I love the UNL3ASH3D ROM so far, but it altered the account setup. I can only do gmail, yahoo, or corporate sync. This is a big negative for me. Any ideas how to fix it? I need to be able to add an IMAP account by server name.
I'm using a third party app but not that happy with it.

I had the same issue, and currently there is no fix. So I went back to stock ROM.
Not happy as I was very please with the Unl3ash3d ROM. I sent DroidTh3ory a PM and this is what he said.
Thanks, im glad you are liking it. There was a issue with the email app but I do have it taken care of.

I have checked every day on the Unl3ash3d thread for an update but nothing so far.
I thought I was the only one and was going crazy. I started using the K9 E-Mail app, but it was draining battery (possibly)
Switched back to stock rom as well, i loved the ROM otherwise... But I NEEDED the mail app, I was most comfortable with it too, and able to change the settings on it to only sync every 3 hours, which saves tremendous battery
Ya, I am currently using the K9 app as well. Hopefully there is an update soon to fix it.

I can't figure out how to switch accounts in the stock email unless I get a new email on the other account!
Something I am missing?
İ need a mail client for my exchange mail. Stock mail app is too slow for me. Can you give me an advise which client is the best for me.
Sorry about my english

I'm using AquaMail. It is very powerfull email client.
Enhanced Email is pretty impressive, think it's on sale too... Based on stock, but don't let that put you off
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qs.enhancedemail
If you want non-stock, check out mail Droid. They've got a free ad supported one you can check out to see before purchase, I personally prefer it to stock based clients. I'm still using free version after 3 months or so, seen no need to upgrade yet.

Hope it helps.

for me - K9 Mail
Exchange by Touchdown gives you all you need
Since the original Gapps mail client sucked big time in many i9000 ROMs i started to look out for a really good free option.
I found K9 mail!
It is as fast as my pc clint thunderbird wiping the floor with email.apk the whole day
Really great email client with loads of features which i mostly don´t need.

EE for me. Works well with what i need, including (disabling) Exchange security policies
I just installed the CM7.2 SIII MOD V3 ROM from Faceliler and found it very light and useful, but the icon for setting up email accounts is not there. Gmail is in there, but I use the mail setup to get my hotmail and yahoo accounts in my phone. This is the first time I face a ROM that is lacking of the mail setup. May it be a bug or am I doing something wrong? I know this may be a very basic function but is one of the primary reasons why I have a unlimited internet plan in my cell phone, so its a primary function for me
Download an alternative E-mail client from play store. Faceliler should have removed it on purpose to add more space.

Yes, I was thinking about that possibility, unfortunately the free email clients in market aren't good enough as the stock one in android :crying:

Relax boss, nothing to worry. The Play Store installed on your phone needs to get itself updated. Once it is updated you wont face this problem.
So just open Play Store on your device and give it some time to update itself.
Had faced the same problem few days back. Relax.

Actually if you must have noticed that there is another app called GOOGLE PLAY SERVICE or similar name.
when u open play store that PLAY SERVICE app also updates itself.
So just try explorin the PLAY STORE on your phone. Give it a few secs. It'll be ready.
Spend some time surfin on the Play Store so that it gets time to update itself.
It has worked for me.

Dont use two different Gmail IDs. Check if you have Google Play Services (or something like that). Make sure your device is synced with your gmail ID.

Login with your id, sync your device with it, check under Gmail settings, install google play services app. If the problem persists, contact google via email. May be it is mistaken that your account has been accessed from a device that isn't listed in your previous access details. Are you sure that you first used this account on phone and then tried it on PC ? May be they're treating your phone as an untrusted source of access.
If you don't wanna bang your head over all this, just create a new Gmail account and access it via your phone.

I double checked all the things u asked me to...problem still persists...
I was suspecting a change in the android user id or something like that...it usually comes up after flashing a new rom...titanium asks me if I want to restore the previous user id so that my device is still recognized as the same one that it was before flashing...but I don't know more technical details on this matter...
So since ur a developer,I guess u know the technicality of this matter...I just feel the reasoning for the problem must be in that direction of thought...please help me if u can think of something that could have gone wrong...

First... I ain't a developer You can call me experienced. But no one knows everything. You can say we know enough, but not everything. When unusual problems like this arise, everyone find themselves in a dilemma. Then someone somehow finds a way to nail it or someone works out wonders. Until somehow the problem is solved, learning never stops in xda ! Our Ace forum is so tremendous that we find so much of varied and relevant cases here that can't be found anywhere else on xda and that makes this forum a stand out and hell awesome !
Talking about your problem, did you try the titanium backup trick ? Sometimes it is just a sequence of steps to solve it. You can just follow it. Like, titanium backup fixes the bad integration of superuser for example. As far as my conscious goes, a new Gmail id should definitely solve it. But if you're concerned about sync and purchases, I'd recommend you to contact google via email or the titanium backup Dev as he might know how to nail this since he's provided a possible solution to the prevailing problem. Last resort, wait for someone more learned to respond or go try to nail it yourself, can't help It's happened to me before

I updated my Gear Manager software from 1.4.102802 to 1.5.111304.
After this update, I can no longer read e-mail (Exchange) received from my Gear. Before the update, I was able to read the messages received via the stock E-Mail app on my S4. Now, I only get a notification of a message. If I tap the message, I only get the date and time with the option to tap "Show on device."
Thanks!
Yes. There's a thread here with a link to the 1.2 apk. Remove gear manager, install 1.2, turn off auto updates in gear manager 1.2, and you're good to go. I reset my watch for good measure; I don't know if that is necessary though.
Edit...i didn't know there was a 1.4. I am now using 1.2 and it is fine, but email and messaging from the stock app are all I use the watch for.

Do you have a link to the thread handy?
Yes, I have it now from the PC (didn't have it before from ttalk):

More info here:

Check my sig for several versions of Gear Manager
Thanks for your help guys. I didn't want to roll back to 1.2 since the Gear was working fine with 1.4.
I located the 1.4 APK on the Aptoide app store: uninstalled 1.5 from my S4, installed 1.4, reset Gear, re-synced the devices, sent a few test e-mail's and notifications with readable text is back.
This seems like quite the f'up on Samsung's part.

It's not clear yet whether this is a mistake or whether exchange mail will never be readable via the stock client as part of a broad security policy. I hope it's a mistake.

I hope it's a mistake, too. If Samsung permanently removes the ability to read Exchange mail, it's a deal breaker and the Gear will make its way back to Amazon.
Samsung: Please don't screw this up.
They won't read this forum. Send email to:

And complain. That's the developer contact email.
