Hi,
I rooted my phone a while back and ever since then I've lost the ability to watch any streamed video from the YouTube app to random mp4 on the web to streaming from plex. I can watch the video just fine after downloading it if it comes from a source that I can. Does anyone know how to solve this? I have factory reset and flashed the stock odex and deodex roms for sprint and still no results. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I just picked up a Nook and rooted it immediately so I could watch video on it. Right now I am just running Stock 1.1. I have some video files in .AVI format that I want to watch on it, but while the video is pretty smooth, the sound is totally out of sync by 1-3 seconds it seems.
I have tried RockPlayer which trashes the video and still has the sync issue. Using Software decode mode as the Hardware mode doesn't work.
Vitalplayer's video (again software) is virtually perfect, but the audio is still out of sync.
Mvideoplayer doesn't work at all, probably due to no codecs being installed on the device.
So my question is this: Is there a way to fix it? Reading through ROM threads it seems that none of them really have video playing nailed down. CM7 says to use Rockplayer as a workaround (uses FFMpeg), but if it doesn't even work on stock, what are the chances it will work in that?
Any ideas?
Thanks
I have the same problem.
I haven't tried this on 1.1, but on 1.0.1 I ran the videos through Handbrake using some of the settings suggested in the thread below and that seemed to help.

Was hoping that performance with Rockplayer would be good enough to not have to do that. I have the settings for HB and will try them tonight.
Now if CM7 could just get DSP and codecs this might be a non-issue.

I use Handbrake and use the ipod touch setting. It works great - sound is in sync with video. NC 1.1 rooted with Auto-nooter 3.0.0
Thanks for the help everyone. Using the Handbrake settings that I was pointed at was the perfect solution. Ran a Fringe episode through and watched it on the train this morning.
Everything perfectly in sync.
Thanks again.
Alternative Approach
I am using a dual boot. The standard video player on the NookColor works very well.
I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem. I am running jcsullins cm10 0418. I installed the abc news app which has live streaming video. It plays nicely for a few minutes and then the touchpad freezes and the sound will come out but no picture. The touchpad will be unresponsive and then reboot a few minutes later. This also happens with the CBS news app when the video streams in HD but not if its in regular quality (can't figure out why the app will sometimes stream in HD and sometimes not). I have Verizon FiOS so my internet speed is great! Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if it will help, but you can try the hd patch. It's a flashable zip file. It was made for SGA'S 10.1 rom, but it could help you. A search will turn it up.
Do or have a backup, just in case.
I really like Chromecast but there is one problem whit it.
I spent 19.99$ on HD Iron Man 3. So i started to stream it via my network(PlayMovies no VPN).
Movie started in FullHD and its fine no lag but subtitles are 1 to 2 seconds out of sync and its same result if i use TunnelBear. I tryed it out on my N7 LTE and Find 5 and subtitles are fine and are in sync.
So does anyone know whats happening and is there any possible solution?

If you pause then restart the playback do the subtitles get back in sync, or are they permanently off?
Also, is the subtitle appearing before or after the video it should accompany?
I tried that and it's same.

Hi my question is is there a player except localcast which allows me to stream videos on my tv via chromecast but let the audio play from my phone? i searched a lot of websites but could not find anything hope someone can help me here
I could see this being possible by running a UPnP server on the Chromecast and diverting/mirroring the audio through that. I think you'd probably need a rooted Chromecast to do it at this stage though (which I don't have).

I actually got that to happen accidentally while testing casting from Chrome Beta on the phone. I started a Vimeo video playing on the phone, switched to full screen, clicked the Chromecast icon, the video loaded on the Chromecast and started playing, the phone screen switched to control playing on the Chromecast - but the audio continued on the phone. That didn't happen when I stopped and started again, only the first time.
Came from the galaxy s5 to the s6. Every time I try to cast video I get a message about not enough resources. Screen mirroring works as long as I don't play video, then it crashes. Tried casting directly from several video players, local cast, vlc, etc. only crashes and make the whole phone hang. It's not rooted and completely stock. My v10 works perfectly. Any clue what can cause this?
