I've asked before that I can't flash a ROM cyn 10.2 to my htc one with CWM recovery v6.0.3.1...
And they said I have to try another ROM and flash it from flash drive...
I did it for 2 other ROMs, but it still can't...
I use the ROM from this website wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/M7ul_Info (i still can't post hyperlink)
I've used the 2 kind of stable and 1 of the RC one, but they all said :
" Finding update package . . .
Opening update package . . .
Installing update . . .
set_perm : some changes failed
E : error in /external_sd/cm-10.2.0-RC1-m7ul.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted. "
Does anyone have an idea about this problem??

if you're going to flash a 4.4 ROM, you need latest unofficial TWRP 2.6.3.3+ from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
(don't use a download manager on that site, otherwise it will fail, and make sure to verify MD5)

If you hold down volume down and power together and keep them held down, the screen will eventually turn off. Let go of the buttons and then hold them again a second or two later till it turns on and you will be in bootloader mode.
It's done.
Thank you for all the guidance!
Now i can enjoy the new ROM.

I also tried to flash a 4.4 kit at rom and radio from htconeroot.com. My One is has s-off and I am using twrp 2.6.3.3. I thought that I had used the latest twrp through GooManager. I wiped Dalvik and Cache. Where would I find Aroma? I rhought that the Rom I flashed would work on my Rogers device.

you have to have stock recovery, stock rom, and bootloader relocked.
Download the rooted rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368907 and flash in twrp. The firmware would be flashed in fastboot htcruu

No, flashing the rom won't erase the data. Usually when moving between rooms, it's a good idea to wipe data anyway. I did not wipe data moving from the previous stock rooted rom to this update.
The firm doesn't touch the data either.

In a cmd window and while in bootloader try this
type "fastboot erase cache" without the quotes and press enter
then type "fastboot reboot" without the quotes and press enter
once rebooted type "adb reboot recovery" without the quotes and press enter
Hopefully that will get you going

So, where did I go wrong? When I tried to flash the stock rom TWRP gave me an error on the zip (Sprint_HTC_One_1.31.651.2_Stock_Rooted). The reboot got me into the loop.
I need help with this as well. I'm rooted with s-off (not moonshine method) and after flashing the stock_rooted zip in TWRP, everything appears to work until after it displays the "updating android apps" window, then it just hangs on "finishing boot". Do I need to re-flash my custom rom as well prior to rebooting? I'm using tranquil rom by the way.

Maybe check if others have flashed it correctly, as I didn't test it and maybe you can't flash a stock recovery in a custom one
Confirmation
Hi,
I've just installed this recovery to my HTC ONE 32GB VODAP001.
My method was to extract the recovery.img from the zip file and flash via fastboot (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
worked fine - no issues, boots to the phone picture with a green arrow.
Hope that helps.

For anyone still trying to update to 4.2.2 on a rooted phone here are the steps I took to do it.

2.Update
3.Reflash your custom recovery (I used TWRP)

Flashed stock recovery
Thanks! Now hopefully I can get the latest HTC Google Edition OTA update. Clockworkmod rejected the latest one: JWR66Y
Noob question: What does the stock recovery actually do?
I havn't unlocked bootloader yet, and accidentially started stock recovery from the bootloader screen and started to panic when an image with a red triangle was shown for what seemed like ages. Fortunately the phone booted up normally, but I wonder what I actually did?
BTW how does OTA update work, how to get it?

All I know is I flashed the Google Edition ROM on my HTC One in July (was T-Mobile Sense version). 2 days ago I got an OTA notification for an Android 4.3 update (JWR66Y). I couldn't install it because I had Clockworkmod as a custom recovery. My hope is that with this stock recovery I can receive this OTA update fine. I haven't gotten the notification yet, so I don't know if it'll work. If it does work, then I'll be ready for Google Edition Kit Kat in October.

This method works:
Go to Settings > Apps (or Applications) and select show All. Then find Google Services Framework and click the Clear Data button. Then click the Force Stop button. Then go to Settings > About phone > System updates
The stock recovery also worked! I was able to get an OTA update and install it on HTC One which I turned into a Google Edition (originally a T-Mobile with Sense). Now with JWR66Y.H1. Just let the phone do its thing. It takes a while and there are no real status messages. It'll reboot a few times. Don't worry it works. Just be patient.
I think the same method will work when Kit Kat comes out in October.
I am not rooted, I have S-off, and I didn't change model or carrier IDs. I still received the OTA update.
TWRP touch recovery
Team Win Recovery Project 2.x, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
This is untested but if all else fails you can install CWM recovery again using the rom manager app
How to flash:
1. Download the attached file
2. Place the file on your SD card
3. Flash the file through CWM recovery
4. Reboot recovery and enjoy TWRP!
Download link:
TWRP 2.5.0.0 touch recovery

The 2 methods don't work.
There is maybe a problem with recovery.img.
When I tried to flash the .zip, the installation failled at the end. And it's the same when I flashed the recovery.img directly by fastboot.

The Device must be unlocked and equipped with a Recovery,
you need a ROM.zip and optional GAPPS,the Download Links will you find here.
At first, make a Nandroid-Backup of your existing system!
When you first time flash the ROM or you changed from another ROM-Base,
do a Full Wipe via Recovery, flash the ROM, and then the GAPPS.

Do you have any working rom installed on your phone? If not then there is nothing to root hence the root permission problem. Did you erased the cache and rebooted the bootloader after flashing a recover (before attempting to boot it)? Where are you downloading your twrp version from? Have you tried mdmower's twrp?

If there is no functional rom on your phone now then there is nothing to root so you can stop bothering with that for now. Flash your recovery using fastboot and try mdmower's twrp, I've seen many cases where mdmower's version flashed fine but not the official version.
Sometimes deleting the .twrps file from /sdcard can also help fix a non booting recovery.
You could also try CWM recovery

have you try to flash twrp using fastboot instead of flashify? See post #4
