hi.. this is my first time with rooting and installing custom ROM..i have successfully rooted my note and now i want to flash it with Asylum Omni 4.4.1.. i have downloaded all the necessary files except the kernel. I am confused as to which raw kernel to download..is it r1 or r3?
i am currently running stock JB 4.1.2 and my kernel is 3.0.31-906407. my build is DDLSC indian version. plz help!!!
PS: does doing a backup with cwm backsup the kernel too??
Yes doing a nandroid backup don't see backup the kernel as well.
You can flash any rawr4 sc3b or r3p2. Both has a se Linux compatible recovery.

As long as you are running a safe kernel you won't have issues. Make sure that you are in a safe kernel and do a clean install (full wipe)
That is the usual method, but also make sure that you read the rom download instructions just to make sure that you follow the correct instructions. Take into consieration that some AOSP roms fail when flashed from TW based CWM, so you need to flash an CM based kernel first..:good:

How can I know if I run a safe kernel?
which kernel do I exactly need for RocketROM ICS?
RR v12 runs on Notecore which is a safe kernel unless you have applied a different one

Well, that's a strange question.
Why couldn't You?
You just install a new ROM, You don't care about the old one.
PS. You gave a number as a kernel? The kernel is philz....(here's the version)
Hey guys,
I don't know the answer for sure and although I have a twrp backup I still want to avoid having un-necessary problems.. If I'm using right now ARHD 51, android 4.4.2, BulletProof 4.4.2 kernel and Twrp 2.6.3 and I wanna go for MIUI V5 which is android 4.2.2. Miui requires TWRP 2.6.0 or something like that to work, what are the stages that I have to do now?
I come from the Galaxy S I9000 and there I had to flash first stock or stock based 4.2.2 rom before flashing miui because of the different android versions and I want to know if its the same here? Can I just flash the twrp, 4.2.2 kernel and wipe and flash the miui rom? Or do I have to install some stock 4.2.2 rom first?
Thanks!

You're on a safe kernel.
I would like to change the ROM in my Xperia T from CM11 (based on 4.4 KK) to Omega ROM (based on 4.3 JB). How could I install this ROM ? Are the any tutorial to downgrade from 4.4 to 4.3 for Xperia T ?. Also the CWM I have is V6 and I have checked that this ROM requires the CWM V7 or V8 to do installation. Where could I get it ? Thanks in advance.
Hi, first you should flash latest 4.3 firmware via flashtool, it can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648320
Then just root and install recovery from there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798411
And you are ready to flash Omega rom with that recovery.
Thanks
Thanks you. It works
