[Q] Bricked on Blue Logo - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been using Unofficial CyanogenMod 10.2 for the Kindle Fire HD 7" since it first came out without any problems. Basically, I just upgrade it with TWRP every time Hashcode releases a new version....well it finally didn't work. His thread is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2388341
I flashed the latest version, [11/15] BETA CM10.2 + 3.0.50+ KERNEL two days ago. It got stuck in boot so I rebooted successfully. I've been using it for 2 days now and finally rebooted. This time when I reboot, I get stuck on the Kindle Fire blue logo. I can't do anything from there. I can't get into TWRP.
What do I do?

Restore stock from fastboot, I believe with 2nd boot loader installed you can simply plug the device I to your PC after running "fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product" and it should goto fastboot and u can restore stock boot loader, recovery, and os from kffa and restart the process. I think people have had issues with this lately or at least something similar because of selinux being added to twrp and cm 11. Just a guess though.

Thank you! Uh...so I ran the fastboot line and I've got the fastboot logo...but I'm not quite sure how I should go about restoring the stock boot loader, recovery, and OS as you've said. Am I basically factory resetting? Will I be able to get my backed up ROM back?

Well, you have a couple options. If you're in fastboot then you can opt to to a full system restore. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
If you can get into TWRP, you can push a ROM (or a nandroid if you have one) onto TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459498 You always want to pull a nandroid off your tablet every now and again for just such a case.

I have kfhd7 and i updated it from cm12.1 to cm13 but after the reboot it is now stuck on white-blue "kindle fire" logo. everytime i reboot it shows the white-yellow logo and then gets stuck on the blue one. moreover, i cant get to twrp3 using keys as it gets stuck and device gets hot.
Tried fastboot and adb but the devices is shown offline. I dont have access to a fastboot cable and even dont hope that i will get one shipped sooner. kinldy help

You'll be fine once your fastboot cord arrives. Reference this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37169349 to return to 7.2.3 stock. And reference this video http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oaNM-lt_aHw&desktop_uri=/watch?v=oaNM-lt_aHw to get your ADB drivers properly installed.

Fastboot cord uses fastboot commands while in fastboot. This is the link to Kindle Fire FirstAid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888 Once you follow the steps for setup and run it, you will choose number 3 to go back to 7.2.3 When asked if you want to reboot into fastboot, choose no because you are in fastboot.
You can use the regular USB to get into fastboot mode but not now that you are in a bootloop. After running KFFA to restore to 7.2.3 you will also use it to root and remove OTA updates then install gapps or if you are going to go custom romm with 2nd bootloader and TWRP recovery, skip gapps and move on to the latter. Do NOT use KFFA to install TWRP/2nd bootloader or any ROM. Use FireFlash.

So you're saying that you had a bootloop and you ran Kindle Fire FirstAide. Which numbers/options did you press? Plugging that fastboot cord in will power your Kindle Fire HD and send it into fastboot no matter the battery charge. Where did you get the fastboot cord from? A reliable source? I'm only asking because if the battery were low and the wire that connects pins 1 to 4 (think) that energize the Kindle into fastboot mode are somehow faulty, then this would stop the kindle from going into fastboot. However, if the fastboot cord is working, it would seem you have a hard brick. I will look around to see if there is a solution for this.

Thanks for help mate. I bought it from amazon and it seemed to be the most reliable source http://www.amazon.com/EarlyBirdSavi...ywords=kindle+factory+cable&tag=s601000020-20
I firstly reboot the bootloader couple of times like people suggested me. When that didn't help I restored it and like i gave a detail in other post that it took fair amount of time like 45 mins of reading and writing the .img files. Even the message was prompted that 'Your kindle has been restored to 7.2.3, the only thing is that all this while the display of my Kindle didn't changed and was fixed on 'Fastboot Kindle fire' logo. I was disappointed with this device from start due to that crappy kindle OS which made it way too slow and things kept freezing and crashing all the time. Since I am in colombia and used a freight service for this cable to be delivered, i ended up paying 30 USD for the cable. I don't think I will be sending it for repair , it just don't worth it the expenses for the repair and the shipping cost from Colombia and vice versa. May be will keep experimenting and looking on XDA if at some point of time hard brick issue could be fixed.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I can't turn ADB debugging on because there is no way to get access to the menu system. Is there another manner of fastbooting and of reflashing image you can possibly recommend to bypass not having access to the launcher? Again thanks in advance!
I'm not sure what is possible via fb other than adb. Try googling flash factory image & see what you find. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Yes,there is. The following commands will flash the boot, recovery and system images while in fastboot.
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot boot.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash system system.img
Hi im having problems with my kindle fire hd 2nd gen. I rooted and installed cm12 or 13 on it and it was working well but i lost root so i flashed Supersu through twrp now my device is bootlooping on the amazon fire boot screen. I couldn't get into fastboot so bought a fastboot cable which has arrived today (2 weeks from china) now when i plug it in the device goes into fastboot mode but my windows 10 shows it in device manager as Other Devices Tate -pvt-08. I cant issue commands through ADB (adb devices just shows nothing connected) if i enter the getvar command i just get waiting for device. I've reinstalled the kindle device driver and still no joy.
I also made a complete backup of my kindle before i rooted it which i have stored safely. but i need to know how i can push them to my kindle and how to make my laptop see the kindle.
I'm struggling now and pretty lost with it all if someone could lend a hand and tell me what im doing wrong

[Q] Kindle fire 7 HD can only access fastboot Help!!!

