Has anybody tried out I9070UBLPI (PDA) I9070CHELP7(CSC) firmware yet? Share your experiences here regarding stability etc. I will be trying out the firmware tonight. Will post my experience here in a day or two!
For the curious people - Using UBLPI + OMNI 4.3 Build 20131203 - Was earlier using DDULP8 (India) + CM10.2. No major difference atleast that I can find. And while on stock, SIM Card issues persisted. It would work and stop working and so on. After flashing OMNI 4.3, no such problem anymore.

Hi, sadly I'm a noob and I currently have a samsung galaxy n7000 UK based. I've attached a print screen on the information about my phone.
Previously, I was on the ICS firmware and since the uk version of the JB wasn't released, I updated my phone via Odin to the chinese version of the 4.1.2 JB. Then recently my phone said there was an update for my phone which was in fact the uk version of the JB.
Ever since, my phone is running quite slow and I have formatted it to see if it made a difference. The difference is slight.
Now I've decided I want to install a custom rom as I heard some of them would make my phone perform smoother, faster and also more battery-friendly.
Can someone give me a recommendation on which custom rom I should choose and give me a link that gives me instructions on how to root my specific firmware as I can't find any that mention XXLT3.
Please help?

We don't do best rom threads on xda, it's just a case of try them all til you're happy.
As for rooting, you may have to downgrade your rom to one that has a phillz kernel for it.

hi , iam using slimroms since a rough year on my former sgs1 and now on my note 1 . i realized now that even i love the rom and all the abilities of newer android versions , i have to go stock because of the unreliable usb drivers that regularly break connection and have poor performance when running as storage device from within android . for that reason i was looking in the forums about the stock roms and came across those stock and tw based roms . my question is now are these stock roms wich got tweaked and rooted but inherit all the properiat drivers that samsung got in his version and will these roms provide all levels of hardware support that i need for reliable working. despite beeing stuck on 4.1.2 then . and are these stock kernels like phillz one also working with the hardware as expected . finally the question about the different carrier versions wich seem to be the thing for newer stock roms like xxlt9 etc ... what does this mean in regard to the rom as i only know this numbering from the radios . thank you , chris

Hi,
I've used my Note 1 for quite a while now and have tested various custom ROMS on it. I now want to take it back to stock ROM and from what I can gather it should be pretty simple to accomplish. However I have a couple of concerns:
There are so many stock ROMS out there... How do I determine which one I should use? Does it matter or will all work?
I read in a comment somewhere that I should not "downgrade" to a ROMS with an earlier Android version. Is this true?
I am currently running Mokee version MK44.4-n7000-141219-RELEASE with Android version 4.4.4
Baseband version N7000XXLT3
Hope you can help!
Thanks!

You can flash whichever 4.1.2 ROM you prefer. Go to samsungupdates.com and flash via PC of mobile Odin. Read up on how to do it properly. Guides already exist.

Hi all,
So I'm using a GT-I9305
Android: 4.3
Baseband: I9305ZHUCNB1
Build: JSS15J.I9305ZHUCNB1
Since it was shipped from Hong Kong it was updated only to 4.3. I wanted to know if I can install an update to 4.4 using Odin, but from a different country, since 4.4 wasn't released to Hong Kong.
If I can, how do I know which one I should use?
Much appreciated.

Yes you can but you could also update to Android 6 using the resurrection remix rom or pan's i9305 CM13 port...
I have been using cm13 as a daily driver for over 6 months... It's now very stable & enjoyable...

Much appreciated,
It's been a few years since I used Odin. Just to make sure, how do I know how to choose the right firmware?
For now, I'll stay away from a custom rom. Maybe after I'll upgrade to 4.4.

You can use any firmware. I would choose one that is close to your region, but I'm not sure if that would give you any advantages. The downside with stock firmware is that you will have a CSC(region sales code) and modem/baseband that has been optimised for that region. This may or may not cause issues such as wakelocks or weak network signal.
If you don't want to try the latest android 6.x custom roms(which are based on AOSP code, I would recommend as an alternative a custom rom based on Touchwiz 4.4 such as Amcha Rom. The main advantages of using a rom like this is that you have the option to choose the CSC from your region and with root access, you can try different modems if you are not happy with the one you have(weak signal etc), as well as the other advantages of root permissions such as removal of bloatware and many other. And being based on touchwiz, you still get the functionality of samsung apps and features. There are also other touchwiz based roms in the i9305 development forum if you want to try different flavours......
I'm on pj2 running twizted rom currently. Can you run the latest cm 14 based roms somehow? Just saw these on the international forums and really want to try these out but curious if anyone else has or has any advice for running something besides the touchwiz roms?

In the Verizon Note 4 thread, a developer made a multi-variant CM 14.1 ROM. I went through the thread thoroughly and found that someone who has the T-Mobile variant and is on PJ2 has this ROM running without issue. It is getting updated frequently. I tried it once but went back to stock as I need my phone for work... Since I'm taking a little over a week off, I'm going to be trying this again since I have more time to get things setup the way I want them to be.
