4.4 roms wont flash to Sprint htc one - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hey guys,
Every time I try to flash a 4.4 rom whether it was Beanstalk or pure cyanogen 11 I got the same error while it I was flashing.
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
Then it says error in the file (status 7) installation aborted.
The only thing i could think of is that I am not s-off and I didn't see any requirements for that or anything else.
Thanks for any help.

I am afraid it's because of the recovery. It needs 2.6.3.3 recovery which isn't available for Sprint yet

Well i looked up status 7 error and got a fix for deleting some of the script for the rom, but that didn't even start the installation of the rom so I guess i'll give up for now.
Also, if that recovery isn't available then how are people flashing these roms? I would assume because they are developers.

Hardly a definitive answer (because I don't use the ROM in question), but you could consider using a different recovery such as CWM. That said, I'm running the GE 4.4 port, so take with a grain of salt.

I have flashed all the 4.4 ROMs in developmental except Beanstalk on TWRP 2.6.3.0.

I'm running beanstalk without any problems, update TWRP to the last version

is the only way to switch to twrp through the bootloader? i'm running cwm right now. I know there is a way to go through goo manager but the file never downloads to install twrp to begin with. I'm just not destined to run 4.4 i guess!
Anyways, Thanks for all your guys help.

I read somewhere you cant use goomanager now to flash TWRP, bootloader seems to be the only option unless there's a way to flash it through CWM...

Why not use a terminal emulator app? Although I have ran quite a bit of Kitkat roms and they all work for me.

Try this:
http://www.hasoon2000.info/?developer=One (M7,T-Mobile,ATT,Sprint)
Get the latest update of TWRP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236620
Take that .img, rename it one word and put in the recoveries file in the AIO folder. Then use the tool to flash your updated recovery. It's what I did.

[Q] I got S-OFF On Incredible S, but I still need help!

Hi Guys, I got my Incredible S (IS) successfully S-OFF using the beta of AlphaRev X.
I made the donation because the work the AlphaRev X have done is great
I used the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122694 to install the clockworkmod and recovery, and it was completely successful. What I did is I obtain the right Clockworkmod Recovery for my IS I have now the ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.0.1 on my Incredible S.
New the two problem I am facing is:
1- When I flash a language package (so that I will be able to read Arabic using the same original ROM which comes with the device) , the installing gets aborted and unsuccessful. Although, I used the same language packaged which I used it for my old Desire HD and now both are Froyo .
The message I gets on Recovery page is :
-- Installing : /sdcard/Arabic_DHD_2.2.1 _FIX_Browser_RTL. Zip
Finding update package…
Opening update package…
Installing update …
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the clockworkMod 3.0 Ginger bread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update Zip Package .
Installation aborted
Well, I don’t know that all mean and I don’t know how I would fix this. It seems so complicated
Please would any Developer out there help!
2- I tried to flash a custom ROM by LeeDrOiD_HD_V 2.2.3, but also didn’t work. The message I gets is:
-- Installing : /sdcard/LeeDrOiD_HD_V2.2.3. Zip
Finding update package…
Opening update package…
Installing update …
Checking Model ID
Assert failed: getprop(“ro. product .device”) ==”

getprop(“ro.product.board”) ==”ace”
E:Error in /sdcard/ LeeDrOiD_HD_V2.2.3. Zip
(Status 7)
Installation aboard.
Please would anyone of developer help me in getting this issue fixed. I really would appreciate it the effort and the reply. All I care about is the a ROM ( cocked or custom ROM) which can read Arabic and not losing the S-OFF I have got from AlphaRev X. thank you for your time and you support! I tried to post my question through the XDA Incredible S developer sub-forums link, but it refused. Please would anyone help me! Thanks for reading my email.

Did u try this rom:

Thanks for the reply. No, I didn’t try. Do you think this will solve the flashing issue.?

I believe I got it already rooted and installed recovery for the IS from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122694 (Root and Recovery) but still working on the flashing Arabic thing. would you please tell me how I would check whether I have already permanent root in my device or not? Because it seems I do have but I need to check to make sure I did. For root thing I followed the instruction in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122694 (Root and Recovery) and Installed the “su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip” file and it was successful.

