the camera is obviously improved, night and day difference. what other changes have you spotted with 4.4.1?
i have noticed all volumes on the phone seem to be increased esp the unlock sound and speaker and haptic seems to feel different too.
anything else you guys have noticed?
Dialer bug seems to be fixed and also Unable to terminate call when line is busy seems fixed.
what was the dialer bug dont think i ever noticed it
I noticed haptic feels different. Speaker maybe a smidge louder. Camera is sick. Waiting for official change log.

Anyone having issues with unresponsive record button in video mod, by any chance? Photos are awesome now, however!
For camera I'm getting better color saturation when I turn off HDR+ but better detail with HDR+ (which is expected)
Right of the bat, I noticed the colors look a lot better. Whites are white not yellowish or is that just me?

There's a new kernel and radio.
fixed the issue where phone would not re-lock after missed call, when security was set to the classic slide.
Also noticing the upgraded sound quality and higher system sounds. "Neon" alarm ringtone used to crackle really bad, now it's perfectly fine.
Another small interface bugfix: in 4.4 when you pulled down the notification bar and locked the phone, the bar would remain black on the next unlock. Now it returns semi-transparent.
-lock after miss call
-fix emergency call only : http://productforums.google.com/for...tworks-and-devices/T5ey4dttBOA[176-200-false]
-better sound
Please continue this discussion in one of the (3) 4.4.1 OTA threads..

Anyone know how to disable the camera noises? I tried an app called silent snap but it didnt work? Also anyone got some advise on how to get the best out of the camera - settings that get us better images? For a 5mp camera ive been pretty disappointed with the camera results!
As I know, change your volume to silence , there will be no Camera sounds. Try that.
You can delete or rename the file /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg to get rid of the shutter sound...but you'll still get that beep sound when you focus.
So the best solution is probably to use the silent or vibrate profiles.
To silence the camera (including the focus beep!) I use Sound Manager from the Market. I set System Volume to the lowest. All other phone sounds that I care about work fine under this setting. I set it up to schedule zero system volume at 8AM every day. That way if the setting "falls off", it will fix itself regularly.
I bought camera360 pro..and I am happy with it
Attached the sample.. it captured with lomo cyan effect directly from milestone using camera360pro app

I think he's not talking about sounds! He means the "noise" of the picture, like the red pixels in night photos....

I was referring to the camera start and shutter sound. I was also hoping that people might post any settings they use to get the best out of their pictures

Worked for other things on my phone, but didn't not effect the focus beep at all. I have heard it is intentionally built to not be able to be disabled. It's quite loud too. Most be something in the OS or camera operating system that could disable it though.

Noise from high ISO shots are usually a problem with the sensor. You can use one of the alternative camera apps out there that might use less compression, but in the end noise from dark photos comes from the fact that this is:
a) a tiny sensor
b) a terrible sensor
c) the camera just isn't built for low light shots.
some software out there like Adobe Lightroom or Apple Aperture or even Noise Ninja are excellent at noise reduction. That's pretty much all you can do. As a dSLR shooter, I know I have to push ISOs sometimes and just hope for the best....
Hi,
What are the major changes in Gingerbread when compared with Froyo? What are the changes one can notice?
I've noticed that the App Drawer is now 4x4 based like the Galaxy S, except it is vertical based and you slide like an iPhone App Drawer, except vertically, the app drawer is also organized by the tabs below the drawer. (All Apps, Frequent, Downloaded)
A new mirror app.
Most widgets have a little visual change.
The OS is faster, more stable.
The notification bar now has two tabs, one for notifications, another one for Quick Settings, which allows you to toggle Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS etc.
The Battery Use screen is changed to a more detailed look (Added a graph).
Startup time is faster. (From Cold Boot)
In the Gallery, pinch zooming is now buttery smooth, not laggy anymore.
The weather animations now has sound effects added to them. You can turn the sound effects off.
Smoother weather animations.
That's all I've found.

