[Q] Boot Loop D: - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hello friends, I'm new here. The name's Jay. I hope to make good acquaintances here
Now for my problem: my One is stuck on a boot loop. It boots fine into the bootloader and recovery. I tried using the 1.29 RUU and the latest RUU (version 3.x) but still after a few mintues of booting into the OS it would restart. I've tried factory reseting and wiping the caches but no cigar.
Some back story: I originally had the phone rooted but with stock ROM and bootloader (using CWM recovery). All was good until one day my phone was not getting any service (there was an x on the signal indicator). I tried restarting my phone and thats when the boot loop started. I, ofcourse, backed everything up via adb (so no problem there) then tried resseting, changing ROMs (cyannagem) and it still rebooted a few minutes after the OS loads. On the sprint ROM, it always says system is unresponsive and it crashes.
Is my phone dead for good?

Phone is not dead for sure.
Which os were you on? Did your father get 4.3 update?
Hboot version?
Does ruu go through completely. If not check drivers

IWhen i brought the phone (July 2013) HBOOT was on 1.4x (something close) and i think 4.2.2 android. That rooted fine, until i had the boot problem. After trying the latest RUU 3.x (and it did go through all the way both the 1.29 ruu and 3.x) HBOOT is now at 1.5x and android is (i think) at 4.3 (it doesn't stay on lopng enough for me to check the andoid version).

Boot into Bootloader mode by using power button and volume down key.
Install drivers for HTC one on a different computer. HTC should show as MyHTC in device manager.
Then close all other programs on the computer and run 3.04.651.2 RUU from here
Good Luck.

Phone is essentially bricked

Okay, I have the HTC One for Sprint. I flashed it using TWRP 2.5 and I can only currently access the bootloader.
I accidentally wiped everything off my phone and when I plug it in my computer sometimes recognizes it has HTCONE or as Android Device, either way I cannot send files over using adb sideload. Gives me the error that there is no device.
Currently my device somehow also got "unrooted" in the process. I am looking at the phone not being able to transfer any roms I want over to install a new OS nor can I restore it to the old OS.
Is there anything I can do?
PS: I did install the drivers and other devices. If someone can please help me even over teamviewer it would absolutely make my day. I have been troubleshooting this device for about 30 hours straight now.
Since you can access bootloader, you'll probably be ok..
What happens when you try to access recovery?
what happens in "fastboot usb" in your bootloader when you command
Code:
fastboot devices
If your device shows just do
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery.img
Download one of these recoveries (since you have the Sprint version) <- this will get you into recovery if you're not already able to access it..

Well I have the recovery since thats the only one I can access. Thing is though neither of my computers can recognize the device and I cannot send the rom necessary to boot the OS.
I can access the Bootloader and I can access the Recovery. I cannot access the memory on the phone in order to send files over
Have you tried flashing the RUU? Hopefully this can help:

important part is getting the phone working again then worry about unlocking bootloader
Can always try flashing a custom ROM using an OTG cable if you've wiped the OS. I always wipe my storage and OS when I do a clean install and then flash the ROM straight from my flash drive ... Obviously you'll need to fastboot a custom recovery, if you are able to.

im going to try the method you linked me
When you're in recovery do adb devices. If it shows your phone you can sideload a ROM.
AT&T HTC One
GPe 4.3
hi bro, that happened to me as well, i have installed usb driver but adb cannot detect my device. I was running windows 8 that time but when i used windows 7 adb was able to detect my device with no issues and i was able to transfer custom rom zip file to it. I dont know if that could help you but i'm just sharing my experience.

I can access the bootloader and the recovery (switched to PhilZ touch) and sideloaded a couple roms but NONE of them work. One of the roms boots up and goes in a restart loop after hitting the front page (no icons on the screen just top bar) Even the stock version of htc one for sprint didn't work it kept resetting my device.
I tried using the RUU also but it gives me a bootloader error saying it cannot be restored after a few minutes of loading.
Well every rom so far attempted has been a dead end. CM, AOKP, all have booted and started a restart loop. I am not sure if its my kernal or anything else.
I just need some help. What I did notice is that even if the devices were working I had no cell signal. Someone please help lol

[Q] Stuck while Flashing

I got my HTC One for 8 months now, i unlocked and flashed it with Andoird Reolution HD 12.0 back then, now as i wanted to perorm an update to 52.0 i tried to do it as usual, download the zip moved it to the "SD"-Card of the Phone and installed it via Clockwerkmod (latest Version). As the installation was complete i wanted to reboot the device and now im stuck in loading screen. If I turn the Phone off i can press recovery in the bootloader menu but it doesnt load in to Clockwerkmod. Does somebody have a solution to this Problem? What happens if I just perform a factory reset in the Bootloader?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: i tried to flash the recovery manually using fastboot while using the manual from androidforums (cant post the actual link as im new to xda)
I followed the steps but now im stuck in cmd where its searching for devices, but it wont find one. as my phone is ****ed up and i dont have a working OS i did not turn off the Fastboot option in the settings. Is this the reason why its not working? Appreciate any ideas. :S

I'm not sure about CWM, but I know you need the latest versions of TWRP to work with KitKAt Roms. If you can get fastboot getvar all to work pls post so we can see where the phone is at.
If it's searching for devices, try removing and reinstalling the htc sync drivers. Get the newest version as well.

