It looks like you don't have a custom recovery installed. Try installing one, you know how I presume.
Isnt that going back to rooting my phone? I wanna stay unrooted. If i unrooted my phone i should be able to update my phone normally from my About phone-Update software. It installs but resets back to the stock

The only thought is you may have wrong recovery. I would suggest to run ruu for ATT if you can or Soff and then do it
I ran the ruu for at&t already. Domt get me wrong the phone works great i just wanna update it

Then that's odd issue. Your other options will be to install custom recovery and sideload or manually install OTA file.

I messed my phone up tonight and got it stuck in a bootloop since there is currently no RUU out I'm left with no choice but to go back to the store. Does anyone know if T-Mobile stores have the stock RUU and can restore it?

Hold volume down while it bootloops. I guarantee you'll make it into hboot.

If your problem is transferring files, can you not go to recovery and use usb-ms (while attached to the computer) which will then open the memory of the phone on the computer. That's what I did to transfer stock ruu when I recently bricked my evo 4g.

I'm currently in the process of trying to push a nandroid backup to the device via adb. The problem is that there's no stock ruu for tmobile as of yet so the only choice I have is to recover via a nandroid.

no success at all, I'm gonna head to the tmobile store here in a few and see what I can get worked out
I just came back from the bell store, and they said that they could exchange me for a new one but they don't have any in stock until Tuesday.
I soft bricked my nexus devices dozen times in the past few years, and was easily restored to stock. Lesson learned by me, never root a non nexus device within 1 week of its release.

Why even bother? Just push a ROM, wipe system and data, then flash it.
You don't need a ruu. What did you do to get into a bootloop.

factory reset wont work but luckily i got it taken care of and got my device swapped and no custom kernel
dont know how you did that. ive flashed every rom i could for this device to problem recovering from bootloops
I managed to fixed mine finally, Installed twrp and mounted my USB via otg. Then flashed a custom ROM, rebootef, still suck at the boot screen. Flashed a custom kernel, and it finally got passed the boot screen.
So happy to get my One back up and running again.

had this problem. i sideloaded a rom on and then it was fine. use the m7 all in one to sideload from recovery and it should work fine.
When I was still running stock, I was able to successfully unlock my bootloader, put custom recovery, and root my phone with superSU.
My troubles arose when I tried to flash Android Revolution HD.
When my phone boots, it would just go into bootloader mode. Would not boot past that, no matter what.
Since then, I've tried reverting to stock with RUU (failed), stock ROMs (won't go past HTC screen), Viper (Only have a status bar), and a handful of other ROMs.
I'm successfully sideloading these ROMs and installing them.. but they remain unfunctional. Please help, I've been at it for 3 days.
Ruu. The latest Android Revolution does nit support Sprint and you probably mucked your partitions all up. Be glad it doesnt completely decimate your phone like every other device wouldve. Ruu and start from scratch. This time READ TO SEE IF YOUR VARIANT IS SUPPORTED.

How would I go about fixing the partitions? I did the RUU mulitple times, and it would just fail. Could you please link me to a RUU that you know works?

Possible Solution
I saw this problem b4, and there is possible solution.
Change the name "download" folder to "Download" in root directory, then FOTA again.
Try this out !!

while trying to get a recovery to work with no avail, i wiped cache and did a factory reset and now i am in a boot loop. wish i could remove the freaking battery. just got my phone today and the first thing i did was updated to sense 4.3. I then unlocked the bootloader successfully. I started having problems with flashing a recovery even though the bootloader said unlocked and tampered. twrp would not boot, but i got cwm to boot. the problem on cwm was i didnt have access to all the folders like the downloads folder that had the su zip. I did have avast already installed while i was trying to root(going to activate antitheft once rooted) i thought avast might be the problem so i uninstalled went back into recovery wiped cache and did a factory reset hoping cwm would access the folder i need nope. so i was calling it a night and booted up the phone and now it is STUCK. It was easier rooting my evo 3d with brick method. PLEASE HELP ASAP

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to the Xperia, came from a desire HD, and loving it!
I've flashed roms to this phone already, but ended up going back to to the latest stock Rom and since then I can't get into the recovery. I don't know if I'm back to stock recovery or not, but I've tried all the button combos, apps and adb and I just can't seem to get in! Also, I can't remember if I relocked my bootloader.. whoops..
Would flashing dual recovery sort this? Or would doing so with a locked boot loader mess with things?
Also, would flashing the recovery wipe anything from my phone? Not that it's a problem, I just don't wanna dive in with no back ups
Thanks in advance

Hi friend
You can flash a dual recovery with locked BL . I did so and it was a success . ALWAYS backup your data before doing such things
Cheers mate! I know to always back up, but I get very little time to do this stuff, working a lot, I just wanted to know if I could get away with it, Hahaa :')
