[Q] Puzzled Why Android Revolution have problems but smooth InsertCoin. - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was running Android Revolution HD for JellyBean in my HTC Dev Ed. for a couple of months without any hitch.
When the KitKat Update for Android Revolution was released I updated my TWRP to the latest version and flashed to Android Revolution 40.2.
The installation went just fine but the phone is almost unusable as Play Store crashes every few seconds so I was unable to install apps. And there were other problems as including keyboard crashing during browsing etc.
The thing is from a cursory examination of the thread, I could not find anyone else having the same problem and I could not post my problem there because of the 10 posts threshold.
So I flashed to KitKat InsertCoin which is working very smoothly at the moment.
This has left me rather puzzled. Since we are running pretty much identical hardware and software.
What could have caused the ROM to go haywire like what happened to Android Revolution 40.2 in my phone.

[Q] My HTC One reboots

Dear all,
I have a HTC One for like 3 months. I had on it stock rom, custom roms, and right now I have my phone unrooted and official android 4.3 with sense 5.5. After 1 month I bought it I noticed that almost every 2 weeks it reboots out of nowhere. This is happening indifferent what rom i have on it.
My question is if you have any idea why is this happening ?
Thanks

[Q] flashing older rom with newer/latest firmware

Hello all,
I'm soon going to get a third M7. The device I'm getting has been updated to latest official version with Sense 6 (Android 4.4.3?), so I guess firmware was also updated.
Since I hate Sense 6 (flame away ) I'd like to ask if it's ok to flash an older rom with Sense 5.5 (Android 4.4.2) without downgrading the firmware?
As far as I can remember I had no issues running a Sense 6 rom with older firmware on my previous device, but what about the other way around?
Thank you in advance!

You should be fine, as long as you're S-OFF.
Might want to doublecheck with some more experienced folks here.

Running new apps on old OS

The newest version of snapchat requires at least Android 4.0
Is there any possible way I can update my OS on my exhibit ii from my current version, 2.3.6. to Android 4.0?
I read a lot of posts about rooting and such but I really don't understand what it is or how to do it
If someone could provide me with a fix for the snapchat issue (running it on my current OS) or detailed instructions on how to safely root my device to run Android 4.0 on my phone then I will be the happiest girl in the world!
Please please please help! I just want snapchat back

Android 6.0 isn't even fully deployed to nexus devices yet, you'll have to be much more patient . We will probably see 6.0 CM or AOSP roms relatively soon. I'm not expecting any 6.0 rom based on HTC Sense UI. CM13 development started about 10 days ago btw.

Custom Roms
As I am sure you know of by now. There are some unofficial cm13 roms on XDA threads that will bring Marshmallow on the Htc One m7 for both GSM and verizon/sprint variants. As per usual these roms are in early stages so bugs are expected. Overall the roms I have tested work smoothly and features like doze, app permissions are present. Bugs like FC on camera while taking pictures and phone restarting when plugging headphones do annoy me a lot and thus I went back to stable 5.1 roms. You could try the marshmallow roms out of curiosity like I did, but you probably should wait if you want to use them as a daily driver for your phone.
Hello
I've didn't heard anything
VanirAOSP
I recommend the VanirAOSP ROMs. They're usually among the first to make builds of new versions of Android, and they do a great job of doing it in a timely manner while having a grasp on stability. As of their latest nightlies, the only bug on their Marshmallow builds is that the camera app force closes when you launch the camcorder app, but this is a bug with all Marshmallow ROMs. A big plus with Vanir is that they do support all M7 variants, which as a Sprint user myself, is fantastic.
I hope you enjoy it, and Happy Holidays!

Fast Nexus 7!!!

I have found a fast rom for the 2012 N7, I went through CM12.1, Omnirom 5.1.1 and 4.4.4, Lineage 14.1, RR 5.8.2, but none of these were good, with or without custom kernals or parrot mod. The best rom I've ran (and am currently running) is stock 4.1.2 with no mods (unless you count root). Happy flashing guys, and frankly, if you don't want to update your hardware, just downgrade your software. I also tried stock 4.3, 4.4.4, and 5.1.1, 4.1.2 is the best by far. It took an hour to settle but when it did, it was lightning compared to the others.
Also no, I tried CM 10, it's somehow slower than stock 4.1.2

Before buying my 2012 N7 3G (I bought it some months ago) I've read the same on some forum. I use this rom base on 7.1.2 and it is acceptable for me.
I believe some apps/versions are not compatible with 4.1.2 by now, so it may require a bit of digging for apks no?
What I do notice, is that if you want a fast tablet you have to carefully choose your apps (and maybe versions) due to ram consumption. From example as an app for e-reader: Kindle (127mb ram) vs fbreader (27mb ram).
Since you had all the work trying roms I guess you may have choosing apps. Do you have any recommendation?
So far I can tell some apps that I believe are the best/lightest that I use:
k9 email material
xodo pdf
nova launcher
opera beta (may not be the lightest, but it has facebook notifications and messenger notifications so minus two apps I need)
greenify
amaze file explorer
hope to ear from you, right now I am in need of a good keyboard (I am a fan of swiftkey, but it seems somehow slow in my Nexus 7 3G with 7.1.2)
