After updating to the 4.3 OTA update on my HTC One (originally Sense, but converted over), I can no longer use tethering on the device. The OTA update when through by itself and didn't require me to flash the ROM manually.
Other devices will connect to the HTC One's Wi-Fi connection perfectly fine, but can't access the internet. It was working fine before the update and I do have tethering on my Fido cell plan (I tried the sim in an iPhone 5 and the tethering works fine). All of the APN settings are the same from before the update. I've tried different APNs, but that hasn't worked either.
Anybody else seeing this issue with either their genuine Google Play edition or converted Sense HTC One running 4.3?

I'm on Rogers and it's working just fine for me. It's a converted HTC One by the way. I'm not running a true GE ROM. But it's a custom GE ROM. Sinless 3.1 To be exact.
I did have the exact problem you speak of before though. I simply wiped out all tethering settings and re did them. I've also switched to Bluetooth tethering instead. Seems to work a little better for me than the WiFi hotspot.

I've got an issue with tethering, nothing I do seems to work. It works on 4.2.2 though
I just posted this in the general GE talk, but I can't use my WiFi after using the native tethering.. its like the native program isn't restarting the WiFi drivers properly

Unfortunately, both Bluetooth and USB tethering don't work either.
Scratch that! Crazy. Last night I was tethering and right while I was Bluetooth tethering it just stopped. After an hour. And now I can't ever get it to work again. I guess I'm joining in the crowd that can't.

I'm unfortunately in the same boat. If I slap the SIM card in my other phones it can tether effectively, I'm guessing something changed in 4.3?

I just thought its crazy it was working for an hour and then all the sudden it stopped. I even pulled a logcat of when it doesn't work it and the dev can't see anything wrong. I'll even attach the logcat here to see if anyone can find anything. You'll have to look for the tethering labelled sections unfortunately i didn't trim it down.

I don't think you're crazy. I believe it's specifically to do with tethering while on LTE. I have it working on 3G/H+ without a problem

I couldn't get it working for either. I typically only use H+ and shut off my LTE. There is a fix though for this.
IMO this thread should almost be a sticky as this affects many many people! Here you go:

I was running CM 10.2 for awhile then switched to an early CM 11 version and had lots of issues (couldn't get GPS lock, data stopped working, in call volume was broken, SODs, MMS issues). I ended up switching to Malladus 1.2 (currently running 1.2.2) and have had hardly any issues. That being said, I'd really like (a piece of that) Kit Kat (bar).
Does anyone have recommended Kit Kat ROMs for the LG G2 (Verizon)? GPS stability, working in call volume, working MMS, and very very few SODs are what I'm shooting for... maybe too tall of a wish list? Would love to stay close to "vanilla Android" / AOSP.
Any suggestions would be great! Also... is there a good place to go for this sort of information? I get lost flipping through the threads of the other ROMs.
i dont think cm is the best rom, even though it is so fast ,simple ,but too few features.

Gr33nD3vil's CM 11 Unofficial mod is the best so far for Verizon.
Been playing around with getting tethering to work on stock sprint Rom with s off and root, to people that have it working could you post what app and settings your useing that worked.
Also I am opened minded to switching to another Rom that would help solve my tethering woes.
Bump.
So I've tired a few roms, viper and cm11, both 4.4.2.
And couldnt get tethering to work, so after reading some posts I'm thinkjng the problem is 4.4, id have no problem staying on 4.3 if I could tether, can anyone confirm this thanks.
Bump, con I get a link to the stock sprint HTC one 4.3 Rom atleast

Thinking of flash that to test tethering in 4.3 just kinda worried I'll mess something up, I have back ipso I'm not to worried.
Has anyone had success in using the Force MMS Connect option in Wanam on KitKat? It worked for me in 4.3, but it doesn't work at all for me on Mega's KitKat ROM.
I'm on a limited data plan, so I'd like to be able to have MMS work without enabling a data connection. Or if there is another method to get that to work, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
It used to work on my Aria ages ago, and it worked in CM11 on my Skyrocket, so it has been done before.

I haven't had a single issue with the rom until tonight. I just got a message from tmo saying i've used 2.5/3GB for mobile hotspot. I've used 30-50+ GB per month with this rom previously. I was under the impression that the fix provided by devynbf was built in and i assumed it was working since i never had an issue with wifi tethering previously.
Did something recently change on tmo's side that allows them to see through the apn and rom settings?
Do i need to just follow the newer threads like : http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...w-to-bypass-t-mobiles-vpn-connection-t2992720
or does the old one by devynbf still work for everyone else? http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/general/unlimited-wifi-tethering-t2914057
Anyone recently experienced this? Maybe it's just time to upgrade the rom.
