Every Sprint kernel (not many to choose from) causes the same problem-my phone gets stuck on the boot logo screen. What would cause this?
Sense 5.0, android 4.3
There are no kernels for 4.3

Well, that would explain a lot..... 4.3 must be new to the sprint platform then. Just got the phone a week ago. None of the downloads mention what version of android they are for

Once we get kernel source then we can have some custom kernels

Hey guys! Daniel here on my unlocked HTC one (dev addition)....
I have been having some issues with my camera, every custom kernel I have tried has made it be black, and unresponsive.
So far I have tried elementalX (The Kernel I hope to have work), and 2 other xda kernels, all with both camera fix on and off...
I have also tried this with the stock ROM, and CleanROM, with no change in effect~
Any ideas for diagnosing this issue?

I'm on 2.17. 401.1 - is this an issue?
I'm running Android revolution HD 10, but have not tried flashing elementalx yet.
There isn't even source code for 1.29 properly yet, never mind the new Android 4.2.2 I'd strongly recommend using the stock kernel until the source code is released for kernel devs
I'm surprised the only issue you're having is with camera tbh

Sounds good, with stock kernel is there any good 3dot menu replacement? Sadly android revolution 10 does not get rid of it (hint hint)

Has anyone tried compiling 4.4 with the current device trees? I've been told by a few people that it works for the most part?

Maybe will come out more roms when the update for the GE will come out

There is only one rom available in 4.4 right now, as far as I know, and it's for the Nexus.
i know a few teams are working on it but nothing workable yet

In brand new to this phone and I love it. I'm s off and just get a little confused with all the variants of this phone on different carriers. I read about the Skydragon lollipop based ROM. Does this support the Sprint phone? I have the Harmon Kardon edition, can I flash everything the original Sprint M8 can? Sorry for all the questions I'm just so new to this phone and there being so many variants. Thanks.
Look here:

Yes. I'm running a HK M8, soff and multi boot. Beyond stock kernel thanks to cpt throwback who ported the skydragon ROM however. the official HTC GPE ROMS will be out tomorrow. Might wait for those since they won't be ported.

Okay so once the official GPE lollipop is out I can flash them on my M8 HK? Thanks.
Yes, you can. I've even installed the skydragon ROM for now. I have impulse control issues.

So everything works on our version of the M8 with skydragon? I'm loving this phone and the support for it.
Experiences vary and it's a port from the Verizon ROM so while it works, it can be a bit of pain. Head over here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762336&goto=newpost for the ROM (don't let the thread title throw you off.) and more details

Okay thanks. I think I'll wait for the official GPE since it's so close to release.
I have searched google for an answer and havn't had any luck. I have been running device since day before launch, and s-offed a week after it came available and have had no luck getting any version of xposed-arm64 to run, or even get phone to boot past startup animation. Don't want custom rom either.

It doesn't sound like your rom is deodexed. That is a prerequisite

I'll check later. At work, about 3hr away from home. But the HTC M9 was a flop device and support is low. I might have to deodex myself in kitchen.
Sm-g900a, QA1 update (latest -feb17 security)

We can't even begin to think about custom Nougat Roms until ATT releases a Nougat update. Even then we'd have a problem with creating something the kernel would accept.

Okay 1. This is the S5, not the S4 and 2. Basically every edition of the GS5 EXCEPT OURS can be flashed with a custom ROM, due ot the nature of our locked bootloaders (thanks AT&T), we cannot flash ANYTHING that doesn't use the stock AT&T kernel.
That means:
No Custom Recovery
No AOSP/AOKP/RR/etc
No Custom Kernels
Sorry mate, you seem to be out of luck :/

Gotcha. I did read on here that the security for the bootloader was cracked last year and that there is a loki patch to unlock it. Any truth to that?

I'd love to see the thread that you got that from... right now the only way we'd be able to get anything custom would be if we are able to get this Secure Boot CVE to work.
Also, loki is for the GS4, not the S5. The Galaxy S5's firmware is based off something different, and I'm pretty sure that loki vuln was patched long before the Galaxy S5 even came out.

Looks like I was wrong - the source I found was for the Verison GS5. Some eMMC backdoor/CID change. (Link below)
AT&T really is sticking it to us on this one, it seems.

Yeah SamDunk only works for Verizon devices with Samsung eMMCs... even if someone with an AT&T S5 had a Samsung eMMC, they'd still need a developer edition aboot and CID, which doesn't really *exist*
