now...can anyone make a system dump of the phone, as im still rooting mine and tinkering with recovery?
Thanks guys. lets get the ball rolling.
BTW if anyone is interested in donating some cash to Rashed to hook him up with the device, its around 150 bucks as of now off contract. please contact him and let him know. Thanks :good:

By the way, just a bit about me if anyone is wondering who the heck i am.
Im an experienced hacker and app developer for android devices. For the past 2 years i have been using the very problematic LG Thrive, which takes more work to make the roms work, than to bring the moon down to earth! My device is almost dead so i bought the HTC First. Ive been rooting and hacking android devices for many people including teachers at school and friends.
This is a totaly new device for me, and is a bit more complicated to root. Im going to try super one click on it ad see how it goes, or maybe z4root. Because i really dont feel like unlocking the darn bootloader and doing everything manually. As soon as i get it all done i will be posting a tutorial on my blog and here on xda for the new comers. Thats just what i usualy do.
Thanks for accepting me into your community guys.

I'm not that fast, but this phone isn't that complicated, so yes I might have one for you to test tonight.

The kernel is done, I'll push that to GitHub in a few min. It's gonna be 3.4.49
Now the device folders and vendor stuff. I'll probably end up building it tomorrow.
All the repos for this project are here: https://github.com/htc-first
Once I'm done with it all, I'll see if CM will be willing to accept it and make it an officially maintained device.

hey rashed...um let me know your address since i live near by, i could come bye once my car is out of the darn repair shop and you can use the actualy device...the car will be fixed in about 2-3 weeks, some chick totaled her car on my cars ass! haha

I'm running a test build now with the files I pulled from another developer's repos. I know it's gonna need a ton of work but if it actually builds and boots then there won't be much left to do.

sounds good Rashed

Hi Rashed, We all LG-P500 community badly missing you right now. We are not able to flash Kitkat ROM by jenkins as old CWM and TWRP recoveries not supporting this. Please help : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432968&page=34

The thing is, the lg oo can't run 4.4. Ever. Kit Kat requires alot more ram than our phones have. That's why miui v5 won't work and stuff. So time to move on to another phone. Get one cheap brand new from cellularcountry.com

i found another correlation with the HTC One Mini and the HTC First
the Snapdragon 400 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)#Snapdragon_400
take a look at the screenshot attached here.
1. this means we are capable of overclock beyond 1.7 GHz, so 2 ghz could be possible
2. that means if anything we can just use drivers from the Mini if anything
3. not only can we port cm from the mini, but we could probably port sense 5 as well, and very very successfully integrate the two giving cm a sense 5 skin.

im not sure if there would be alot of demand for a sense 5 skinned cm rom, but i guess its something new. oh and JMZ's kernel allows the htc first to overclock upto 1.7Ghz, if you're into that, i think the phone is snappy enough as is.

Yeah sense 5 would be eww, sense 4 already uses 15% more ram than stock rom imagine sense 5 lol

I'd be willing to donate some money via paypal, you should post your email so people interested could help you get your hands on a first. They go for bargain bin prices on ebay.

New Motorola MOTOBlur UI

Does anyone know if there is a leak of the new MotoBlur UI or rom? or if it's even possible to port to the G1? ... I know it was just annouced but there isn't a section for it and i wouldn't mind having some of the widgets and or features that have already been shown. Does anyone have any additional info on this besides what's already been released my motorola today?

i figured it would work in either section but it is development based b/c it is a new UI that hasn't been seen ... I was more or less tryin to spark interest into this.
Just in case someone didn't know, here some info http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/10/live-from-motorolas-android-announcement-at-mobilize-09/
Looks awesome, but i think the device only has the qualcomm ~550MHz cpu..
Waiting for the Motorola Sholes with Snapdragon, whoooo
As long as it runs on the Qualcomm architecture that the Dream/Magic/Hero etc. run on, there's no reason why it could not be ported to the Dream. Once it comes out, that is.
this will probably take months before its leaked and weeks before its usable

Hero STILL doesn't have bluetooth, based on past results, it's very very hard to port this stuff over in a usable manner. The devs are the best, but if we still don't have Hero working, what are the odds of us getting this one anytime soon?

I'd say there's a high chance of getting a full working version of "MOTOBLUR" on the G1 before a working version of Sense UI.
Of course nobody can comment before the phone/rom is released but at first glance it doesn't look like the core of android has been edited much, if at all. It's simply the stock android home screen with 2 extra shortcuts at the bottom and some new widgets.
Even the calendar app has remained the same.
http://www.t-mobile.com/promotions/GenericRegular.aspx?PAsset=Pro_Pro_MotoCliqLaunch&WT.mc_id=637m3
go to this page and click on the MotoBlur Demo link on the right hand side to get
a full demo of the UI.
I like the fact that your "inbox" contains messages/gmails/fbook messages all in one list.
And it has the same screen res and 528mhz processor as the g1 so it shouldn't be too much work to get it on there. This is way more exciting than hero, cuz the hero roms are so slow

agreed i love the universal inbox as well as the Happenings screen/widget. even if that was all we got, i would be happy lol
what people need to realize is that its not about what official rom we want.. its what from each rom we want.. cause with the way devs keep taking things from all the new roms and putting into current ones.. all we need is to take the best from each and make one bomb rom..lol

devs havent got bluetooth to work cuz the hero source code is closed source. if motorola keeps the source code for the blur UI open, then devs have
all around access to not only port the build but framework, bluetooth, led's,etc.
i hope we get a system dump soon this UI looks real good.. i dont like all the colors but im sure manups work'll take care of all that

