[Q} 16GB HD+ lags on every ROM. Suggestions? - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my Nook HD+ lags on every ROM I've tried. Both Carbons, CM 10.2, and CM 10.1.3. I have the 6th revision of the Samsung eMMC. And I ask, any suggestions are to what I can do to eradicate or minimize lag? If you have any ideas as to why I'm getting so much lag, please let me know, as well. Thanks!

Ok. I know how to do that, but idk what that means/what it does. Could you explain please?

Instead of focusing on just the read speeds or the write speeds
It does both simultaneously

Will the processor be able to handle that?

Yes
It works on virtually any tired device
And the processor doesn't handle it
It's the kernel and the flash storage of the device

This is odexed, uses Zeam Launcher instead of stock Android launcher. A lot of things were removed (some languages, wallpapers,..) and the ROM is incredibly lightweight (only 55Mo !). For a full features list, see my website.

Thanks, my first impressions are that it's very smooth and quick. A great rom if your looking for something that just works well and doesn't have any unnecessary clutter.

Power off and then power on and see if the keyboard posted up. If you have a custom recovery you can try to ADB sideload a Gapps zip in TWRP and that should bring up a keyboard for you.

Oh it's stock. Well I would try a warranty from Amazon. Otherwise you'll need a fastboot cord and factory images.

Upgrade to lollipop?

So since android is open source, would it be legal to upgrade a Nook HD to lollipop, and if so, how could I?

It is legal but voids any warranty you may have with B&N. There are lots of threads in the development forum telling you how to do it. If you want to go to Kit Kat or lower go to the dummies thread linked in my signature.

I always recommend cm10.1.3. It is fast and stable. Not sure if it supports apps2sd, you'll just have to try it. Follow the dummies thread linked in my signature to install it.

Latest Lolipop for Ovation dated 29.08.2015 from DMaces runs pretty well also. Highly recommended. You can find it in the developer section of this forum.
Hi all,
I'm running cm12, lollipop 5.1.1, on a nook HD+, and I can't get access to a USB Drive. I installed the unofficial August 3rd build. I'm using the standard USB power cord with a female to female USB adapter. I have run several USB host apps to try to resolve the problem with no luck. I get a message that I need and s3c host adapter driver. Any idea how I can resolve this issue?
Thank you,

Not sure I can from the device and software I am currently using, but look in the development folder for cm12.1 by Amaces. Has both ovation and hummingbird ROMs and kernels.
See if the following link works.

Apps2sd is supported under cm10.1.3. I recently uninstalled cm 11 because of constant instability and installed 10.1.3 under your advice. :good: I haven't had any mishaps yet.
The Nook's (HD/HD+) hardware prevents it from using any version above cm 10.1.3 without performance issues. But overall, a fantastic value when rooted correctly.
