I noticed a few days ago that the gear manager was no longer working on my phone. The gear was still paired to the Bluetooth on my Note 3. I updated the gear manager software but it would never connect the gear. I decided to just start over with the gear so I flashed the stock Rom using Odin. I also uninstalled the gear manager software on the phone. I let the gear boot up and it started the gear manager connection app. Then I touched the cradle to the back of my phone. The gear manager software installed and when it started I get a message saying:
Unable to connect to the Gear. Connecting to the Gear is not supported by you're mobile device, or your software needs to be updated. Check that your mobile device is able to connect to the gear then update your mobile device software.
I decided to flash the stock Rom again and now it will not go into download mode. Any ideas?
Try deleting the gearmanager backup folder on your sd card.

HI!
I have a problem with my Galaxy Gear 1.
I recently upgraded my Nexus 5 with Android 5.0 Lollipop and now I can not sync with the Gear 1.
I use this tutorial :
Install gearmanagerstub.apk on your phone
Download Gear Manager 1.6.111801 — and rename the APK to ZIP
Open the ZIP and go to assets/preinstallapks
Install each of the individual APK files to your device one by one (note that music and weather will not install)
Install the full Gear Manager 1.6.111801 APK (the actual APK, not the ZIP)
Pair your Galaxy Gear to the phone (it may take more than a few tries either by NFC or manually)
Install ATNManager 1.2.2
Allow ATNManager access via Settings > Security > Notification Access
Within ATNManager, choose what notifications you'd like to receive on your Galaxy Gear
the problem is when i try to sync with my phone, stays in "Conect with Gear" and a sign appears "Error to conect with phone" but in bluetooth phone list it's linked.
Anyone can help me?

Hi,
I am running Cyanogenmod 11 on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and I am trying to get Gear Manager to work so that I can connect to my Gear 2.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Gear Manager from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573200&nocache=1 (version 2.2.15011799).
What happens is that Gear Manager launches and finds the Gear. It pairs and continues to download and installed some additional software. When this is done it starts trying to connect to the Gear, but after a few seconds I get the message "Unfortunately, Hostmanager has stopped." When I tap "OK" it continues trying to connect and the same message is displayed again, and so it continues.
Then I found this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723862 and I downloaded this .zip file from under "Fix "Galaxy Gear Connecting" forever".
First I tried installing only the HostManager.apk, since this is the one that crashed (I actually had to uninstall the version already installed in order to install the one I downloaded in the .zip file - probably because the one Gear Manager installed itself is newer than the one in the .zip).
Now I launch Gear Manager and tap the Gear (under paired devices) and Gear Manager asks to install HostManager. I tap "Cancel" because I want to keep the one I installed from the .zip file. Gear Manager then continues to try to connect to the Gear, but nothing happens and I seem to be in the situation of "Fix "Galaxy Gear Connecting" forever" from the link I posted above.
I then went on to install all the .apks from the .zip file I downloaded earlier. A couple had to be uninstalled before it let me installed the version from the .zip. Three apps from the .zip file were not installed (I don't really know why). There were SAFotalProvider, SAFTCore_signed and WeatherProvider. (The app called "saproviders" gave the same "Unfortunately, saproviders has stopped." immediately after installing.)
Now I go back to Gear Manager and try to connect to the Gear again, but still it's still stuck at "Connecting to Gear".
Any tips on how to get Gear Manager up and running and connect to the Gear 2 would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Z
Hi. I'm also running cm11 on my galaxy s3 and I want to connect my gear 2. I tryed to install gear manager but I have this message "Package File is invalid".
I'm sorry Zlama I can't help you
I have an Asus Zenfone 2. I've installed the Gear manager and it's apk files (extracted them from the original apk as a Zip file). I managed to connect the Gear to my mobile and even install watchstyler and apply it's watch faces (don't remember if i installed through Samsung store of from an apk file).
Than I got greedy and tried to use a newer Gear manager and it all stopped working. I tried to re-install everything but no matter what I do, I cannot see the watchstyler watch in the gear manager options, so i can't apply a new watchstyler watch face on the gear1.
No matter if I re-install the gear to stock rom (At first i use the awesome null 23), I can't make it work anymore. Now when i install samsung store, i can't see any items in the store (i think this is the real problem, the store recognizes I'm not using Samsung device) so I wan't install the watchstyler through the store. I can connect the gear to my device with the gear manager but can't see the watchstyler watch in the manager.
Any ideas how to solve this problem? I think that one of the best things in the gear are the watch faces
Thanks
version JDQ39.V700XXUAMK7
Manager version 1.6.111801
I've tried installing other watch face apps (as apk) that I had in the past. I forgot to pair my device with the watch and got a message that the installation failed and will be complete after i pair the two. So it seems that maybe all these apps need to install something in the watch itself but can't for some reason. Any ideas?
Which version of gear manager were you using before?

