Link to the tar file for whoever is interested. I kept getting buildprop issues trying to flash the zip.
On the plus side. I kept getting a message to fix root when leaving recovery. Haven't gotten it with this new version. Happened before in either TWRP or Phil's.

Stick it in a flowerpot, and apply some water. I advice watering it twice a day. After a week, you'll see the new grown roots.
Cheers, Markus

If you dont have CWM as a recovery, you will first need to flash a cwm recovery image through odin. [or heimdall]
If you do have CWM as recovery try to flash a SU package [Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip?]. That will root / install superuser on your device.
Once both are done you can proceed with backingup&& flashing new roms.
Goodluck.

download the "PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-5.11.2-signed.zip" file:
http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=23431#files
put on external sd, reboot to recovery and install update from external storage (something like that) and flash .zip file.

Yeah, that's exactly what You have to do.
Maybe for more explanation.
Place the downloaded file on Your EXTERNAL sdcard (main folder- root folder)
1)Turn off Your phone.
2)Hold Power button+ Volume Up + Home button untill You see the Samsung N7000 logo (then release it)
3)Choose install zip from external sd card
4)Choose the downloaded file, accept.
5)Congratulations, You're done. Reboot Your phone.

The root method used in this thread only involves changing the kernel..which will not have any effect on the data.

If you can't find in anywhere, then you extract it from the KitKat factory image and flash it via fastboot.

If I was about to use it once I would have done that but I need it to use it more often and i don't want to use fastboot every time for it.

You can flash also the recovery image using FlashImageGUI.
I have had my atrix HD for a couple of weeks now. I have figured out how to root it and unlock the boot loader. I have installed cwm 6.0.2.8 and flashed the stock JB 4.1.1. Now I have flashed an older PAC ROM with cwm but after reading about some ROMs like carbon it said to use cwm 6.0.4.5 I believe to flash it. I believe you can flash the newer cwm with an older cwm. My problem is it fails every time I try to flash the newer cwm. Am I missing something?
