Phone On 4.1 but showing 4.0 Icons... - Motorola Atrix HD

I have nova launcher and a kit kat theme but when I click recent apps, all the icons that show are for GB. I absolutely don't want GB icons even when they should be switched to the themed Kit Kat icons. The problem I think was I did a restore on the phone and it was already rooted and BL unlocked.

First off, 4.0 is ICS, not GB. Do you have an XTheme active? What kind of restore did you do?

My fault... I'm used to seeing the themes the way they show up with the themes but now it's not. In the app drawer it takes to the icons but it's in the recent app's view and when I'm closing apps it shows the default icons not the theme icons.

And I'm on the stock rom just nova launcher rooted and bootloader unlocked.

Icon pack will only work within the launcher.

Nova icons will not change system wide, ie they won't change in recent apps menu. If you want to use an icon pack system wide, I suggest looking up Unicon on the Play Store. Also, Unicon requires the Xposed Framework to be installed. Look it up

I had an issue with xposed framework a little bit ago where it started fc all my apps on startup and I couldn't get past it. Kind of learry about re-installing it at this point.

[REQUEST] Stock Froyo App Drawer Icon?

Yeah i am using Launcher Pro nd i want to official App Drawer icon from the Froyo 2.2 Dock. I've already got the phone and the web browser one nd all i need is the app drawer. Can someone please give me the image for that icon?
Here you go. I included the phone and browser icons too. Use the froyo dock background under appearance settings in LP and it'll look just like stock.
Is there more icons than those?

No. Those are the icons from the official drawer from froyo.
Thanks wouldn't have thought of that.

Honeycomb Style

Hi,
is it possible to get the Honeycomb-Style (Theme, Icons) without root?
Or is it neccessary to root the phone and use CM?
EDIT:
I found the "Go Launcher EX" with "Honeycomb" but I don't like the other features like switching the homescreens.
Try honeybread for the cm7 theme chooser:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943423
Ah okay.
So rooting my Nexus S is necessary.
There is also a honeycomb theme for launcher pro plus (don't need root for that)

To change the status bar, etc. you need root, you can either use a .zip and flash the theme, or use a ROM which supports the themechooser. This isn't required though as you can create your own theme easily via UOT Kitchen.
My suggestion is:
1. Root your phone.
2. Install either Oxygen or CM7, both includes the themechooser.
3. Download and apply Honeybread HDPI Theme.
4. Enjoy.
This way you won't have to mess with the kitchen or anything, and you'll have the Honeycomb style you're after.
Hope it helps
Thanks for the fast replies!
I think I will root my phone today
Great.
It works.
Thanks!
EDIT:
And this works, too.

There's a small problem now.
I tried to install a clock/date widget but if I open the drawer on homescreen there is no widget to choose?

Not sure what you are asking... you hold down on the home screen and select to choose a widget.
Well, that's the usual way to place a widget.
But my installed widgets aren't listed. There are always only the standard ones.

[Q] Transparency at Android Buttons area is gone after Sytem Update

Hey Guys! Yesterday the camera update arrived in my Moto X (Brazilian Retail version). And a great feature is now gone.
The transparent area behind the android digital buttons is now fully black. This is annoying me. Did it happen with you too?
My System Version is now 139.12.35.ghost_row.Brasil.en.BR.
Thanks everyone!
I believe this is indeed a new change in the update. They got rid of the transparency for whatever reason.
I'm still transparent on Verizon.
Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
i've noticed this too. i had a gsm dev edition on the camera ota and it had a fully black bar. i now have an at&t one also on the camera update and it has a transparent bar. weird.
edit: i'm wrong, it's black on AT&T version too on homescreen. the camera is still transparent, as was gsm dev edition after update.
Are u using non stock launcher?

Still transparent here in home screen, stock launcher!

