Has anyone been able to get ISIS working on a Verizon Moto X I already have Google Wallet already but want to try ISIS just to compare the two.

From what I heard it's not compatible with the Moto X, it also has very small limitations to what credit cards work with it. I think at this point only Chase and American Express work.

I just checked and download it to my X. Looks like it has been updated to work with kit kat.

Who cares. Use Google Wallet...
On a serious note, No idea. Its card limitations are crippling so I don't use it.

You can use isis with the vzw moto x, but you need a different sim cars. Still a national, but there's another sim. Just go into vzw ask for the nano that works with isis.

I've had the NFC sim card since I received my Moto X, but I was never able to download it until yesterday.
BTW, I also use Google Wallet, just want to try ISIS before I give up on it.

Both ISIS & Google Wallet work just fine for me on my Verizon Moto X

Works fine here. Just limited options as far as card brands, to my understanding.

Once I make my last payment to my Verizon bill for my final $50 cash back I will stop using ISIS unless there's other cool offers that come up, I've got $150 cash back from normal purchases, so it was a no brainer for "FREE" money. Plus using AmexSync I've got another $250 in cash back from Direct Deposit sign up, plus other offers such as Amazon & such
American Express is REALLY putting a lot into this, they want it to take off with all their cash back offers, I'm surprised more people haven't jumped on the bandwagon. Also, if your local stores accept PayPass, Tap & Pay etc ISIS WILL work there, even if they aren't on the "official" list, I know this for a fact because I've used it at tons of places where it wasn't listed & payment worked just fine

Sucks the truth isn't the same for google wallet. Didn't work for me at 7-11

Only one of the readers works at one of my local stores & of course they always use the register where the working one isn't haha

7-11 always worked for me but now it declines every time. I think 7-11 is blocking it.

I have a feeling this is just the Isis consortium's newest way of blocking Google wallet.

Isis doesn't work on my att model. But Google wallet works perfect, I have used it at sports authority and CVS and mc Donalds with out issue.

I just used ISIS today at the vending machine today at work

For me it doesn't, it says unsupported device on the top at the credit card screen

You can use something like ota rootkeeper which will allow you to use it.

It will say this if you are rooted. Yes.
But it does NOT affect functionality.
Wallet will work just fine.
That rooted message is just a Google disclaimer.
I'm rooted and running CM10 and I used it today no problem.
It says its an unsupported device because you are rooted and they won't be held accountable if some app empties your wallet. It still works great though. Google paid for my lunch yet again!

Yes..
do you have a credit card with the little 'wifi' symbol on it (not sure what it's called).. this means your actual credit card has a NFC chip in it.
i have a Chase card, which has this.
every time i lay my Galaxy Nexus on top of my wallet, the NFC Reader app (market) i have installed, picks it up right away.
Works on mine. Took a long time to finish setting up.

Good thing to know. Just picked mine up from microcenter earlier today and was wondering the same thing. Haven't had much time to play with mine

Pasting my own post from another forum:

I have rooted and unlocked my Nexus 7, and yes, when setting google wallet after all that, I did get my $10 prepaid credit, and then I updated to the latest Google wallet version that allows you to register any type of credit card (visa, amex, etc). Which I did.
I went to the store just with the intention to pay with my tabblet, and it worked!!! And yes, I also got the "unsupported warning" for being rooted, but that does not stop the app from working perfectly. The selected card for that transaction was the credit card I registered, and I didn't have an internet connection for the transaction to be completed succesfully (very cool).
I haven't done a transaction with the prepaid $10 credit yet, but it should be no problem since I think it's even less complex than what I did above.

Cheers.

quick question do you have the wallet app open when you are checking out cause the when i tried it didn't work but it worked perfectly fine at MD and a vending machine so i dont know if its the store card reader or what
Well, can anyone explain why, on my Nexus 7 and HTC EVO LTE, both our which are rooted, Wallet used to at least open, but after this update I just get an error: sorry, wallet does not yet run on this device and on your mobile network"?
Two different devices, two different manufacturers, same error.

I use the hide my root app. I didn't know it would work with it being rooted though. I still like hiding my root until I need it.

Los Angeles. It ran before this update, so it's hard to imagine my location has anything to do with it.
I did find a few posts on other sites, like Android forums and AT&T's, for the same issue. Since nobody has complete info, we're all coming to different conclusions.
On AT&T's forum, they think it won't run because Wallet only has an agreement with Sprint. Obviously, my nexus 7 dispels that theory.
People on Verizon are speculating the same thing.
I've tried uninstalling both the update, and the entire app.
I've tried temporarily turning off root.
Still no workie.

