[Q] HTC Sense 5.5 Facebook Contact Picture Sync - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I noticed that the Facebook Contact Pictures are not syncing any more (On 4.3 or 4.4 based ROMs). Do any of you have the same problem or is it only me?

I sort of have this problem. Since updating to 4.4 (now 4.4.2), my facebook contact pictures don't show up anywhere besides the stock contacts and messaging app. If I use a third party app such as Textra, 8SMS, or even Hangouts, the facebook pictures do not show up. Have been searching for a solution but have found nothing...

Contact photos not showing in stock messaging app

I've seen several other posts on this, but none of the fixes that were listed worked for me...
My girlfriend just got a Samsung Galaxy S and I flashed DarkyRom 10.2 RE to it. She has added her Facebook accounts to the sync menu and has gone through her contact list and joined all her Google contacts to the corresponding Facebook contacts. The Facebook profile pictures are showing for each contact, however they are not showing in the stock messaging app or the dialer.
I saw one thread that mentioned removing the Facebook sync and re-adding it, and we just tried this but it didn't work.
I googled this issue too and I've found more than one thread that describes this exact problem, but no solution has been posted.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
are you sure that darkyrom is using a stock messaging app?
As far as I know it is, it looks exactly the same as the messaging app that was on the phone before I flashed DarkyROM...
She had this issue before I flashed DarkyROM as well...

ICS 2.1 ROM - Facebook contacts not syncing

I'm running the ICS ROM by st.matt in the developer forum, and the major issue I'm having that nobody else seems to have mentioned is a lack of facebook contact syncing. I have the facebook app installed, but none of my contacts are getting their pics updated, and I can't seem to add the facebook account to my accounts list.
Is this something anyone else is seeing? Is this already known, but I just missed it?
it is a known problem
Well it isn't a game breaker that Facebook contacts aren't working.
But yes, I have the same problem, but I doubt that it is one that'll persist for long

hmmm..i thought you will need facebook for sense for sycn to happen, since ics alpha was aosp, so i think it won't be able to happen..
Yeah facebook only syncs with sense...
If you're a stickler for contact tidiness, and are struggling with no Facebook contact sync, you could always export your Facebook contacts to your PC and import them to your gmail account and sync them that way.
Although they won't updated should their details change, it's an alternative.

[Q] Remove Google+ Birthdays from Calendar?

So my Calendar is showing Google+ birthdays...I have no way to turn it off without turning off birthdays all together. I want to see contact birthdays but not Google+!
Anyone have this issue and/or figure out how to turn it off yet?
P.S. Google+ birthdays don't even show on the web calendar! I think it's an exclusive annoyance to the app!
Thanks!
I am in the same boat. It is all or nothing. The only (sort of) work around I found was to use some widgets that let you display only contact events and turn off the birthday calendar. Android Pro Widgets and Month: Calendar Widget are the two I use.
This change came about in Calendar itself, not Lollipop. I'm runnign the latest Cal on my GNex on KK and have the same issue since upgrading.
So it has nothig to do with the N6, or Lollipop - It's the App. Sorry.

No link with facebook in conctacts on HTC One M7 4.4.3

Hi all,
I have a HTC One M7 4.4.3 (rooted and s-off). Somehow when I go to contacts and click the link option, I do not see any facebook option. Previously it used to work fine. Not sure when did this happen. I have a rooted phone but currently on stock ROM.
I tried removing and adding facebook account under settings -? Accounts & Sync but nothing. Then I logged out of facebook app and logged back in, I noticed that on login I get the access prompt (snapshot attached) but when I click it a blank white window opens with a rotating circle on it (i.e. wait sign) and then it just disappears. I again went to contacts and do not see and facebook option to link contact with. Can any one help ?
It's a facebook thing. Not ROM or even phone related. I have an M7 on Venom 5.0.1 and it doens`t sync facebook contacts anymore for a few months already. My wife has an Z5 Compact with stock software which doesn`t sync facebook contacts also.

Yes but in my case there is not even an option to link a contact with facebook. That is something new for me. I am thinking of resetting and then see what happens.
In contacts or accounts appears as Messenger

Duplicated contact

I've noticed strange issue with contacts.
All of them are duplicated if I'll access them from "Phone" app.
What's strange, is while accessing them from "Contacts" app all looks good.
Also contacts on Gmail account are fine.
Can anyone check this please?

I was facing same problem but after updating phone app problem gone and my auto sync is off also
Same problem here, both with Android 8 and 8.1, until the last version of the Phone app. All the contacts with WhatsApp, Telegram, etc information are duplicated. I don't know if it's a problem of the app and so the resolution must be from Google or of Android.
I think it's a Google problem, because in Google Messages and Google Contacts and in other apps that access contacts all is fine.
I think the problem is with the stock Android
It's a bug in the Nokia dialer. Google contacts app is fine.

The dialer is from Google We have the Google Phone app, like Nexus and Pixel. Just to specify.
However, I also believe that the problem is with the dialer.
My dialer updated a couple of weeks ago and the issue was resolved.
I have up to date dialer and contact app but problem still exists.

You are right, it's the official Google dialer. Oneplus had the same issues, so did the essential phone and the Mi A1. For as far as I can see they fixed it with a software update.
Hi people, i still have this issue unfortunately, duplicated contact... I have now the last update, i did the reset phone twice, but still the same issue... Anyone can help ?
