashing back to ICS to get a GPS lock to work on custom jb ROM's

Ok, I didn't realize Devs were working on it. I have statics set for my home, but being a Network Admin I travel to many different networks and because of the way our network transverses settinig an ip is not an option as the same SSID is used for about 95 different sites. So DHCP is a must.
I just thought it was strange that the Carbon rom I am using was working for about 2 weeks correctly then stopped connecting, sometimes a reboot will get it to connect.
Thanks.
I wish it would work I just gave up on wifi on ahd if using custom rom

I accidently turned off my browser bar when a pop-up intruded an email I was typing. I have no idea what the browser bar setting is but I cannot connect to any wifi network now. So I open up settings and clicked on the browser bar tab and it fc's settings every time. I tried a reboot, and clearing cache in recovery but it still won't let me turn the browser bar on. Any ideas here?
Not that I was at all impressed with the wifi capabilities on this device. My connectivity has been nothing short of pathetic and I've followed every rumored fix to no avail. I think I'm ready to try a factory data reset before my 14 days are up.
Again, any help is appreciated.

It's very strange that the browser bar would have any effect on wifi connectivity to begin with. I've had it disabled for a while and haven't had any wifi problems.
Samsung has a bunch of performance/bug issues they seriously need to iron out. It's almost like they don't beta test these devices before they churn them out.
I'm currently roaming and for some reason I can't find any ssid networks when I scan to show up. I can't find any answers anywhere.

Well I guess lets go through the basics first...Are you sure that WiFi is on? Have you restarted your phone? Have you performed a factory reset?
Are the ssid's your searching for "hidden" ssid's?
If I set my home Wi-Fi router to broadcast ssid, I see it. If I set it to hidden, I can't see it.
This is a known problem. I have it; I thought it was my fault for deleting too many apk's. Then a girl came along with unrooted stock phone and said she had it.
use app from play store to temporarily fix problem