Unlocked Galaxy Camera

Hey everybody I was thinking of getting a galaxy camera from amazon unlocked for $349. Anybody think I could get this to work on an at&t Sim? I have a data plan on my pos ipad . I wonder if it would work. Discuss please

Colts,
I''ve done the research for you. None of the major carriers will activate an unlocked phone. Only one is T-Mobile. You can get a SIM card for ten bucks and pay twenty a month for 550 mb. That's what I did.

It's not a phone. That is something to keep in mind. You can use Google Voice or other call-over-data software, but there isn't native phone functionality. It's great as a camera that can still run applications, but if you are looking for a phone first with a great camera second, it probably shouldn't be the first choice.
As for activation, most carries do not WANT to activate an unlocked device, but if it has a clean ESN, they will eventually agree. Worst case, you get whatever free 4g piece of garbage they are offering, pop the sim in the one you want and put theirs on eBay. That is if you even need 4g, which in this case you would.
Not entirely true. If you have an unlocked Galaxy Camera, you can get T-Mobile data plan for $20 bucks (550 mb). Using Google voice and Talkatone, you have a functional phone. No difference whatsoever from a regular smartphone. As a matter of fact, I turned off my S3 and was getting regular calls through "the camera."
My only warning is make sure it's unlocked. Amazon sent me an AT&T locked phone instead of the unlocked that they advertised. I did return it and I'm waiting to get a new "unlocked" phone today. Also, boot in odin mode to make sure it's not a used phone. Mine had been flashed 5 times by someone else and then sold to me as new. Beware, lot's of crooks out there.

Google wallet!?!?

Maybe I'm just retarded but how the heck do you get Google wallet working on the moto x att for some reason every time I try to download it it says that my phone is not supported I don't see how that is possible seeing that this phone is comade with Google its their software. What am I doing wrong???

Yes, right. But I've had wallet running on a Verizon Galaxy Nexus since it came out, sideloaded, no root. So, maybe someone can figure out how to do this for the Moto X or the Maxx?? Hopefull
without Root it won't happen, period.
Wallet worked fine on my nexus 4 stock UN rooted on AT&T

Yes it did but you didn't buy it from at&t. It remains to be seen if wallet will be available on the dev edition moto x.

Droid ultra and Google wallet :(

I came from a Verizon galaxy nexus and of course I had root so I was able to get Google wallet installed. I used it very frequently and I seem to remember a. No root apk floating around out there, but it does not seem to work anymore. Has anyone had luck with Google wallet on their ultra?

No luck here
There's no secure element. You physically lack the hardware. Google's given up on Wallet for all intents and purposes.
Also being on a carrier that doesn't support wallet to begin with doesn't help.

Im not sure about that, isis initialized this phones secure element just fine. I think the nexus 7 lacks the secure element.
I believe the secure element is in the Sim card now. Not sure if Google Wallet could use that when/if we get root.

I don't have the NFC SE Sim as of Now, but today I ordered the NFC SE so as to hedge my bets when Isis starts to allow all credit/debit cards. I hate to go through this waiting game again. I was using Google wallet almost daily and it was one of my favorite gnex features.
That said Isis activated on my maxx without issue. And the isis site is a little confusing. It says it requires both an NFC se Sim and the phones NFC. But when using the app it says my phone was initialized just fine.

I had a Gnex with root and it was installed. Than one day it just gave me the unsupported carrier notification (not unsupported phone) and that was the end of that. They had to mail me a refund check.

There is a secure element still. When I set up ISIS wallet it specifically said it was programming the secure element.
And it works, I paid at McDonalds last night using it for the first time.

The SE is there, the libraries for controlling the built in one are not. The SE isis uses are a carrier controlled type running as an application on the sim.

[Q] Wallet on Verizon?

Now that we have root, is there any chance that we could see a working port of the NFC-enabled Google Wallet app that works on the Verizon Moto X? I'm sick of trying to use Isis for NFC payments, and I don't think that there are any hardware limitations that would prevent the app from working on the Verizon model. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
The latest wallet app works on a lot of devices, including verizon and devices without nfc. download it and try it. Are you saying that the nfc part of it doesnt work?
I downloaded Google Wallet on my non-root Moto X (Verizon) just the other day, and it seemed to log in and work fine. Haven't tried paying for anything with it though.
Tap to pay is disabled on Verizon.

The Moto X on Sprint and US Cellular both support tap to pay, so all we have to do is trick the app into thinking that our phone os one of those, and we should be able to do it, right?
