Hello dear forum members and helpers
Some time ago, I changed CID on my phone which was locked to O2, of course after unlocking bootloader and S-Off, and I converted my phone to google edition to taste KitKat. And since HTC is rolling out KitKat for unlocked version of HTC One, I would like to convert my phone to Unlocked International version to have KitKat and Sense.
How can I do that?
So my phone is S-Off, bootloader unlocked, and now my CID is GOOGL001. I can change it to superCID 11111111, but what to do next? Which RUU to install? I also need to have stock recovery for that version so I need firmware with bootloader in it?
I tried to find guide hot to convert to unlocked version but all I find is how to convert to Google Edition.
Thank you all!

Hello.
So to get things right...
Was your device originally a GPe device? Or did you convert it over?

I converted it to GPE. It was from O2 network. Not it is bootloader unlocked, S-Off, CID GOOGL001. On android KitKat 4.4

Does it make a difference? I'm asking because I have an original GPE and was thinking of trying Sense too.

You can, as @ensarba mentioned the IR remote, and other various HTC exclusive features. You can just flash a ROM that has a Sense base, e.g. Viper ROM. But if you want a full conversion you'll have to have S-OFF.

Ok, so all you have to do is to download an appropriate RUU, I recommend the Developer Edition (Brightstar US) RUU, which also gets updates very quickly.
Make sure that your Model ID matches the required one for the Dev Edition RUU. I believe its the AT&T HTC One's Model ID should do. Then change your CID to BS_US001 and run the RUU!
Hope this helps!

I meant if it made a difference if it was converted to GPE or born GPE when talking about going to Sense, if the procedure is different for some reason.
i Own a unlocked and rooted sprint htc one. I am using it in India.
It currently runs on android 4.3
i wanted to convert my phone to international unlocked developer edition so that i receive updates fast.
Is there anybody over here who can guide me towards my goal by referencing to some step wise procedure or so...?

Ok first off I'm not all that familiar with htc's ways. I know that with previous bootloader unlocks we were able to flash custom roms and what not. Now with S-off we are able to change anything on the phone software wise. So that being said is carrier branding not so much an impact now?
For instance,
My phone is an att htc one which can receive AT&T ota updates. I know with the bootloader unlock I was able to flash international roms and have all the updated goodies of the international phone owners. But that being said I was still not able to receive international OTA updates since I was still branded AT&T.
Is the Cid what determines this?
If so, with s-off can we just change it to the international, developer edition, or any other carrier ID that we choose. Then flash an RUU from that carrier and then practically be the same as having the international or developer edition phone? Would we then be able to receive OTAs just like the dev or international editions get?
Yes, you can run any RUU on your phone. That does not guarantee everything will work, however.
Flashing firmware from another carrier won't get you OTAs from them. Getting OTAs is a combination of your CID and your carrier. I can tell you from my experience with the One X, lots of folks who got AT&T phones and took them overseas after sim unlocking never got any AT&T OTAs. So I doubt it would work on this phone either.
I don't know what will happen with the Google edition, when it comes out. I don't think anyone knows until it's released. It's possible you will get OTAs from Google if you can get that on your phone.

Thanks for your response.
Ok say for instance I buy an HTC One Dev edition strait from htc. I then put that phone on at&ts service. I would stiill get ota's strait from htc right?
So for my at&t branded htc one with s-off. Assuming that I have the cid from the dev edition and a stock dev edition ruu, what else would be there to stop me from getting ota's strait from htc like the dev edition does?
First off, to use dev ruu you need supercid.

So you couldnt install a dev ruu with the dev cid? What else would keep it from installing?
Ok let me put it like this. As far as I know there is no hardware differences between the htc one dev edition and the htc one at&t edition. That being said since we have s-off and are now able to change anything and everything on the phone software wise, can we not convert our at&t devices over to htc one dev editions and get OTAs directly from HTC and what not?
what is supercid? cid - 11111111?

yes that is supercid
As long as you have the dev edition cid and the dev edition ruu, theoretically you should get the OTA updates. Same with the Google Edition because these two are not carrier branded and the updates come directly from HTC and Google.

I thought Google will be the one releasing all the updates for the Nexus edition (Google experience) phones?
Consider Developer Edition still stuck on 4.12, I would hope Nexus edition updates are handled by Google not HTC

Hey everyone,
I am new to the HTC world, coming from Samsung, and have some questions. I can't seem to find the answer so I'm hoping someone here can help out.
I am currently S OFF and Bootloader unlocked. I am interested in changing my MID and CID so I can receive OTA updates faster. AT&T is way too slow.
From what I've read I need to change my MID and CID to flash a developer edition or international edition RUU.
My question comes in two parts:
1. Which CID is most fast at giving updates and
2. What is the cooresponding MID?
On a side note, if anyone knows, how do I find out which RUU to flash, generally from what I've read, the filename isn't very descriptive as to which CID it's for.
Thanks,
RPelham

Well I am not sure flashing the intl version will give you all the things you need to run on AT&Ts network but for the Dev Edition the CID is BS_US001 and the MID is PN0712000.

Hello, I have bought Second hand HTC ONE and I am very confused from all those versions and s-off's (came from Samsung phones)
So first I need help identifying my htc one version (bands etc) as I suspect that I the seller cheated me.
I will try to give you all the information I have so please help me =]
CID:
BS_ US001
Info from htc site:
Model: HTC One
Sales to: USA
Release date: 2013/05/16
Software version:
1.29.1540.17
android 4.1.2
bootloader is locked.
phone is 32gb
can you please tell me what version (European, American etc and what bands it got cuz I am really clueless) I have and weather I can have ota's or not.
thank you very much.
Pretty sure that's a Developer Edition handset (US-only)

Yea but aren't the Dev edition only being sold in 64GB?
EDIT:
How can I know the cid of the phone wasn't changed?
You can't, if someone changed it to the CID/MID of the Developer Edition to flash the RUU then that's what you have. You could change the CID/MID to the EU unbranded handset, flash the RUU and see how that goes?
But yes, the Dev Edition was 64GB only

So if the HTC site says that it "Sales to: USA" I should check the USA variants ? (this is the site that checks your serial and imei if I am not clear enough).
I'd be looking at the unlocked HTC One available from HTC online:

Hello together,
im confused about the numbers in the firmware releases.
I got 5.11.401.10 on my phone. As i read x.x.401.x means that this is the stock firmware.
No idea whats the difference to a x.x.1540.x custom firmware ...
Im on 5.11.401.10 but not sure if this is the latest avalible so far ...
Regards,
Snot
x.x.401.x - WWE edition = what most people get on unlocked phones
x.x.1540.x - Developer edition = for factory S-OFFed developer phones
Difference is almost nothing.
ok i got a x.x.401..x Version installed but S-OFF.
Is it inteligent to take a x.x.1540.x Version ? Whats the difference ?
Nothing at all.
So 5.11.1540.9 is the same custom firmware like 5.11.401.10 original ?
