After installing SinLessROM v5.1.1 I've noticed Android System is gobbling up my battery and I have no idea why. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Seems to be related to the GPE roms. 4.3 had a similar issue. Perhaps HTC frameworks or some kind of bloatware garbage ?
I did some testing with CM 11 over the weekend and battery life was amazing compared to GPE. Android system barely used any battery.
Unfortunately both 4.4 GPE and CM 11 have the exchange email bug so I'm back to 4.3 GPE for now.

Yes, I am using the same rom. The battery seems worse than 4.3

No ideas, but I would like to know more about this too. Seeing the same things on the same rom, your screenshot could have been made on my phone
Yeah, I had CM11 on before this and battery was pretty good, but that rom wasn't playing nice with the 4.4 camera and ART so thought I'd try this one out. Back to a CM based one it is then...
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

Make sure there aren't any wake locks or unnecessary syncing. Give 4.4 several charge cycles to to get the battery adjusted to the new firmware.

there are a lot off topic conversations going on the official Cyanogenmod ROM thread that have nothing to do with CM development and it'd be better for the community if we keep all those conversations..questions about CM in this thread..

Nice. Can't believe no one thought of this earlier.
Maybe a stupid question but I can't find it online.
What's the difference between Expirimental, nightlies, etc?
And what's the order of al these?

I mentioned it days ago in the Development thread.
I didn't start one because I can't keep the Original post updated.
Glad someone else who can started a thread.

Experimental is usually a build started by a dev to test changes made
Nightlies are builds scheduled every night regardless if changes have been made
Milestones have all the big bugs ironed out and signify overcoming big developmental hurdles
RC (release candidate) is what it sounds like. It's a build that has the potential to be stable if no further bugs appear
Stable has all the bugs worked out.
Do we still have the Black screen during calls? I swore it worked this morning then all my calls went black. Didn't realize how important buttons were on calls to me until it happened. I'm on the latest nightly

Stock is better as it relies on sense framework for image processing. So, optimised for the one hw

No idea. I'd say no since someone would have to reverse engineer the HTC software. I don't see that happening, but it's just a guess.

Too bad... Hopefully someone will create some kind of AOSP-Stock-Hybrid-ROM.
I will ask in Q&A if somebody is already at it, if not i will see if i can spare some time to get involved into Android developing and try to create one...
Issues
Apologies if I have missed anything where this has been covered before. I have read pretty much every page of the dev thread. I have been an xda user for years but only just opened an account to ask a couple of questions.
I can report the proximity/ blank screen during calls still exists with 18052013 nightly. Not that I saw anything about this in the change log.
Can I ask if this is any issue for everybody with the HTC One or just some? (I have the international version)
Is there a fix in the works for this?
It looks like the notification LED colour cannot be changed right now. I have tried a couple of colours but green is the only one that works.
I noticed something else small. The facebook app from the Sense 5.0 original ROM had the option to "sync only existing contacts" but with this ROM we have only "sync" which syncs all contacts. Not sure if this is an easy fix but it would be nice to have back. I do understand none of the "sense" apps or tools are available in AOSP.
Thanks for the hard work and helps everybody
Probably kind of random, but anyone have any luck with the One/CM 10.1 syncing with a Jawbone Up (a fitness monitor bracelet)? It worked fine on stock, but refuses to sync since moving to CM. I'm on the latest nightly. Any info appreciated!

So I noticed quite a big drain on the battery and on gsam it says that it's mostly drained by apps, not the screen, and the top 1 culprit is this kernel thing, any ideas how to remedy it, or is that completely normal?
Edit : I am completely stock on the 1.29 update

Try using Better Battery Stats to find out what it is. If i had to guess i would say msm_hsic is it or maybe a wifi wake lock. there is no fix yet for msm_hsic.
It is intact this process, thanks, do you know if custom kernels/roms have this too or not?

Currently I'm on SlimBean 4.2.2, disabled the phone app since I only use Skype+WiFi with it. Battery drains fast. What's the best ROM out there for battery? 4.1, 4.0?

Probably cm7. I'm using it on my phone right now and it last forever. Could probably go 2 days on a charge.

When I saw these stats from my gsam app I got pretty worried and confused. Can any one help me figure out what is exactly keeping my phone up so much?
I dont have Google now enabled so I'm not sure what the heck "Google services" are waking my device that many darn times. this is a screenshot from yesterday. I downloaded wakelock detector and I'll post screenshots from that too.

Here are screenshots from today which even though I've barely been using my phone I'm still getting pretty bad drainage. I'm on viper 1.2.1 stock kernel any help is greatly appreciated please don't tell me to reflash the Rom though as I'm almost positive it's not an issue with the Rom itself
Thanks for any help guys really appreciated

Not quite sure. I guess the first step would be to start disabling any google made apps that you dont use..... Do you have any consistent running background programs? When was the last time you rebooted your phone?

I posted screenshots from the wake lock app and it looks like I'm getting high wake locks from the lockscreen. Is this normal? I rebooted my phone and I don't have any consistently running apps that I know of.
If anyone else could give any input

my wakelock for lockscreen says 54s (x163)
IdleScreen:event_15 (29s) (x42)
IdleScreen:command_15 (25s) (x121)
But these should just be swiping up for unlock and putting in my pattern..... so..... yeah. no idea. Do you use Greenify?
Every sense 5.5 Rom I try they all have the same issues. Like can't create a new text because the icons on top do absolutely nothing. Changing the sms notification sound fc the app.

Frankly, I'm just going to wait for the 4.3 kernel source to be released and tweaked. I've played with several 4.3 ROMs, but if I can't Swipe2Sleep/Swipe2Wake, there's aren't enough advantages to 4.3 5.0 or 5.5 to make me switch yet. Just my opinion.

Just seems that 5.5 is insanely buggy... Love the ui though. Just wish I had better luck. I know everyone puts in tremendous amount of work into these ROMs. I really appropriate all of that don't get me wrong. So many ROMs have moved to 5.5 and I just don't get how they deal with the bugs

There is a bug with how HTC implemented the Android Developer Options in settings. You need to go to Settings/Developer Options/Advanced and turn on animations. Everything will work then.

This. There is no official 5.5 for sprint yet - all of the existing 5.5 roms are ports, and they've all been out a relatively short time. They'll eventually work out the bugs, or Sprint will come out with an official 5.5, and everyone will switch over to that base. Personally, I'm happy running a bug free 5.0 rom until then. Plus, I use the islandia camera theme like all the time and I'm in no rush to lose that.
