AT&T next question. - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm just wondering if anyone knows. I got the note 3 on the next program, I love the note 3 it's a beast. Let's say another awesome phone comes out before my year upgrade. Can I sell my note and get that phone? or do I have to give them the note back after my year is up?

You have to have a trade in..and I'm pretty sure it has to be the phone obtained via the Next program
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

You only have to trade it in if you havent made all the installment payments.
Once you made all 20 payments its yours to keep
You could do 1 lump sum payment and pay it off. Then its yours to keep!

Thanks a lot. I was hoping it wouldn't be that. So I have to keep his for the whole year or pay a lump sum. That sucks lol

Trade-In for AHD

AT&T valued it for $48. That's good enough because I've been wanting an iPhone 4s for some time now and it's only $100 for a new one and $50 for refurbished (2yr agreement and all that.) , and I was willing to go to the ATT store and do a swap. BUT, I don't think I can because my dad just told me it's under contract. Is it still possible to switch the phones and pay the difference in the balance or would I have to terminate and get the 4s under a new 2yr contract?

Well your best bet would be to put your phone on Craigslist for around 200 or trade for iPhone lol.

Add a line then swapping Numbers

Got a advertisement from sprint offering 200 bucks off any phone and 100 credit for porting a number over. My question is can I port the wife over then swap my number to the phone she gets with the new line? And and put her number on the phone I have now?

I'm a dumb ass sorry for putting this in the wrong section
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
we swap phones around all the time, can see why you couldn't
Do you wait a specific amount of time before you trade devices?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Nope it's just an esn/imei swap. You may need a 3rd phone to temp swap, can only be done one at a time.

You have to wait twenty four hours before theyll do it. Online, phone and in store. Otherwise theyll charge full price for phone

That might be policy, but we've gotten away with insta-swaps before. It's how my father juggles phone upgrades like nobody's business. Then again, we're a long time Sprint customer, so we may have gotten some extra leniency on this front (and/or a nice rep!).
You can do this. I did it in store. I added a line on my account and transferred a number to that new line with the HTC One. As soon as we did that I asked to swap phones and it was done in about 30 minutes for all of the process.
Typed on my Sprint HTC ONE
I may have some wiggle room on the policy then been with sprint since 02

I didn't have to. Upgraded my line and got an Evo LTE for girlfriend, activated right there at Best Buy on her line while I bought it.

I work at a Sprint corporate store. Yes you can do this. You don't need a third phone. The rep should know what they are doing. You can also do it right there in the store. You don't have to wait any amount of time.
If the phone you are buying comes with a mail-in rebate then you will lose the mail-in rebate because of the esn swap. Just a heads up.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
I work for radioshack... I do cross upgrades all the time.. I upgrade the eligible line, sell it, then call up to have them switched. No 24 hours needed
Sent from my S-Off Sprint HTC ONE using xda premium
I do it all the time with our three lines it can be done over the phone and there is no charge just remember that the upgrade will be lost on the line you swap for 2 years.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
The process is called gifted upgrade.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
Sprint employee here. You can do the upgrade and swap the phones instantly. We do it every single day. We care more about our sales numbers than if sprint frowns on this process.

I should hope they wouldn't frown on something that extends my contact and makes them more money. Lol

Where to buy a replacement s-pen?

Hi,
I have lost my s-pen for my note 2 and I can't seem to find a reliable place to buy a replacement from!
I have looked over the Samsung site and I can't find anything, a Google search also hasn't helped!
Hopefully this is an easy query to solve, so help is appreciated!
I am based in the UK.

I found all these in a 20 second google search and there were dozens more trusted sellers. Not sure where your "google search" came up wrong.

Thanks but i was aware eBay sell them. What i was looking for was something official and more trustworthy, ideally from Samsung. Also I live in the UK so again prefer any eBay amazon sell to be from here, this may not be possible but I want to check.

I would only buy them direct from samsung. I have had 2 different s pens from amazon and ebay and both had major issues (wouldnt write on right side of screen). It works though with official s pen. Once you register your note with samsung you get a 50% off code too (so total is about 20 with shipping)

not being able to write on 1 side of your screen sounds more like an issue with your case.
cases that use strong magnets can cause issues like that.

I called a Samsung store up, and they were kind enough to send me the link.

How much does T-Mobile stores charge for the Note 2 S-Pen? I don't need one, but curious of the price just in case I ever do.

Honestly I didn't ask cause I didn't need one, but I imagine most likely around 10 or so.

Is the Gear worth 199?

As the title says.. I'm interested in a smart watch to compliment my N3..
Sent from my SM-N900V using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
Things are only worth as much as people will pay for them...
I paid $300 and at first felt that it was a bit too much (however also felt it fine for first gen and also because it was so much better than pebble @ $150 and heaps of possibilities)
Have a read of threads here as to what others have done with their gear and decide for yourself
Now it's in a position to make me choose to keep my s4 over the Nexus 5 I'm trying out - really don't want to give it up!

In my opinion it is worth $299 that I paid. It is fun, the new notifications are working well finally, and the apps that I can sideload on it without rooting it are cool as well. I use the pedometer all the time, and the Chat on messaging program is really fun while on the go to talk to the family. The color screen is great and I've even watched some movies on it and it is watchable. Being able to take a phone call on the watch has helped me a few times in reality even. I am sure the second version will be much better, and have better battery life, but for a first GEN device it is great.
Thanks for the feedback!

I paid £190, well worth it for this price!
I was happy at $299.

Currently, I am using a Note 2. I have yet to install the 4.3 update (plan on doing it in 2 weeks when i am off for 2 weeks). However, i love taking pictures, making phone calls, sideloading apps, and customizing the watch faces!!! I think it's well worth the money i spent on it. I will probably get the GG 2 when it comes out as well!!!
Personally just the quality of the watch, the customisable clock faces and camera itself is worth $200, add to this the notifications and ability to make phonecalls and all other frills, if you can afford it, definitely worth the money.

LoL...couldn't agree with you more. Also, with MK7 installed, the notifications are richer and provide more information than what we get with the stock US rom.

Need some advice

Someone I know wants to trade my lg g flex for a note 3, any feed back would help, thanks.

Smaller screen, weaker antennas from what I've heard from coworkers, full of gimmicky doo-dads that everyone raves about for 4 Seconds before forgetting about them forever. Nope, sounds like a fair trade to me.

There are a few of us who came from the Note 3 to the Flex, there's a thread about it. Long story short, nearly a year later I have no regrets.