HTC Boot Loop Flip Out

Aight. I got me a Rooted, S-OFF HTC One rocking the most recent stock OS (can't remember which and my phone is jacked so I can't check) and twrp v2.6.3.0
Yesterday I reset my phone via the power button to clear the cache. I do this at least once a week because, well, it's a good idea right?
Wrong.
It went into a boot loop. It was weird. It would boot up and work for about 10 seconds, then reboot. Even if I caught it in time to fully shut off, it would do so. But if I went to HBoot or TWRP it wouldn't reboot. OK. Let's factory reset via TWRP, restore via Titanium, and all good.
That is until just now it flipped out after and is now in consta boot loop. Can't get into recovery, can't make it turn off, it just loads up and keeps telling me how Google Services have stopped working and then reboots again. I can get the power off function to come up but all it does is reboot again. Advice? Maybe I need to give you more info? I would have more for you but in the process of getting it off my phone to ask about the first occurrence yesterday is when it started flipping out just now.
Please, any advice at all would be fantastic.
Now I got it to stop boot looping, but my homescreen is nonexistent, can only go into stuff that is in the pull down task bar, no app tray, and the power off function still just reboots. And when it reboots, it doesn't even give me the splash pages. Just five seconds later it's back.

can you please reboot in bootloader mode and post the output of ''fastboot getvar all'' (except imei/serialno) and also post a pic of bootloader screen.
btw your twrp version is outdated, latest version is 2.7.1.1.however we recommend using 2.6.3.3 or 2.6.3.4
with your phone s-off, you should consider restoring it with a fresh install using a ruu.
do you have files to backup or you are ok with loosing all data currently on your phone?
All right, I am new to rooting and s-off and all of this. First phone I've done it to, so forgive me if I ask stupid question...

What does that mean? If by bootloader you mean when you press Vol Dwn and Pwr to get the screen that I've posted an image of...then I don't have anything there about getvar all.
How would RUU work?
And I've yet to figure out how to update TWRP, tho I haven't looked that one up yet. I am sure I could figure it out just fine. I've got this far, lol.
I fact reset my phone again, and it is working...for now. But I don't trust it to not freak out a third time. Am backing up all files to my PC as we speak.

You need adb and fastboot installed on your computer + htc drivers
then use fastboot to do this command when phone is in bootloader:

ruu restore the entire phone to stock, including software and firmware. this wipe all your data. with s-on you can only flash ruu same of higher version currently on your phone (i.e 4.18.502.7) with bootloader locked or re-locked. with s-off you can flash ruu lower or higher version, with bootloader unlocked, locked or re-locked.
And I've yet to figure out how to update TWRP, tho I haven't looked that one up yet. I am sure I could figure it out just fine. I've got this far, lol.

you also need fastboot to update twrp, however if you choose to restore using a ruu, no need to update twrp, it will be wiped by the ruu anyway.

you should also try this using fastboot in bootloader:
Code:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
well you said in your first post that your phone was S-OFF but from what I see from the picture you have posted (yes this is the bootloader btw) your phone is S-ON. fortunately, there is a 4.18.502.7 ruu, so you should not need s-off.
oh and you also said you were running the most recent stock rom, but 4.18.502.7 isnt the most recent. most recent version for your phone is 5.12.502.2

bootloader bricked. Ruu Failed. Need HELP!!!

Hi guys,
I am feeling quite panicked right now since I flash the wrong firmware (lower version) which leads me to failed RUU "Too many links" and then when i reboot to bootloader it constantly boot into four triangles and unable to fastboot oem rebootRUU at all to reflash and my bootloader are in a messed.
I have the same exact problem as this guy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459221 but i don't really understand to solve the problem as i'm not an expertise in this type of problem.
I can still access my phone by manually using "Fastboot oem boot" but other than that i can't power up my phone or boot into bootloader as i have four triangles in each edge of my phone and orange-colored "RUU". I cant flash any rom or firmware or going into my TWRP.
My Phone is S-OFF and Unlocked bootloader.
Here's My partition 19 if needed to solve this issue.
Help me please !

