(noob here)
I am going to install TWRP (using this way) but I have CWM installed. Do I need to uninstall CWM or is that not necessary?
You can just use CWM to flash TWRP. After the flash, reboot.
Next time you go to recovery it will be TWRP.

Have you looked at the 4EXT touch recovery thread in the Development section? If you are properly rooted, 4EXT touch recovery should be able to overwrite CWM without any issues.
Yeah i downloaded the 4EXTRecovery installer and chose the option to install the recovery. I got a message after sometime saying that the recovery had been successfully installed. But on rebooting it was still CWM.
Never mind. I just had to download the recovery.img and use fastboot to flash it manually.
HEy Guys, i just wanted to Install the flashable zip of the newest TWRP over the current CWM. It said okay, but i still get the CWM Recovery. The App Rom Manager says that my current recovery is TWRP, but it isnt, i only get to CWM.
Im not into that stuff like adbfiles or fastboot mode, this is to hard for me to try.
Isnt there another option to get TWRP running?
thanks
Should not be flashing the phone if adb/ fastboot is too hard

Dude go 2 fastboot. Then flash the twrp file the same way u did when u first installed cwm after unlocking the bootloader(using command prompt). There might b a flashable zip directly, but I wud advise u use the fast boot method.
Dont flash. Use fastboot.
Put the recovery file in your SDK root on your computer and hook up your phone
Go to fastboot in bootloader
Then
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.zip
Another option is Flashify app on play store. Flash recovery with that without the adb hassle.

Hello,
I've got a HTC One which is having trouble. When I flash teh latest TWRP or CWM recovery it says ''Entering Recovery'' goes black screen then goes back to Entering Recovery''. But when I install the old version of TWRP it works??
Anyway... I've deleted everything via TRWP by mistake so I've no ROM installed. I'm trying to push the zip but no luck, so I'm wondering If I can flash a ROM via ''Fastboot'' instead of installing through ''Recovery''

You can't flash a rom from fastboot, only in recovery mode. The only thing you can flash in fastboot mode are RUU, Firmware and recovery.
What os the recovery version that was booting fine? What version of TWRP are you trying to install now? What rom do you want to flash? Do you have erased cache and rebooted the bootloaded after flashing the recovery?
Phone: h811
Current Rom: CM 6.0
I have successfully flashed twrp 3.0 using adb but when i reboot to recovery, i keep getting cyanogenmod recovery. Romtoolbox even says twrp is my current recovery. What's the deal? I want to make a backup using TWRP before I flash anything. How do I go back to TWRP?
Thanks!!!

Got it...I used flashify to flash the recovery and it worked. Not sure why ADB didn't flash properly...i'm sure it was user error! Thanks for the suggestion!!
I unlocked boot loader and tried to install twrp from system,it says its installed but i cant enter it
How to flash twrp the best way
And can i remove twrp if i need to restore factory state and how to delete it?
Thank you
You could always try XperiaZdual-recovery, as long you don't flash another kernel. Its actually a tool that can help you flash the recovery (if not rooted yet, you must be on 5.0.2) using only a one-click solution. It does not give you root access and you should allow usb debugging in order to be able to flash. It installs TWRP and Philz recovery, during boot you can select either one of them using volume down for the first and volume up for the latter. Have fun.