I do. I'm using Apex Launcher to use some custom icons and have a better home screen alignment.
but I didn't had this issue when I first installed it. So if I go back to stock launcher I'll have my opacity back? If I do it and then install Apex Launcher again will the problem be solved? Well, let's check.

yeah apex here. can confirm on my wife's pre-ota version moto x the nav bar is transparent in apex launcher. on mine post-ota, black bar apex, transparent stock.
Same problem, on AT&T post-update. I couldn't remember if I had transparent in Nova before rooting and getting the Xposed modules, so after the update, I just assumed it was because I was using a third-party launcher and lost root. It is still transparent on stock launcher, but stock launcher sucks.
Black bar on NOVA. Even tried setting transparency with GravityBox and no dice. It gets semi-transparent but the color is all off and it gets weird graphical glitches when you hit a button.

Mine is black with Nova as well.
So do we know (a) why and/or (b) a fix?
I just updated (vzw) and noticed this change as well. I am in Nova, and didnt pay attention to stock, is it transparent in the stock launcher for sure?

Yeah, I tried a couple this afternoon, and only the stock launcher had the transparent nav bar. Does anyone have any clue what part of the system needs to be modified to get transparency to stick all the time?
Thought I'd add my name to the list of people who noticed this. It would be great to have this back, especially to keep the AMOLED screen healthy where the navigation bar is (so that it wears evenly with the rest of the screen).
Posted from the comfort of my Moto X.
Add me to this list. Post ota using apex, its black. However, I notice that if I reboot, it is transparent until I open an app or app drawer.
You guys getting the same thing?

Did anyone else get the Nova beta update? There's a new setting in "Look and Feel" for transparent nav bar but it's not working for me. I have it checked but my nav bar is still black. Anyone else experiencing this?

[Q] Icon packs with google now launcher?

Hello,
I'm waiting for my new Z3 compact and i was wondering if there's a way to use the Google Now Launcher (I find really usefull the google now tab and features) with icon packs. Of course i don't want to root the device because I don't want to run into dmr keys problems. So...no xposed gel settings
Is there another way-app-trick?
Thank you
Ivan
Yes, you can change the icons that appear in the dock or on your desktop with an app free from playstore called awesome icons.
I use this on my non rooted Huawei Ascend Y330 running stock 4.2.2.
I can't obviously change the app drawer icons, is this what you require?
Use As some icons. You can't change app drawer icons in GNL unless u are rooted
Getting over run by people called Ivan hahaha think he means awesome icons too :-0
OMG...ahahha. Any other Ivan? thank you guys! And is there a way to use icon packs with the stock sony launcher? maybe I will like it..but I don't like the icons a bit old school

MM 6.0 and GOOGLE LAUNCHER instead of HUAWEI LAUNCHER

Dear,
Under MM, if you want to use Google Launcher instead of the welcome Huawei, or Huawei Launcher, download Launcher Google Now and go to applications, and parameters and finally advances parameters and application use by default, and pitch Google Apps, and enjoy the result.
Yours
Did you manage to get the App icons uncluttered like in stock android with Google now launcher?
I still have these ugly borders and backgrounds... Even if I use the purev3.hwt theme. It only works on huawei launcher..

I'm running Google Now Launcher, and no, I'm stuck with the hideous icons, too. As much as I like the customization option on the P8lite, it'd would've been nice to have the option to use default app icons (as in, the icons that apps show on their play store page).
Does everyone else has black background under the on-screen buttons and notification bar doesn't blend with the whole launcher? I mean app is not immersive (fullscreen)

If you want to easily change icons install luncher that supports it. Nova is one of the best
Thanks

Edit the OP than with the recommendation changed from Google Now launcher to Nova.
Nova is great especially if you want a really good stock android experience. Settings are limitless and probably one of the best launchers out there

on android MM go to settings ->Apps ->advanced(the little gear bellow) -> default app settings-> launcher
Didn't see the solution
on my smartphone google launcher works without any problem, set as default. It need to be set manually in settings, but then it is fully working.

You can also use NOVA launcher. the icons there are the stock icons, without the ugly huawei borders ^^
