Sim Unlocking T-mobile USA C6606 Sony Xperia Z - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So many may be wondering the same as me. What is the best place online to get a sim unlock code for the T-mobile USA Sony Xperia Z Model ID (C6606)? Meaning what is the best third party site that any of you have attempted to get a sim unlock code from and have been successful. T-mobile will not give me the code. Sony will not give me the code. How much did you pay? What is the URL? How long did it take to get the code?
Shokouhi

you can try cellunlocker.net they took about a week tho, i got mine unlocked from there

There has to be a free way. Can If flash some international radios and call it a day?

There's no free way to sim unlock. The sim lock status is stored in a protected area (the TA partition) and cannot be unofficially altered.

Call T-Mobile US if you are a customer. They will do it for free.

unlocking
I don't mind paying for the service, but I don't want to get ripped off either.
I think that is what poster is asking, whats a reputable site for acquiring SIM unlock codes?

[Q] Xperia Z SIM unlock options

About to buy a Sony Xperia Z on O2 in the UK. From what I've been reading, it'll be SIM-locked. Just wondering what my options are for unlocking the phone? Has nyaone used HTC Codes before?

Depends how you get it on o2.
If you get it via CarphoneWarehouse, then chances are the phone will be sim unlocked and also bootloader unlockable......However..
Like me if you get this directly from o2 then the device will be locked on both counts...BUT anyone who is on a monthly O2 contract can request to have their phone sim unlocked at anytime during their contract period. Basically just ring them and tell them and within a few days they'll email you your sim unlock code.
It worked for me, and have even tested with a vodafone sim.
OP, I will ask you to read the Forum Rules,

[Q] Any chance there will be a free sim unlock?

I have got a XZ locked to three. That is not a big deal at the moment since i am on three. I am intending to travel overseas in about 4 weeks and will need it unlocked by then. Is anyone working on a free unlock? Is there any chance there will be one or should i just pay for it?
TIA
Unlocking
After recently buying an Xperia T on O2 only to be told I could not get it unlocked....I am now going to avoid carrier specific phones at all cost.....unlocked devices only from now on. Hope you are more successful, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I now have an unlocked xperia Z.....very happy...
Have you confirmed that your sim is locked ?
dial *#*#7378423#*#* > service info > sim lock > (Have you got a cross in any boxes)
I am waiting for a free method to unlock sim. Is there any improvement ?

I've been waiting since I had an X10, so I very much doubt you'll get it.

T-Mobile US frustration getting SIM unlock

I have a new C6606 from T-Mobile US. I purchased it directly from T-Mobile, they shipped it to me. When I ordered it, I specifically told them I required it be SIM unlocked because I travel frequently to China for long periods of time and I use a China Unicom SIM while there. My previous T-Mobile phones all worked great there, T-Mobile never gave me any problem giving me the unlock code. So, I requested the SIM unlock code for this new Z. I just received an email from T-Mobile telling me that they cannot give me an unlock code because the IMEI number for this phone is "unknown". They claim this phone must have been purchased from another carrier or source, so they don't have it in their database and thus they are unable to give me an unlock code. Seriously???
I'm about to give up on this phone, and maybe even T-Mobile, even though I've been a customer of theirs for over 9 years, now.
Yeah just pay to unlock is it that much expensive?

I paid $25 for unlock code from http://www.cellunlocker.net/ even though t-mo told me to wait for a few weeks before they can give me unlock code.

Maybe try replying to their email with an order confirmation showing you bought it from them and see what happens?

I actually paid $25 for their unlock code.
They might change their fees, I am not so sure.
You may mention that you have a friend refer you to them. My order ID is 480592.

[Q] Unlocking SONY XPERIA Z from Three UK operator.

I've ordered Sony xperia z c6603 from UK. Seller told me that it was unlocked, but it wasn't. It asks me for a pin code when I insert a local sim card. How can i unlock it? And can i flash another rom for this phone and will it be unlocked then? Help please!!! I don't wanna spend me money for unlocking it.
The only way is to get an unlock code, either from the original carrier (unlikely as you aren't the original owner) or from an online seller.
Flashing another rom will not network unlock your phone.
I suggest you return it if you don't want to pay to have it unlocked, as it was falsely advertised.

Question about the bootloader

Hello, i'm considering in buy a brand new Z3C online (from my carrier discount program), how ever i can't use any device without CM13. I wonder if any Z3C can have the bootloader unlocked.. and if not, if someone have a way to unlock the bootloader without the Sony method.
I can't check if the device i want to buy can be or can't with the dialer code as it would be bough online.
Impossible to say, if it's a sim free network unlocked device they supply then there's a good chance it'll be unlockable. The only network I know of that supply sim free network unlocked device's for both payg and contract are three UK. Without checking the device before buying it's a lottery basically.

Thanks. In the past, my carrier was well know to be the only one in the country with unlock devices that they sell and contract free. I'll call then and ask if it still is like that (i think so).
Also, a guy said that it is possible to install custom ROM with a locked bootloader... far as i know it isn't true. I'm right, or this guy is?
