Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie so please, be patient
I followed all procedure to put a custom ROM on my Sensation XL: I choose King Cobra 9. Everything gone ok, but, when it started, some sd card problem appeared: at first, phone asked me to format sd card, and I did it, but after that, the space was not of the 8GB, but just 253KB.
So, I look on the forum, and I see that is a frequent problem, but I don't understood the process to fix this problem.
Could someone please help me with this?
UPDATE: if someone else has the same problem, look at this helpful guide, for me has worked, and as I see, it worked for a lot of other people with the same problem:

Ok so i bought a transcend 8gb class 6 sd card from newegg.com and i formatted it and did all the correct steps (at least i hope) haha but all of a sudden my phone decided to freeze itself and just wipe itself OF EVERYTHING i turned my phone back on nothing was there all my stuff was gone thank god i still have my other 2gb card but the whole reason i bought my other memory card is because i wanted to use that one not my 2gb anymore. Anyone have this problem or anyone have suggestions? Im seriously considering on returning the thing because i read somewhere a MOD had the same problem and won't use this card again... I dont want that to happen with me. So anyone have suggestions, comments, help would be greatly appreciated please and thank you. PM me or direct reply to this thanks again all
well you could try flashing amon_ra's ra-recovery-dream-v1.2.3 recovery image (you can find it on one of the first few pages in the dream development section of the forum). Try reformatting/partitioning from this recovery. It's super easy. 1 click, no computer needed! Super handy when you gotta partition on the go! Also, I've been running a Trancend 8g class 6 for several months without any problems. Weird.
Thank you for the quick reply going to deffinately try out amons recovery with that and see if that fixes the problem.
Hi! Just to share what happened to me recently.
My Legend is now sent to service. Don't know exactly what went wrong, but anyways.. I rooted it a couple of weeks ago. Been installing and trying out some ROMs ju find "the one" for me (I'm not new to this, been using rooted Magic and Hero earlier). Finally, I installed a ROM with busybox..so far so good. Then I rebooted my phone - FAIL! It didn't wake up again!
Finally I managed to reinstall a ROM by running "step1" from unlockr's "how to root a legend"-Guide.. But the phone complained about me removing the SD-card. Figured, maybe it was because of unlockr's (Pauls??) testimage, so i ran the official RUU 1.31 and it installed fine (it didn't before). But no, sd-card was still "removed". tried a secont sd-card, same problem. Bought a new 16GB Class 10 card (previous cards were 2GB/8GB class 4) - No go. So - the conclusion is - my sd-card reader is gone. Not to worry, warranty will take care of it - but has this happened to others? If it has, maybe busybox isn't such a great idea on the legend for now.

Oh, thanks.. then maybe I should try it before I send it in I actually read the posts before, but I didn't get how to hexedit the file :s I need the how-to for dummies maybe you can help me with that part?
Edit: I can try this later, need to re-root my phone first.. I have my goldcard at home, I'll do it later tonight (I get off work in 6 hours). I'd appreciate if you could help me with the hexedit thou. Now I get "INFOCID is HTC__Y13"
Edit2: since I no longer have root, is it even possible to root the pgone with the sd-controller disabled? :s
Edit3: This is gonna be a loooong post. sorted out the hexedit anyway, I'll se what I can manage :9 Thanks
Problem solved! Thank you for your help! Got back root, now it's just the flashing part left The problem was, I couldn't see my Sd card - at all. but that was easily fixed with the help of this forum! You're great!
I´m glad to help
I followed the instructions in forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938200 and everything worked great. I took out the SD card and I rebooted a few times and it was working perfect.
The problem came when I reinserted the SD card and it wouldn't read from it. So I tried to format it in the NC and realized that wasn't working either. So I shut down my NC, formatted the SD card on my PC and when I attempted to turn it back on.... it is as if there is no battery installed.
I can't get any sign of life from my NC and am getting frustrated. I can't even get it to be recognized in adb because it is completely dead to the world.
Help!
don't worry. Just put another bootable image onto you SD card, and boot from you
SD card. It should work. NC is very hardy because the priority boot is from SD card.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I don't know why but I finally realized that I can only get it to boot from the SD by pressing the N button + power at the same time. Now I am following the instructions to return it to stock
Wish me luck
Or flash my boot repartition file found on my froyo on emmc thread. If you had read the thread, you would know that formatting the SD with your NC with froyo/emmc distroys your boot partition. Only way to boot again is to flash the boot file......
Please, read threads. Don't use stuff boldly without having a clue and then ask for help when questions have been answered several times... this is getting annoying...
Sorry, it is.
Sam
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Sam, please don't give us the "this is getting annoying" thing. Your directions may be "perfect" but I rarely see directions here or anywhere else that exactly match what I am looking at on my screen. If you've never had a problem trying these types of things you aren't trying hard enough :^). Circumstances vary for each of us.
My NC is dead and pressing the power + N don't work for me. Any other ideas?
Don't worry, been there, done that. I just take time to read threads before asking questions.. So far, I've only seen one "bricked" nook. And technically, it wasn't bricked, as you could still boot off a bootable SD..
Read the threads around in general and dev about bricked/not booting NC's. I'de be very suprized if you didn't find a way out..
Still. It is anoying. Every thread on Froyo/eMMC mentions specifically the problem with Android format and boot corruptions.... So if people did read, no threads like this one would even exist... Plus, there are tons of threads on "bricked" nooks..
PLEASE, take time to read. It's a win/win choice I can promise you..
And please don't tell me what I should or shouldn't "give you". Look around, though I sometimes get tired, I'm always around helping others, and always have been for a few months now..
Thank you.
Sam
No good deed goes unpunished
I have found that when I help people they always ask for more. Have a great day.
One of my friends used to give people an immediate answer to their problems and they never were happy. So he said, "This is a real tough problem, let me research it", and then gave them the answer two weeks later. They were much happier thinking that they really had a tough problem.
just got nookie froyo installed, but am having a problem. I can't install anything from the market...and am also getting google talk authentication failed?
When I try to install youtube for example. "Download error, download was unsuccessful, please try again" and same thing with flash. using the latest nookie froyo and i followed directions in the OP. Thoughts?

Go to settings/applications/manage application (choose all). Scroll to google services framework, press on it and select clear data/force stop. Then go to market and clear cache. Reboot, all should be well.
thank you, that is why i love the xda community =)
Hi everyone,
I bought this phone recently and first thing I did was put in an microSD but when I powered it on it would display the logo(the x), the screen would go black and the phone would display the logo again. It would loop in this manner indefinitely but everything would be fine when I removed the sd card.
When the phone was running I found out that the phone was running a custom ROM, so I don't know if this could be part of the reason why I have this problem. First thing I thought to do was restore the phone to its official ROM and factory settings but as this is the first time doing these things(flashing etc) I ran into problems.
So basically my question is: is my problem unique(hope not) and how can I fix this?
Hope someone can provide some help, thank-you
kind regards

Have you formatted the SD card yet? Try to format the card to Fat32 and see if it recognizes the card.
yes I have tried that but still no luck

Hey guys,
I've been online searching for a solution a couple of hours already but i can't find anytbung about my problem...
Here's my problem:
I just bought the samsung galaxy ace and everything works except for one thing. I can't download anything from the internet (I've tried several browsers). The second i try to download something, it says that I need an sd card to download the file. I don't even have an sd card...
With my earlier phones i've never had this problem so i don't know how to fix it... It's just weird to me that i need a sd card to download a file especially because i don't even have one.
I hope someone knows/finds a solution.
Thanks in advance,
Edit:
I've already hard resetted and set the phone to fabric settings a couple of times.