Same version as the one mentioned above.
Hello all,
For good or bad I purchased the gear 1 without fully investigating compatibility with J5, never occurred to me that a 2015 phone running 5.1.1 one of the latest android OS and having 1.5gb ram would be?
Anyway so, how to go around it, cracked version of the gear manager? Unlocking the device ? Going back to android ? Which is best?
Thanks in advance.
PS. What about that crazy hit and hold combination on YouTube ?

1. I went into the gear manager stub file, and then the Lollipop folder located in that folder. Downloaded, installed in /system/app and corrected the permissions.
2. Downloaded Samsung Gear Manager 2.2.15022599, and installed all of the extracted APKS. goproviders and saproviders will crash when installed.
3. I then restarted my phone, and wiped both the cache and dalvik cache. I then proceeded to open gear manager. (Make sure to do this with your data and WiFi connections turned OFF)
4. I opened Gear Manager and attempted to sync my gear 2 with the phone, and HostManager kept crashing. Hitting the home button, I went into the app manager and uninstalled HostManager. I then installed the HostManager from the 2.2.14100299 version of Gear Manager using ES File Explorer.
5. I quickly turned off the Bluetooth connection on my HTC, and then turned it back on. The watch said connection failed, then attempted to sync again, and managed to successfully sync, taking me to the terms and conditions page.
6. The media controller fix I discovered on accident while trying to get E-mails working. Saproviders kept crashing when trying to go to the option, so I uninstalled SAproviders and installed version 2.0.87. Can't remember what version of Gear Manager it came from. This caused the media controller to start working with no problems. E-mails manage to get to the next screen, then crashes when attempting to setup an account.
So basically I followed the method I quoted, using the poster's dropbox link to the correct files. I hope that helps.
credits to @ycats , works with my gear 1 aswell even thou hes got gear 2
download the files from this link but the version mentioned above n the same procedure

Hey thanks,
Ok this are great instructions that will follow just one question.
Since my phone is a Galaxy J5 and is already running touchwiz rom, so I was able to actually load gear manager from the Galaxy store.
But says phone incompatible, is there any specific step that bypasses this security?
Thanks

Ok tried it this way and whichever gear manager I load it comes bask asking to update to latest version with no workaround and latest version just prompts that my device is incompatible ? Any ideas ?
Ok managed to connect and everything works only problem is that saproviders crash and I get no notifications, not even SMS.
Although the most anoying thing is the system trying to update the app to its incompatible latest version.
Ok got it to work 90% of the functions . With limited hustle on 5.1.1 J5.
Nevertheless I am really disgusted with Samsung and it's policy, it's almost like they hate the J5 regardless of its success . They only wanna sell A and S class devices even if they lose money which they do. Really bad marketing.

Well it was after all a lot simpler than I thought could be. Routed the J5 changed build prop to S5 uninstalled all old and voila. Everything works based on the latest Samsung gear manager, it auto downloaded all apps and calendar, call log, e-mail, everything works.
Even changed back to the normal J5 and still all is fine.
So bravo to Samsung for not officially supporting on of the most hot in sales device, that otherwise is fully compatible. FYI my device is the J500FN running official 5.1.1 touchwiz rom.
Anyone else with a J5 (should also work on J7) that needs help let me know.