DFT TEAM has Android working on Nand PRO2

DFT team has released a video of Android running on nand pro2
RHO's CPU is too slow and screen resolution too high for sense, so we decide to make pure Android ROM based on Android 2.2
youtube.com/watch?v=yOGnQ3D5IDk
wow
hey , sound good,
i hope working an topaz,too
i think they both phones have similar technical data.
i dont understand why cpu is to slow, lenin reds built with sense
run much more faster from sdcard than this nand built ????
btw good work from the DFT Team , thx
hello there. let's hope topaz, aka touch diamond2, wont be forgotten.
I'll be willing to pay for good working rom
sounds promising
waiting for more updates
Hopefully it will be working on our phones as well.
BTW, one of the comments said to be using Neopeek's android roms. Can someone post a link, I must have missed them.

I just hate pure android and sense in android rocks!!
I also don't understand this because i have lenin build and it's fasttt from sdcard!!!
Shouldn't be even faster from nand??
Anyway thanks for all who make this possible even if it no feet my needs!!

AFAIK nand is not faster than sd-method. But it would allow you too get rid off winmo.
actually guys, your phone won't improve that much after NAND. believe me i'm hd2 user and i have used android since first versions based off xdandroid..
as far as speed goes, read/write is actually faster on sdcard!
only andvantage of nand is stability and power consumption, ofcourse after all quirks are polished.
qc's 528 msm's are too slow to run sense well. it can get slow even on 1ghz. wvga is too much to handle, and sense is very ram sensitive! maybe if someone could get it upscaled from hvga, but in that case it would be streched..
i also own both diamonds(I and II) and i would love to see winmo gone. but on good port like leo(feels like native device) we had advantage of few devices with same components built in and much work being already done, and i do not see wvga android with small screen and 528mhz released by htc.
i'm just being realistic here, not mean or anything else.
1 - Topaz is very small mobile phone. I am don't wants to use such big phone like HD2.
2 - Battary life in topaz is more longer
3 - It have smaler screan and that is why it is more clear.

you misunderstood my post, i'm just tryin to say how thing are and hd2 was best example i could think of. i like my diamonds very much. first gen was really awesome on looks, but low on hardware(slow and small ram..etc).

It was closed-source, and I don't believe they ever made a public release. Since none of the code is available to the public, no other dev can pickup where they left off...
Crappy model to go with. Were still pushing forward with NAND using open source concepts, and RHOD is getting there (just very slowly). I'm hoping each device will have at least one dev that will step up and get the dirty work done to look towards NAND on all devices... but that hasn't happened yet. There's not even that much (developer) steam behind NAND on RHOD...

Help with port

I realize that miui was tested before but failed because it was not built for an armv6 processor but recently miui was ported (nearly complete) to the galaxy 3. Our phone and this phone are very equal in specs so I was wondering if someone would take a look at it and try to work on it, or at least let me know how to port.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133741
Seriously the developers left for the hero barely keep up with projects they do have. I applaud the effort but the time for heros has gone.
Actually once a release is seen in that forum I'm gonna be on that thing trying to port it.

HTC Tattoo and CM9?

So CM7 was a stellar success for our tiny lil device called Tattoo.
Now that CM7 is over, we'll are eagerly waiting for CM9. I posted this thread to know if Tattoo is going to be supported in the CM9 builds. If anyone of you has an idea of what is going on, you can reply here. Also you can use this thread for dev purposes.
Others here, you can list out what features you want to see on out Tattoos running CM9. This can come of great help to the devs until the actual thread comes up.
So when many devices have got early CM9 builds, why not us? arco68 and KalimochoAz, you there?
The CyanogenMod team already announced that one phone which will not get the upgrade is the Motorola Droid because of it's outdated hardware. You know, Droid is really similar to Tattoo specwise. Same CPU specs, same RAM amount, same internal memory.....
You draw the conclusions.
pretty bleak future for us indeed. but the hero and the G1 are running early builds of it already. so if G1 can do, why not Tattoo?

This blog post pretty much confirms that we won't be getting CM9.
Our goal is to provide continued support to all CM7 devices back to the QSD8250 series of devices such as the Nexus One.