To root:
Copy su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip to your sdcard root
Start clockworkmod recovery (instructions below)
Select "install zip from sdcard"
Then select "Choose zip from sdcard"
Then select "su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip"
Then select "Yes - install su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip" to confirm
Then go back
Then reboot.

That's right...
Right. Also recovery too. Don't try it unless neccesary. It requires great effort to get the things back to position.
If you read carefully it says that it cannot flash because you are trying to flash desire hd roms... go over to the inc s dev section and pick one there.
Desire HD roms will not work on the incs.
However you can try and edit the update script that it reads vivo instead of ace.
Im not responsible for failure hh

Either the rom is not the IncS version or the file was damaged during download possibly from using a dl manager. Just try a different rom.

OP might be right. What I have experienced with my IS is that every single ROM I install, it never boots into the newly flashed ROM.
I have got S-Off, obviously. THX for asking.
I gained S-Off via revolutionary method, am able to flash any CM7 nightlies, it boots fine, but as soon as I flash any other Sense ROM, I dont get my phone to boot into the ROM.
When I flash the ROM, it finishes, atleast it displays the message at the end, and then it reboots, and stuck at the HTC Logo.
I pull out the battery, relaunch Recovery again, reload either CM7 or the Default Stock ROM using nandroid backup and get the phone to work... but custom ROMs are impossible to flash and boot into.
Any inputs by anyone?
I don't think I haven't followed the S-Off method incorrectly as I am able to flash CM7 and I also have got Root Access.
Thx in advance.
Cheers!!!

Hey mate, did you check the md5 sum matches?
In CWM:
Format System
Format Data
Format Cache
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Then Flash you rom, reboot and wait for it all to install.
Are you wiping the dalvik cache and doing a full wipe before installing? And have you checked to see whether you have signified checking on or off?

You really haven't given much informaton to go on. Basics with any help request;-
What are you trying to achieve?
What version are you running?
What ROM were you on before?
Rooted?
Bootloader locked or unlocked?
What recovery have you installed?
EXACT error message - this is the single most important detail!!
There are plenty of guides around if you are trying to get from 'Stock' to CM10.1;-
Upgrade to 'Stock' JB first
Root
Unlock bootloader
Install CWM (v6.0.3.1)
Install CM from zip
Install gApps from zip
.....
Profit

Highlighted in red for a very good reason. You'll need to reflash your stock v10e first, yet again there are guides on how to do this. Once you have the phone back up and running on v10e then read carefully and make sure you understand all the steps before trying again

Via LG mobile supporter I'm installing 20a or something. Then I will redo it. Thanks for your effort in helping. Hahaha. :good:

[SOLVED] Epic frustration!!! Problems with ROM installation. Everything else seems OK

Tearing my hair out a little with this one.
Out of the box my phone was a UK GSM HTC One, which I gather is the 'm7' when I'm in this company
I've unlocked the handset with the HTC Developer unlock instructions
I've installed ClockworkMod recovery 6.0.4.8 (as per the note on CyanogenMod site, re new partition structure)
I've rooted with SuperSU.zip
I've not got S-OFF (I'm unclear as to the value of going that far; although I have done with previous phones)
I can get to the bootloader fine; I can switch to fastboot; I can issue fastboot commands; I can get to recovery and do all the recovery stuff; I can issue adb sideloads
What I DON'T seem to be able to do, is install any ROM other than cm-11-20140504-SNAPSHOT-M6-m7.zip . Any other ROM I try (later CM snapshots; Android Revolution HD; deodexed Stock ROM (from Android Rev site)), all give me installation errors....
I get the errors if I;
- Try a CM update from within CM in the Settings/Updates menus
- Reboot to recovery and do a zip install from recovery (zip previously downloaded to phone)
- ADB sideload from recovery
Can ANYONE think of anything I'm not doing; or that I'm doing incorrectly, that might be causing this?
It's driving me nuts!