I've been trying to fix this for 5 days now I've been reading through forums for hours and I've now come to this I need some real help...
I have a Kindle Fire HD 7 store demo model..
I'm trying to root it and get rid of the store Demo restrictions
This is as far as i could get.
I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
To try and get back to factory settings but this didn't work.
I'm stuck in boot loop now ending in a red triangle screen telling me kindle couldn't boot correctly.
I have a fastboot cable so i can get to fast boot.
What I've been thinking is maybe I need to root first before anything in the above post will work but I'm not sure on that.
I haven't been able to discover my kindle in adb using cmd while in fastboot.. Not sure if that is possible in fastboot anyways.
So my real question is how can i either root my kindle in fastboot and flash twrp
I've tried to flash twrp a few times and it seems to have worked as far as cmd but when i get to the device nothing works.
I'm not rooted and I believe that to be the first step can anyone help me?
Please help..
If you don't have 2nd boot loader installed you can't install twrp and have it work... Also you don't need root for fastboot to work which is all that system restore tool uses.If it's in fastboot and it's a 7" model then it should have appeared in the device m,manager as a Tate device once you entered fastboot. Switch to a normal cable once you are in fastboot mode. Once that happens run "fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product" and see if it returns anything. If things still go nowhere I suggest trying an Ubuntu live 13.10 CD/USB stick. Tell me how it goes.

Fire HD 7" bricked no ADB and stuck on fastboot screen no loop

Thank you for all the help in advance!
Current state of device:
Fire HD 7" factory cable plugged in stuck on fastboot screen not loop just stuck no access to ADB (device not found[debian gnome])
I was deleting my previous ROM to go back to stock. I wiped my cache, os and everything then went to go and install the stock ROM and my little one managed to power the kindle down. I turned it back on to find kindlefire logo on the screen but it doesn't go past that. I built a factory cable and now it displays the fastboot logo but nothing else, not looping just frozen on the fastboot screen. So the computer [debian gnome] can't find the device when using ADB. (ADB is working with my other devices) I tried to follow a post about using the fastboot cmd to install the system.img, recovery.img and boot.img but did not know exactly what I was doing at that point. Is it done for? or is there hope?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
There is hope. You could try following the commands in the batch file from this post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
I've never tried it from Linux but so long as fastboot is working you should be able to flash the 3 images and then wipe data.
Thank you sooo much! this worked like a charm. I downloaded the img files and loaded them to the kindle via fastboot then rebooted and wala back to a fully functioning kindle. Thanks for the link!!!!
Glad to hear it helped you out.
Help me please
I have bricked my device. I can no longer get it past the bootloader Amazon image and can only get it into fastboot. Had root on device and was attempting to flash twrp so that i could install some custom roms. When flashing twrp the device restarted and has been stuck in a silver amazon bootloop. With the help of root junky's supertool i can get into factory recovery. but cannot sidload origional system back. I was gonna go back origional and re root. But can not get it out of bootloop. Tried using the system recovery thread found in second post on this thread and recieved an unsuccessful. Am i done for.... Kindle just stuck on fastboot screen now
Does your device have the front facing camera and the mini hdmi port?

Kindle Fire HD 7 Boot-Loop

So, here is what happened. I was trying to install CyanogenMod 12.1 on my Kindle Fire HD 7 (tate). I used the official guide on CyanogenMod's website, and I got up to the point where it wanted me to reboot into TWRP recovery that I had just flashed. I entered the command "fastboot -i 0x1949 oem recovery" like the guide had said to do after flashing the older bootloader, freedom boot, and TWRP, and it went back into fastboot mode. At that point, I knew that I had screwed something up. I unplugged the fastboot cable and rebooted the kindle using the power button, and then the kindle fire logo would loop. Can someone please help me out with this? Thanks! (If any of that didn't make sense, please ask and I will clarify!)

Need Help w/ Bricked Kindle Fire HD 8.9- red screen then fastboot?

Hi, I tried to install Cyanogenmod 10.1 on my KFHD8.9, but bricked it in the process. When I turn it on it shows the normal orange kindle fire logo, and then the screen swipes to a red screen, then swipes to fastboot. I can't boot into TWRP, or FireOS anymore. I couldn't find any threads to resolve my problem, so I decided to make one.
Here's what let up to this, step by step:
First, it's running 8.5.1
So I rooted it using the KingRoot windows application (not the .apk)
Then I downloaded TWRP recovery 2.6.0.0 (as per this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hd/8-9-development/root-install-twrp-android-fire-os-8-5-1-t3278286 )
I downloaded all the other files that said were needed.
I used the FireFlash11.apk, and followed the instructions exactly.
It booted into FireOS the first time, so I reflashed TWRP with FireFlash, and successfully booted into TWRP
I then realized I didn't actually have any ROMs ready to install, so I booted back into FireOS
I downloaded the files, and tried to boot back into TWRP (This is where things went wrong)
I held down the volume up button, just like you normally would, and waited three seconds. The screen flickered, said 'badi: boot image' and for some reason booted into fastboot...?
I looked online, and found that I should factory reset it, so I tried. It seemed to be going fine, until when it shut down. After I powered it back on, my current symptoms appeared (Red screen then fastboot).
I now cannot do anything besides that, so any and all help would be appreciated. Keep in mind that I'm kinda bad at this, and have only correctly flashed a rom using TWRP once, and that was by following a different guide on a different firmware kindle word-for-word, so I'm not quite sure what everything means.
Thanks in advance!

If you can boot into fastboot you should be ok.
Read this guide. It's old and file names may change but, the steps remain the same.
https://web.archive.org/web/20161224194648/https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_jem
If you are already in fastboot then start with Step 3.
Code:
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash bootloader kfhd8-u-boot-prod-8.1.4.bin
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery kfhd8-twrp-3.0.2-2-recovery.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot kfhd8-freedom-boot-8.4.6.img
fastboot oem recovery
That should boot you into TWRP recovery.
Just incase you need some files.