The update notification states that "it will not clear any content on the phone".
Are all your contacts, call logs, sms messages etc still there after the OTA update?
Or do i have to backup my stuff to somewhere. . ? Hmm..

you don't have to back anything up. it updates everything without any deletion of apps/contacts
I would have really wished for there to be a sound profile option in the new quick setting feature but well, would just have to use the quick setting application.
In addition, the Camera app has a little change.
Now you can switch cameras without accessing in the hidden menu.
Video Recording now adds Stereo Recording, which uses the Dual Microphone technology to record sounds in Stereo, and it seems that the video recording in HD is now smoother, I think it is around 28 FPS to 30 FPS.
In Photo Taking mode, The menu has Auto Enhance added, which removes more noises, but keeping the photo in high quality.
Is there any change to the standard HTC keyboard? i.e. still have arrow keys on the right (in landscape mode), long-press on every key for alternate characters...

Mind taking some screenshots of the camera app and posting a video that demonstrates the Stereo Recording?
I wanna see how the Video Audio Quality is now as currently it sounds like a tin can when recording.
Thanks!
hi is it true that if you update the IS to gingerbread the wifi issue that desire s has also occurs in this phone? i've read somewhere that people updated to gingerbread and they got all this deathgrip kind of issue on wifi..
i hope those who have updated to gingerbread can confirm if this is true or not..thanks!
I was wondering - what would the perfect mash up of ROM features be, if I combined the stock ROMs from the manufacturers of Android devices I have owned?
I liked the Sense launcher and the widgets on HTC Wildfire S, which was my first Android device. Also the alarm clock. It was nice to look at.
The HTC broke up contact numbers in pairs of two, as they should be in Denmark, with 8 digits in phone numbers. The extended reboot menu, with shutdown, reboot and fast boot was a nice feature.
I miss the reboot option natively on the Z.
On i9100 I *hated* TouchWiz and the colors! Also, the lack of notification LED was a huge problem for me.
The lack of to disable the preview of incoming texts, so they would light up screen and scroll through the notification bar, had me starting using Handcent SMS.
Now I use Handcent, because it also can customize notification colors in the status bar, and notification LED color.
They i9100 on 4.0.0 firmware broke up contact numbers in pairs of two, that was good, but it could not disable the preview of incoming texts, that was bad.
Later firmware updates gave the ability to disable text preview, but broke up contacts in sets of 3-3-2, making the number difficult to read.
Call quality was lousy because of the forced noice cancelling and the weak antenna.
All in all the i9100, being a high end device, had some serious flaws when I come to think about it.
I liked the extended sound control panel in the i9100, and I miss it on the Z.
From CM I miss fast toggles to toggle 2/3/4G.
I would love the stock ROM on the Z to have customizable notification LED in the message app, and privacy box like Handcent SMS.
Aqua Mail beats stock mail app by a mile.
Z have a very stable software and a low amount of wake locks. I really like that. However, the screen really drinks all the battery no time - or so it feels like.
Do you have similar thoughts to share?

It is call experimental. Hmmm lets think about what should mean ??
Gesendet von meinem Z2 Pro mit Tapatalk
It means total crap, just installed it and after I realized that it have Google Camera instead of Cyanogen Camera App I've just restored from my last backup with the Unofficial MK71.1 because it is far better than this Experimental crap
Изпратено от моят Z2 Pro с помощта на Tapatalk
On my side, I just installed as well and I won't judge it as crap version so fast.
Give me 1-2 days to test and will give you my feedback.
Quick 1st overview:
Same as for the other ROMs, vibration is now working but no blinking LED.
Otherwise no chinese apps installed
I've rolled back to the unofficial mokee rom aswell. audio didn't work for me. the camera was bad and the utouch was not usable compared to the unofficial version. I get that it's experimental. I hope to use it when it's stable.
Edit: There is an update with nightly status. did anyone check for bugs?
Has anybody tried the latest nightly (MK71.1-z2pro-201704051639-NIGHTLY.zip)?
I'm currently using the one from today 0406
It's stable, but:
- camera has focus vibration defect
- no vibration
- only back & home action on physical button (long touch does not trigger recent apps)
- Brightness slider looks broken
- Camera app takes ages to launch, so does the flashlight

