Hi I'm trying to use DriveDroid and when I used the app, it said root permission could not be acquired. I've rooted my HTC One and I have SU as one of my apps. What's going on? Thanks for any help.

Hello...
My question is simple. Why I get permission denied on rooted phone?
When I type: adb shell, I get $. Then I type su and I get this message: Permission Denied.
I followed this how-to (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792016) to root my phone and everything was fine. I get root privilegies and installed Superuser.apk, su, busybox...
But now, when I try to get root privilegies, I get the message above. Why?
Thanks and sorry for my english.
Because your phone isn't rooted. Either you didn't do it right or it's unrooted somehow, perhaps you got an OTA.
I think my phone is rooted, because there are many apps that use root permissions installed and working normally.

Then su isn't set up properly, or isn't asking for superuser permissions, or has been denied superuser permissions? Look in your Superuser app, maybe clear settings in it and let su ask again.
So, I cleared the settings in Superuser.apk and tried open Adfree apps that needs su permissions... and it opened and got permissions normally. I really don't understand what is the problem...

You do have usb debugging enabled right?
Context: I recently bought a new car (VW Golf 2009 mark 6) and I want to connect my HTC One via bluetooth, but the bluetooth module in the car says phone not compatible.
I found that the BT module in my car wouldn't work with stock phone, but that I could install RSAP for Android if I rooted my phone.
I unlocked my bootloader using the instructions on the root section for the HTC One on here
I then progressed to trying to root my phone after watching the subsequent vid
I have flashed the device with both TWRP and Clockwork Mod
I have Super User installed, does that not mean I'm rooted?
When I use root checker basic, it just says "Sorry! This device does not have proper root access." Any ideas why I'm blocked at this point?
It also seems to mean I can't install the rsap for android.
The same happens when I use Clockwork Mod, I have installed super user, but I still can't install rsap. The error message when I try to do so says:
Installation failed. sync mount -o rw,remount -t ext4/dev/block/mmcblk0p35/system failed/system/bin/su[1]: syntax error:'('unexpected
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
try a different app that needs root access eg titanium backup, goomanager or rom manager. if neither works you probably did something wrong by rooting. also check your super user or supersu app in drawer
there is an app, root checker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck&hl=en) try that.

Hi Prash,
I have already tried that app, root checker basic, it just says "Sorry! This device does not have proper root access."
Any ideas why I'm blocked at this point?
Thanks
Hello, I'm sorry to ask but I checked all 31 posts about busybox in here and even in other phones, and nothing helps.
I've a Moto X with unlocked bootloader, and I installed twrp 2.8.4.0-ghost, installed last SuperSU and busybox from stericson.
I'm running Android 4.4.3 from stock (came that way when I bought it).
Titanium Backup works, it says Root Access Ok and BusyBox 1.19.4 (also have SQLite, i don't know if it's relevant)
With ADB i can access shell and su, but when typing "busybox" it says it doesn't recognise the command.
I'm trying to use a pc software that needs busybox, when connecting the phone it doesn't recognise busybox.
I tried installing busybox manually, using this and this, but at some I always get the error that data/local/busybox is read-only
Any help greatly appreciated, thanks
Try to update Busybox. I'm on 1.23.0 and was on 1.21.x for a long time. I think you are using a very old busybox.
Hi Guys, I'm having some issues with SuperSU and was hoping someone might know what is wrong or what I could check.
I recently deodexed my OG2 stock rom so that I could use arter97's port of the exposed frameworks. I used the following guide, which worked great by the way:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/general/how-to-deodex-lollipop-rom-t3065596
The only issue is the SuperSU no longer prompts me when apps request root permission. I verified all this with root checker. With SuperSU set to prompt, apps just hang waiting for root which is never granted because I'm not getting the pop-up. However, if I set SuperSU to grant all root requests by default, everything works properly.
Has anyone ever seen something similar to this before? I'd love to get it working properly again. Kind of nervous about having SuperSU set to grant root by default.
I am trying to run screen2auto on android auto and i need supersu ti verify that root permissions ar granted to thr various apps, so i installed supersu but it asks me for an update that doesn't happen automatically. I tried to use the apps eithout updating supersu, even granting permissions to rhe apps, these don't work in particular just activated super su Aa Io tweaker no longer works and shows a white screen. I hope that updating supersu solves the problem. Can someone help me?
Dude what are you saying? Did you ever have root?