First before sending you the modified misc partition, can you please tell us what you have flashed exactly (provide link) and more info about your devices (fastboot getvar all) or at least your CID, MID, Version number you was on before flashing?
I see in your misc partition that the RUU flag is indeed active.
---------- Post added at 04:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 PM ----------
however here it is: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/77459918/p19noRUUflag.img
Code:
fastboot oem boot
then copy the file to the root of your sdcard or you can push it using
Code:
adb push p19noRUUflag.img /sdcard
then to restore it to your misc partition
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/p19noRUUflag.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19
exit
adb reboot-bootloader
and then flash your RUU.zip and make sure to flash it correctly.
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip name_of_ruu.zip
fastboot flash zip name_of_ruu.zip
fastboot reboot
Don't know what ruu you need, if you need help choosing one then post your "fasboot getvar all".
And be very very careful with the "dd" command. If you make a typo, you can brick your phone foor good (writing to the wrong parititon)
IT WORKED !! My Bootloader went back to normal !!! You are a savior and making my day better
Thanks !! Your explanations are really clear and very easy to understand that i able to follow all the steps correctly with ease : )
Well I was using ARHD 71.1 and planning to dirty flash to ARHD 90.0 if possible. Then I was using 5.x.401.x firmware that was used in ARHD 71.1. I have seen that the new ARHD 90.0 are using the latest 7.15.401.1 so i flash to that firmware directly before I plan to install the ROM. And I forgot to place the ROM to the SDCard which then requries me to boot to the O.S in order to access the storage. Then suddenly when i restart my phone, My Phone soft bricked where the phone is stuck at black screen constantly while usually the phone should properly goes to the "HTC One" Phrase and then goes to the O.S but in my case, It first boot into the htc green logo and after a while the screen goes black screen.
I thought the firmware is incompatible with my arhd 71.1 so i downgrade it again 5.x.401.x and then while updating the RUU, I receive "Failed : Too many Links" which quite made my worried so I restart the phone to try if downgrading to the older firmware would fix the issue. But then, the "Four Triangle" issue rise.
I am grateful that you have solve my issue regarding this matter and I cannot be more happier than this that everything went back to normal. Thank You So Much! :good: You are the best !

Stuck on Hboot: freeze when selecting fastboot/recovery/reset

Hi,
Today my htc one got stuck in a boot loop. now it just freezes on the white startup screen. So i figured I try to factory reset. But when I enter Hboot and select factory reset the phone just freezes up.
I then tried recovery and fastboot options but the same thing happens: the phone just freezes up.
I have not rooted my phone. It is stock ROM and the bootloader is still locked. I also dont know if usb debugging is on, I dont thiks it is.
Also my computer does not recognize my phone. I installed HTC sync for the drivers (I have windows 8 if that matters)
I also installed "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" in order to try to unluck the bootloader but since I cant access fastboot and because my computer doesn't recognize the phone I am not able to do this.
Please help me... I really don't want to buy another phone just yet.
What is my next step?
I'm here ask help exactly for the same problem.
But differently mine can be detected by the computer. The problem caused by flashed a RUU not completely. The bootloader is relocked by myself. Others is just the same as your discription.
Is there anyone could help us?

Think your only choice is to reflash ruu again. However best that you post output of "fastboot getvar all" so that others can help. Need to be sure of firmware and os versions to get the right ruu.

You need to get the computer connecting to do anything. Suggest you uninstall htcsync but leave the drivers installed. Try a different usb port and cable.

Think your only choice is to reflash ruu again. However best that you post output of "fastboot getvar all" so that others can help. Need to be sure of firmware and os versions to get the right ruu.

My HTC One M7 is Hongkong CHT edition.
This is the PIC took before flashed RUU.

I've tried the "Unbrick project BETA" from the forum and flashed bcb recovery to my device, but neither worked.
Finally I decided to flash an official RUU to my M7.
First I relocked it. Then I flashed the RUU "PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_hTC_Asia_HK_7.18.708.2_Radio_4T.35.3218.29_10.33R.1718.01L_release_420559_signed.zip" from the RUU collection thread.
But in the process of flashing RUU I suddenly kicked off the power of my desktop PC !!!
Now it has became like this.:crying:

It is totally bricked! It will only boot into fastboot and cannot do any further action except "power down". Other will just make the phone hang. Fastboot mode can be detect by computer. The htc_fastboot command "oem rebootRUU" "reboot" "reboot-bootloader" and "getvar all" will also make the phone hang. Now I can't even make the phone get into RUU mode! However I can boot into hboot with volume- and power button.