Hi there.
For recent apps try slide from left to right on physical button...
Haha you rock man.
It works. The recent screen displays free ram & clear all button.
Right to left opens menu options.
the new nightly is usable as a daily driver. 2 bugs I found are taking a picture with flash enables crashes the camera and only a reboot makes it usable again and during a call its not possible to use the mic when the main speaker is enabled. This Rom is awesome . I'll keep it on my phone.
Sadly the hands-free issue is a very old one. Same situation in Mokee MK60.1...or all other custom roms for z2 pro!
Furthermore UTouch is not working like it should do i guess?!
U-Touck Works?
Led blinking works?
Battery is good?
Right now i am with ressurection remir but i allways try MoKee.
Thanks in advance.
By the way, if you find yourself wanting soft navigation buttons as well to supplement the semi-functioning U-Touch button, add the following line to your /system/build.prop file and reboot:
"qemu.hw.mainkeys=0"
This has the added benefit of giving you back the option for left/right cursor control buttons when typing (which I always enable personally), and long-press gestures that would otherwise conflict.
Is this built better than the Resurrection Remix Rom?
After reading the thread I thought this one has more bugs

Just a question, have you activated vibration in sound menu? Because it works on my side, just need to be switched on.
As well does the brigthness bar, but you need first to desactivate Auto brightness.
Otherwise I agree on the issues linked to the camera.

i don't understand why i need to activate vibration in sound ?
When i press volume down, before the "Alarms only" i have the vibrate mode. Can't get vibration working here. It is supposed to vibrate for everything, SMS, calls, etc.
About the brightness, i'm confused as well because with all previous roms, even having adaptive brightness, we were able to slide it to express our preferences, whether we want it overall bright or dark.
What camera app are you using ?

Well maybe you don't understand but I am just telling you how to make it works, then up to you to do it or not.
Vibration is working for me in all modes (with or without ring) and for everything (SMS, call, whatsapp => for any notification)
For camera, I kept the one provided in the ROM, actually I don't use often the cam so I don't care that much.
and the brightness slider is denfenitly working, as long as you deactivate the auto brightness
Ok, when you use it, do you have the continuous autofocus vibration problem ?
Now i have to hit the phone like 9 out of 10 times to take a picture... Annoying !
In the leaked videos, the user was able to show the homescreen with icons on the rear display. Was that any early MIUI version option only?
In the current firmware, it's not possible... Laybe later?
Anyway, I don't see myself using an app on it, it's really small for that, + it'd require UI changes from the devs...

I would like to use it to answer with speaker or decline calls. Also use it for quick responses to text.
I have noticed I can skip songs on the Spotify playlist when it's playing by accidentally touching the rear display
( I haven't found anything useful to do with it yet tbh and I hope they improve the functionality of it )
Ohh nice! As of now it's pretty early, I'm sure they'll add those little things during updates

I haven't found any way to enable that home screen in rear panel but I haven't been trying either tbh
I don't think I'm getting the red notification light on the rear display either like it shows in the Xiaomi presentation vids but maybe I just need to enable it somehow
I usually don't set my phone's with the screen facing downwards on tables anyway so it's got limited usefulness to me anyway whether it works or not

The latest update to the 'Rear Display' app breaks the red notification indicator as far as I can tell.
But to enable it/change appearance
go to settings>special features>rear display.

I'm on the EU 12.5.3 and I like it but I think I have no red light flashing on the back screen for notifications although it is enabled in the settings...
One of the issues is the rear screen can only stay on for 30 seconds max which maybe why people think the notification is not working properly ( because you would have to double tap to see it even if it is working properly)
And who likes to set their phone face down anyway? These screens are fragile and very expensive !
Honestly think they just had a screenshot of their home screen and made it the image I never actually seen anyone able to use the mini screen
Yeah they haven't ironed the kinks out pertaining to the rear display.
Out of the box, I had the red led indicator show up although it would be there even when I had no notifications.
I like it as a novelty feature but they really need to address the functionality bit.