OMGoodness.. I'm not really sure Sir..I have a XT1060 DEV..but I haven't kept up with the Moto X lately (in the past month)..So..I'm not really the one to help you with newer versions..Are you sure 4.4.3 is right for your device.?
I'd suggest do research in here (XDA) and know what is the latest..I'm assuming that you are trying to flash an OTA..but if you have a file someone has "ported" or something of that nature..go back to where you downloaded the file and research..
Even if you have an OTA zip..I'd suggest maybe know the file more, maybe it should be unzipped and run an XML file..I honestly am not familiar with the file you are attempting to use..
Maybe post a link to where you found the file and myself and others can go look at what file and its purpose..then maybe we can assist you more..Sorry I can't help you more at this time..

No, it isn't. The screenshots you uploaded CLEARLY show custom recovery. You need to flash stock recovery back before you can take any updates.
If you don't know the difference between stock and custom recovery, you aren't ready to update. You need to Read, Read, Read....
This would be a good start: http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-OTA.html (Thanks @KidJoe for the well-written documentation)

I'm trying really hard to explain it to you but you just aren't getting it....
This is what you wrote in the post you linked:
1- Return to STOCK(Mine is 4.4.2) But I did stock it to 4.4.2. OK!
2- Install the TWRP to install the SuperSU. OK, Everything's fine.
3- After it, my dev is already rooted.
OK, look at step number 2: YOU INSTALLED TWRP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you flashed TWRP, you REPLACED stock recovery with custom recovery (TWRP).
As I've been trying to make you understand, OTAs will -----ONLY----- install if you have STOCK RECOVERY.
You will need to flash stock recovery BACK (replacing TWRP), THEN you can accept the update!!!!
Afterwards, you can flash TWRP back.
This is well documented everywhere.....you will have to do this EVERYTIME a new OTA comes out.
You can NOT accept an OTA if you have TWRP installed.
Do you understand now?

I'm convinced that you aren't even reading what I'm writing......
Let me make this easy for you:
Do this:
1. Return to Stock 4.4.2
2. Accept the OTA (DO NOT FLASH TWRP)
3. After you accept the OTA, and you are running 4.4.3, NOW you can install TWRP
YOU CANNOT ACCEPT THE OTA IF TWRP IS INSTALLED!!!!! I've told you this SO many times now.....
TWRP is your problem. You must NOT install TWRP and root (supersu) until AFTER you accept the OTA.
It has ALWAYS been like this. This is nothing new.
Please read my posts carefully. If you follow those instructions, it WILL work.........

When I go back to STOCK doesn't the TWRP break ? Because whenever I go back to stock and try to click on "Recovery" Dev stops working. That's what I did man..
1- Back to STOCK perfectly.
2- No Updates comes up. What's this OTA update you're talking about ? where does it pops up ? I'M SURE I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY right after I stock it... I even checked it in the System Updates...

YES, you do NOT want TWRP (or you can't accept the update).
OTA = "Over the air update" = update to 4.4.3
What method are you using to return to stock? Tell me you aren't just doing a "factory reset". How exactly are you "returning to stock"?
If you install TWRP = updates DISABLED.

I tried many.. RSDLite, Manual flashing and that one that is recommended for people with problems with "boot loop" and the first I tried two days ago that erased all my data, cache, everything..
The thing is, is that every method seems to work fine but I just don't receive the update '-'
Actually I receive that upgrade that is something that pops up for 3 seconds saying "Upgrading android, installing apps." Then my Dev initializes normal but still dealing with the 4.4.2...

Please just try.
1. Return to Stock (just use RSD Lite) YES, this will erase EVERYTHING.
2. Go to settings > About Device > System Update
3. Update to 4.4.3 will install.
4. After 4.4.3 successfully installs, NOW you can flash TWRP (ONLY after you are on 4.4.3)
Please just try it.....

That is because you flashed TWRP, as I've been trying to make you understand.....
Is Spanish your native language?
If so, perhaps this page will explain it better than I can:
