Soft Reboot Doesn't Work - Moto X Q&A

Anyone else having problems with soft reboot in Xposed and GravityBox? No matter which one I do it doesn't do a soft reboot. It looks like its about to do it, goes to the boot image and then turns off and then turns back on and fully boots.

[Q] Black screen and unresponsive buttons when trying recovery

I am trying to install cyanogen on my nexus one.
I get a black screen with unresponsive buttons when I try to root with superboot. Only after removing the battery and reinserting it I can start my nexus again.
I do have root (as I checked with su in a terminal app).
If I go in the HBOOT menu and select recovery, I don't get the recovery menu (as on a friend's nexus) but my nexus reboots and goes into the same black screen after which no button works.
Help! Since I can't get into recovery to do a nandroid backup or install the cyanogen rom.
edit:
The same happens if I try to do a factory reset (settings, privacy, Factory data reset, reset phone): I get a black screen with unresponsive buttons.
Somebody said I might have an SLCD screen.
Indeed this was the problem! After flashing recovery-RA-nexus-v1.8.0.1-aw.img my problem is solved.

stuck at boot screen after removing lag fix

Today after trying to remove the lagfix from the MCR scripts program , the program crashed.
Which i then reboot the phone hoping to restart the program again but now the phone just stays at the boot screen for hours.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
A factory reset will do
yeah i tried all methods both 3 button boot method and USB Debugging method simply couldn't get into the factory reset screen for me to choose it.
Unless there's a factory reset button that i can press?
What other way i can reset the phone?

[Q] Captivate on CM9 stuck in boot loop, power button broken

Anybody up for a challenge? My phone has only given me problems the past several months, and now it's currently stuck in a boot loop on Team Hacksung's CM9 Build 16. Apparently restarting my phone was a bad idea, as that's all I did to set off this new problem. The best part of my situation: The power button is broken, it has been for a couple months now. I remapped my volume keys to wake/unlock my phone, and the search/magnifying glass would lock it.
Here's what my phone can do at the moment: It can turn on, get to the AT&T screen, and get stuck in the ICS boot animation. It can charge with that green battery icon and the five dots below it. I was also able to get it into recovery (once), but I can't select anything because my power button is broken.
When it started giving me this issue last night, I just let it run until the battery died this morning. It didn't help. I'd love to have a somewhat usable phone again, does anybody have any idea on what I can do here?
EDIT: I accidentally got it into download mode somehow, so that must be a good thing.
get a jig.
Hi! My power button is broken as well, but I found out while I was flahsing a ROM recently that I could use the home key in CWM recovery as if it was the power key!
Maybe try that!
If it works, I suggest Factory Data Reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache, and reflash your ROM. Then reboot recovery and flash it again.
After you flash it the second time fix permissions and then reboot and see if that fixes it.

[Q] Soft reboot doesn't work anymore

Just what the title says. Didn't worked with (KK)gravitybox, xblast tools, advanced power menu soft reboot options. Even the xposed framework in that screen to update that gives the option to reboot and soft reboot.
Phone just reboots normally.
since 4.4, soft reboot doesnt work for me too.

Soft Boot

Is there a app that will soft boot instead of having to turn the phone off and on? I know there is one if you are rooted.
