I was given a Samsung galaxy tab 7.0 from my friend and was wondering the correct root and recovery install method. I have the T Mobile version. If someone could inform me or point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

You can root in a few minutes using these instructions;

Then use Titanium Backup Pro to freeze the items listed that you have;

Use Odin to flash the ics firmware. Go to sammobile.com to find the firmware.

well, this isn't a tab 3 forum.
It is a the original 7" P1000 forum.

Hello everyone,
I tried to update my gear to the latest version of the software, but every time the gear is installing the software it stops at 25%. Then it just restarts and my note 3 says again to update the gear and it all starts over again.
Does anyone have an idea what to do?
Thank you!

Have you altered the firmware or rooted?

I only installed the Null rom, but that didn't seem to be a problem with earlier updates.

In that case, we need more details. What are you running? What are you changing to? How are you updating?

I've had this problem for a bit. I can't install most any apps on my Tab 2. I guess it's from an auto-update to 4.2.2?
Is it easy to downgrade? I just had to flash this ROM to get it back up and running but I'm stuck with this issue of not being able to install anything.
I thought you have a P1000 in the other thread?
Or is it Tab 2?

I've never said P1000. It's Tab 2 (P3113).
Gee. Then you are in the wrong forum and could have followed my direction wrongly and truly bricked your device.
This is a P1000 Galaxy Tab forum.
