google analytics - missing users

Hi Guys,
Just noticed a weird thing... I've published an app in several stores and some of them claim that it was downloaded >100 times. However - on Google Analytics for my app I see significantly less users/sessions than I would expect based on numbers from stores... Anyone has similar problem? Was just wondering - maybe it would be better to adjust somehow the dispatch time?

I'm experiencing a similar issue since I linked Google Analytics to Google Play and upgraded to V3 API version. Are you using V3 too?
me too

In your case, a i think developer console is delayed (usually for a day). Or people download your app from other source.
Google update 2 days before, so you need to wait
Try to use other Google Analytics alternative. I think it would be better to have another to check and balance.
I have/had similar problems. I'm only providing the apps on the Google Play Store, but even there the statistic differs from the one provided by Google Analytics. But the data in the developer console is in my opinion more real than those from the analytics page
App promotion for free.
Hi, my name is Anton and I am manager in young ad company.
Now we started to work with appsflyer, and we need to setup our tracking system.
We can promote your app for free (provide you CPI and CPC traffic) if you will implement appsflyer SDK, (that will be helpful for you in future) and help our engineers to set the post-back.
Please let me know if you are interested, and we will discuss how many installs we will give you for your help.
I look forward to working with you.

There might be more than one reason. If you use one of the latest Analytics APIs, then it might not work on old devices. And some users might not have internet connection for a long period after they install the app.
It is Google

All Google services works strange sometimes

In Device-Only GPS mode Google maps persists suggesting High accuracy mode

{This is almost certainly not specifically an Atrix HD/MB886 problem but I was not quite sure where else this might go. }
Since Google Maps was updated to anything after 9.0.0:
When using Device only GPS mode; Google Maps persistently suggests using high accuracy mode even
though GPS device only mode is working fine and has lock.
View attachment 3050442
The map pivots and centers to the correct location behind the prompt but the prompt must be obliged each time you refresh the GPS location. Does not stop after the first time you hit ignore as was the case in previous version. Only stops away if High accuracy mode is used.
Motorola Atrix HD/MB889, presently running CM11 MSM8960 jbbl 12/5/14 nightly with PA Gapps Nano 11/21/14 but also replicated in:
Stock JB AT&T, Dalvik,
CM11 recent nightlies with ART or Dalvik
PA Gapps Nano and Pico 11/21/14
Fresh minimally configured installations
Built out with my apps and settings
Does not occur in Google My Tracks or Google Earth
Workaround is to restore TBU of Google Maps 9.0.0
The only thing I can think of at this point is that this is related to the Google account with which the phone is associated although, in the short time since Google Maps 9.1.0 came out there have been 2 same version updates within 9.1.0 as well as an update to 9.1.1 and another to 9.1.2 so I'm thinking it's a Google problem. I've not captured logs (will do so at next fresh flash) nor have I configured the phone with a different primary gmail account but I'm hesitant to do that.
Fishing to see if anyone else is experiencing this. Do tell
Thank you.

The 9.x series seems to be causing issues all over the place. I've had to see users drop down to 8.4 on some devices to get it to work properly. It all comes down to the libs within it and whatever other changes they made outside of material look/feel.

Well then misery loves company, as it were, and thanks for that info. Even in the more rapid stream of updates to all things Google in accommodation of Lollipop, this Maps thing stands out, and it seems like they are chasing something. Funny thing is it might not even be a fix to this issue I've mentioned here.
Finally fixed with update to Maps v9.2.0.

Living without PlayStore

So... I've searched for a similar thread, but I didn't found any so I decided to make a new one.
As I don't want to use any google services on my telephone I had to purge Play Store also. I've searched for alternatives. I came across Fdroid - actually the store I've searched for. The only problem I've faced is there are no proprietary apps. I try to reject using of proprietary software as much as possible, but many of my friends use proprietary chat apps like WhatsApp, Viber etc.
So I've searched a solution to get this proprietary apps without much tricks...just keep it simple. I came across Aptoid - another android store, but I didn't liked the idea behind very well - you can find lots cracked apps etc. and that is not what I am looking for. Second point is - all apps are outdated - so you are missing the new version of the apps and their security and performance fixes. It didn't suited my needs so I decided to purge Aptoide.
So... after a bit of research I founded another two solutions:
APKmirror - it is a website - there is no app for it. So If you want to use it you have to go to the website and download and install .apk manually (you also need to enable Untrusted Sources in your security settings). The website has very nice interface and it looks exactly as a normal appstore. I've bookmarked it and placed it on my homescreen - so it is usable - no pain in the *** at all. The packages seems to be "trusted" as the packet signature is checked with the one of the original developer. All apps are updated - you can even download beta versions (before they hit PlayStore) and if it goes wrong... you can easily downgrade to previous verions - very nice feature. This site is related to Android Police - as it is a good source in my opinion, I think the packages there are trust-able. Is there anyone who has additional info about APKmirror?
APKpure - the second solution I came across. I wasn't able to find any additional information about this source or any review so I really have no idea who is standing behind this project. Anyway... I downloaded several apps and I checked the app signature and it seems fine - every app I checked matched the original signature of the developer. There are also "Trusted" marks same as APKmirror. All of the apps are updated. It looks pretty much like APKmirror - there is no app, just website. You can easily update your applications too so it suit all my needs. Anyway... I would like to get some additional information about it... it seems to me like mirror of PlayStore but... anyone who knows more maybe?
Apkpure has a app that you can download. Just have to watch certain apps such as play games will update to the 038 version when I am completely updated to the 030 version in the play store. Apkmirror describes this on their website when you download certain apps. Just though you should know about the app.
One thing I miss Fromm the Google play store is Google games for backup of games data and achievements. When cyanogen finishes partnership with the social gaming network, play games or whatever it's called, I'll hopefully be able to get away from the Google play store. Course devs would have to enable those servers for achievements etc, which is a long shot. Till then helium is my best friend I guess.