Our device is MUCH less-powerful than the QSD8250, which is a 1.0-1.2GHz CPU and Adreno 200 GPU System-on-a-Chip.
if that is true, wildfire wont get it too.
My guess it it will run. But should be optimized heavily for a smooth experience.
Sent from my HTC Tattoo using XDA App
I'm afraid the low resolution will be the show stopper there.
Maybe possible but it will be light version of ICS a few of the ingredients may be removed.
The screen is 2.8" n this is maybe the drawback...
I have installed ICS on G1. Its horrible ROM, Very Laggy and still needs lot of development for smoother experience. They haven't fixed the rotation problems yet. It looks to me Tatto0 will have a hard time with CM 9 because of its lower quality hardwares.
Tattoo is a 2 years old phone
Once we made it 2.1/2.2
It great already
And now we even have 2.3
What are we still asking for
As google told before
4.0is for high end
So let's enjoy the extra bonus that we get

Hey all,
If no-one is looking at porting CM9 to Tattoo, I could have an indicative look at doing it; no promises though; as I am doing it for HD2 at the moment, where I am spending all my time
I may have a go in a few days.
Although I may need some assistance with drivers and kernel later on

Update on compilation
Hi all,
Everything I do is all open, so you will see what I have done; this also gives others the chance to contribute
If someone wants to see my progress, then you can go to the following git repo
https://github.com/arif-ali/android_device_htc_click
and when I have a build it will be located here
http://cyanogenmod.arif-ali.co.uk/rom/test
So far quite a bit compiles, working on the wpa_supplicant part now. Looks like it may be a hack or need to look somewhere else.
I've had the Tattoo for 2 years now, but don't really know the HW much, so much research will be required. I've just installed nfinityGB, as and when arco built it.
If someone can give any input, it may speed up my work; and it will be appreciated.
Edit 1:
* Got passed the wifi, just got the drivers from gingerbread (for my notes)
Code:
cd system/wlan
git clone git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_system_wlan_ti.git -b gingerbread
mv android_system_wlan_ti ti
sed -i s/LOCAL_MODULE_TAGS.*/LOCAL_MODULE_TAGS\ :=\ optional/g system/wlan/ti/sta_dk_4_0_4_32/config/Android.mk
* Need http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20737947&postcount=27 for compilation as well
Code:
unzip ../webrtc.zip -d external/webrtc/
Edit 2:
Good News; first compile done.
Bad News; it's 4am in the morning, and I can't be bothered to test
I have no idea if it is going to work or not, and if someone is really adventurous, then feel free to try flashing the file from the following URL in about 20 mins i.e. better to try 04:30 GMT to be on the safe side
http://cyanogenmod.arif-ali.co.uk/rom/test/update-cm9-click-20120101.zip
system is going to be 162M, and gapps can be downloaded from http://cyanogenmod.arif-ali.co.uk/misc/gapps-ics-20111128.zip
Personally, I won't be able to test until tomorrow now
Edit 3:

If you need aosp then why did you get a G4 to begin with?
Just as an FYI, I plan on making an AOSPish rom based on stock, but will the system will be gutted to just framework and needed basics. It will prob exceed AOSP performance and will also have everything working unlike real AOSP builds that always have bugs and only basic drivers which don't allow camera and other system parts take advantage of proprietary drivers and hardware. I'm getting closer to finishing it and will update more through next week's. I know you want true AOSP and Recovery, but we have a locked boot loader and blown q fuse which makes it unbearable to hack.

@Agimax, I see you have on your signature that you're running UltraPOP V1.50 HiPerf.
Will you be releasing this to us mere mortals?

Yes, he will. Myself and a few others are beta testing it (it's awesome ) and then he will release in the next few days I'm guessing (I don't want to speak for him just guessing based on previous releases.
Excellent! Looking forward to trying it out. So far all other versions have been outstanding.

Yep, you will have it tomorrow if no bad reports come back from the testers. So far i have only received great feedback. The two large 1.8 ghz cores are underclocked to 864 mhz, but it feels like the phone is overclocked due to the touchboost / ondemand governor tweak combinations. I think you will all enjoy it, i still can't believe the difference, like night and day from 1.42. So damn snappy!

I might be bending a forum rule by posting somewhat off-topic in this thread, but I just wanted to post that I am very much in support of a project like the one you describe, for exactly the reasons you describe. One of my favorite ROMs in the past was Bareback for the EVO 4G LTE, a stripped down Sense ROM -- light and speedy, but with the HTC drivers needed to make the camera on that device still look good.
TWRP for the Sprint LG G4 could only improve development for everyone, though, so I'm in fully in favor of that, too (boom, back on topic.)
Hopefully we will get a boot loader unlock. But a TWRP build for us would be good.

Nothing is going to happen until you can flash a new kernel/recovery - or has that been resolved now?
G4 is currently in works for CM and if we can ever flash a kernel/recovery I'll jump in and help too.

Agimax you have done a lot of work for us, and I will be donating to you very soon. Waiting on school money in 3 weeks. (approx the 4th week of june I pledge you 25$. Your roms are a great improvement and whenever I have problems you answer me. It is greatly appreciated and I am sorry I have not donated to you sooner. The bounty will continue for anyone else who can contribute to this piece of junk with an amazing camera....I encourage others to raise my bounty.
off topic if anyone wants to trade me a sprint galaxy s5 or equivalent HTC for my lg g4.........
