Is it me or the roms Im using but google play is very inconsistent. For instance if I try to skip ahead a few songs it wont play it will just sit there. Im ready to uninstall it and just load music on my phone the old fashion way
I'm running Elegancia ROM and it must in some way conflict with Google Play, even using wifi downloading apps take longer than usual, and just using data I often get a 409 error message when trying to update apps.
Gonna go back to Android Revolution for now ultimately Viper ROM when it keys to 4.4

I don't get FCs. But, I constantly have songs stop while streaming with the message "Failed to play requested stream." Its almost to the point of making the app unusable it happens so often.
My 3g signal at work isn't the greatest, but i can see the download progress of the song is always past the point where the "error" happens. Also, i seem to be able to cache songs and play them off of my sd card without too much of a problem.
I've read that some ad blockers could cause problems with Google Music Beta and i've got AdFree installed and working. I'll try uninstalling that just to see what happens, but i'm just wondering if anyone else has had any issues like this. Very frustrating.
I uploaded the newest version and I have adblock. No problems. What prl are you on? Log in to Google music from your PC. Click the gear icon. Go in to the settings and make sure only the devices you use are authorized. If you flash new roms alot everyone of them authorize a new device. Delete the ones you don't use. Update your prl. If all else fail TB everything and wipe.

Good call on the Authorized Devices...i've flashed at least 4 or 5 different ROMs since i first signed for Music Beta.
However, i uninstalled AdFree and since my first post and it's worked a little better than before. I still have had songs just die for no reason (the download status bar was complete)...but, now the error message says "Error playing requested track."
Update your prl

Has anyone tried to update Google Music? I'd like to give their new All Access a try however whenever I try to launch the application, it will crash. I reinstalled with no luck.
Worked fine for me, but I haven't bothered rooting or installing custom kernels/roms yet. Are you rooted/custom?
rooted but not running a custom rom
I'm rooted and it's working fine for me.. Hope this takes off because I'm liking it way more than Pandora because it mixes in my personal collection

I can play one song.. But if I seek or manually choose another song it crashes.
Also the album artwork should slowly be animated and slide side to side. It just flashes back n forth left to right and gives you a seizure.
Hope they update soon, works fine on nexus 7.
Running stock deodexed w mods.

Clear the application cache/data then open the app again . You would have to log back in with your google account and voila.

Doesn't work. Done did that already.
I happen to have 3 Galaxy Note devices, original, 8 and 10.1 and I use Samsung Link to stream shows to a tv using AllShare. When I stream something on the original Note the stream is often interrupted (perhaps twice during a 45 minute show) due to lost stream. I have finally figured that the problem is on the original Note. The Samsung Link software is "pushed" out of memory, due to incoming notifications or Dropsync doing something.
I went into the Task Manager> Available memory> Running applications, there I discovered that the Note seems to only hold two apps in memory at the time even if there are some 400 MB memory available and one of them seems to always be Google Music Player, even if I haven't launched it, not even once since booting the device.
Sooo, is there a method to a) make the Note accept more apps in memory, or B) temporarily disable GMP?
Google music player can be disabled from settings - applications. Find it and press disable.

I could probably use Tasker to simplify the process, thanks.

Freeze as many apps as possible with titanium backup (Root required). Also, install Geenify for user apps taht you din't want to run unless they are active
Discovered that i couldn't disable Google Music Player, that would require me to first uninstall all the updates. Stupid setup.

It's stock. Running 4.1.2 (I think)
With all the RAM it just surprised me that it doesn't hold more than two apps in memory simultaneously and it seems rude of Google to monopolize one of those spots.

If you are rooted. Delete play music from system. And the .dex file also. If you want that app, install it from play store like a normal app. Install Greenify also. Use Greenify to hibernate play music. In that sense, you can still use play music when you want.
Unfortunately I'm Linux/Android illiterate so I run stock on everything. I see that I perhaps need to become more literate.

Thats the way to do if you want to carry on using play music and want to stop it from running when you dont use it.

I'm trying to install a few apps and update a few and i'm getting "package file is invalid' on almost every app.
I've tried removing the account and re-adding it
i've tried renaming my device in the play store
i've cleared the cache on the google play store
i've rebooted the phone a number of times
i've tried sending the app from a browser
all fail. any ideas?
Have you changed your dpi from the default 480? What rom are you running?

Assuming you are using wifi, try resetting your router. If that doesn't work, try updating one on data & see if that works. I had 4 apps this morning that wouldn't update until I switched to data.
Cowboy Up or Go Home!
People are assuming it is a widespread issue I had the same problem but the issue has been resolved and the playstore is fully functional now.

I've had some issues after installing Hyperdroid with 4.3 and the 4.3 gapps. Quick fix seemed to go through mobile data instead of wifi. That seemed to work. Next thing that worked for me was to add a second Google account, switch Google play to use it. Remove the second account and switch Google play back.

Hi,
I have a slight problem with my SG Ace S5830. As I got a new phone, I prepared Ace to be taken by my relative, who wants to try 'touch phones' as he calls smartphones.
But, on topic. Phone is 2 years old. Stock 2.3.6 version, Polish one, unbranded, updated using Samsung Kies. I have performed a Factory reset in order to wipe out my data. And here is where problem starts. After waking up, phone as clear, only stock things are on it. I tried to set it up, worked until I tried updating apps to newest available versions. Android Market (yes, Android Market, not Google Play Store), says to me, that I haven't installed any applications. It doesn't see the ones, that are installed allready. And also, he doesn't update himself.
Kies says, it's the newest software for this phone. I'm trying to set this phone up on a new Google account.
Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong or give me a solution?
Install the latest play store.apk (find it by Google search), sigin using you Google account. Open play store. Wait until accept & continue pop up appears on your screen ( might take some time). Select ok & you're good to go.

Worked for the store, thanks, but still - store doesn't see anything on phone, that came with stock 2.3.6. I need to manually search for things.
Maps, gmail, google search, etc., should be shown in the list of installed apps. If not, download something & it should show up. If not, then try to sync your device to Gmail. It should be fine then.

Yes, apps indeed showed, but after finding them manually and updating them manually as well.
Nice to see that your problem's solved.