It is true that Google Play Services has stopped working on FireOS tablets?

Some Fire users have been complaining, about problems with Google Play Services, that apparently has stopped working on some Amazon Fire Tablets with FireOS a couple of days ago.
Others also have mentioned that this could be due to the new FireOS update, that was released.
Does anyone have noticed this strange behaviour with the Google-Play-Services and Goggle-Play-Store?

I suspect this is indeed due to the recent bump in FireOS to 5.3.2 that breaks root and may disrupt existing Play Services/Store/apps installs. If validated rolling back to 5.3.1 offers a path to root and fully functional Google Play Services. Always a good idea to block OTA updates so you (not Amazon) if/when updates are applied.
Totally true!
They are working awefully on my tablet! Can't even watch youtube videos. I managed to get the play store working, but youtube is driving me crazy!

May have to decide between the latest the features in FireOS 5.3.2 vs Google components. Rolling back to 5.3.1 is one option; custom ROM is another.

With the last update, the tablet is running buttery smooth, but google play and youtube are ruining my day.
...So hard to decide!
I can confirm that the latest OS updates breaks most Google apps (Drive and Chrome seem to be OK).
I am on a formerly 5.0.1 tablet that had been rooted and converted to CM 12.1 back last December. Google Play Store has also stopped working for me just a couple of days ago.
I should also note that I have tried all the usual remedies, for example flushing the various caches including the dalvik cache, removing and re-adding the Google account and so on. Nothing had any effect on the problem. The symptom I see is that the download appears to proceed, but never finishes. After about 15 minutes I get an error #492.. I was just about to reflash the tablet with the latest CM 12.1 release when I saw this thread. I'm still using the release from a year ago.
I further note that I monitored network traffic on my routing machine using tcpdump and did not see anything to indicate that the tablet was actually downloading from the Google Play Store.
---------- Post added at 05:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:57 AM ----------
An additional note:
I've just tried implementing 2 factor authentication on my Google account. It had no effect on the download problem I mentioned earlier.
---------- Post added at 05:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 AM ----------
And yet another note:
I removed Google Hangouts from the tablet, which was the app I was trying to update originally. I was able to download and reinstall it without difficulty, but it called for an updated "Google Play Services". That one will not download. That is where I've been getting the lack of actual progress and the eventual #492 error after 15 minutes. So for me at least, it seems some difficulty with "Google Play Services", and perhaps not with the "Google Play Store" app.

Issues have been reported with the current build of Google Play Services and/or Store on a wide variety of devices. None of my custom Amazon devices exhibit this behavior but a tablet from another manufacturer running a stock rom does. Very frustrating. Hopefully Google is working on a fix.
You probably already have, but have you installed the newest Google framework and supporting files? I have one of the new Fire 8 HDs and it updated to 5.3.2; I followed the directions on this site but downloaded the latest Google framework and files and it works absolutely fine. Maybe worth a try if you haven't already.

Edit: seems my post won't show the entire URL. So, google search "install google play on fire 8 hd 2016" then pick the one on "The e-Book Reader" blog (should be the first one that pops up)

Thanks for your suggestion....
I did try this, and unfortunately nothing changed......
I'm going to give up and reflash.......

De-Google-ing my Note 9

Hi guys. I'm starting this thread in hopes of sparking a conversation and a concerted effort to rid ourselves as users from the clutches of Google and other big tech companies. I am sick and tired of Google tracking me and attempting to force feed me ads on a daily send constant basis. Then selling my info to other companies such as Facebook. So, I have started down the path of decluttering (De-Google-ing) my device(s). I am primarily interested in securing my device as much as possible and protecting my privacy.
So far, I have reformatted my entire device to factory default settings installed and using F-Droid (FOSS) for all my apps. I use Yandex as my search engine (I am often to suggestions and recommendations) in the "private browser" app. I use Aurora instead of Google Play store, New Pipe for YouTube-ing, Frost for Facebookingand SlimSocial for Twitter. I have stopped using Google keyboard and any other Google apps. I have abandoned gmail and replaced it with proton mail instead. So far, no ads and as far as I can tell, no tracking. I have also installed a VPN and am using it religiously—Cyber Ghost, a $99 for 3 years subscription with support up to 8 devices.
However, I am still very much connected to Samsung for I am not privy as to whether or not Samsung is as sinister as Google and Facebook.
Again, I am open to all suggestions, corrections and recommendations. Thank you and I hope to engage with you all.
