Well, I plan to buy an Exynos variant of the Note 9 (N960F).
As I'm in hollydays in Morocco, I want to buy it from here, at a very interesting price than France. I want to change the CSC after to BTU, as I always did in order to have quick OTA's.
As I want to keep Samsung and Google Pay features, I want to know if I can change CSC with the combination rom method, witout root nor tripping Knox.
Based on some posts, it seems Samsung has blocked this way.
Any confirmation please ?

hello
if your device is N960F ( in Morocco i think it will have a OXM multi CSC ) , you don't need combination file or to change the firmware without tripping knox but when you come back to France ( or if you have it in Morocco )
- install french sim card
- save all your data
- Power off the device
- Go to recovery , HOLD bixby button ) + Volume up together , and power up
- In recovery , chose factory reset .. This will give a warning and then reset everything
- Choose power off
- Power on the phone , wait and . then chose restart to system now when asked
- wait and after reboot , your CSC have change according the sim tray ( XEF )

Worked ! Thanks very much !
Any chance to get BTU CSC ? I hope that XEF will have good OTA !
as there is only one firmware for OXM multi CSC , you can update with one of all OXM CSC with ODIN , but normaly default CSC (XEU ) will have updates in first

Quick up on this topic: I bought my Note9 from Bouygues Telecom, so it has the BOG CSC, and I may be interested in switching to XEF, BTU or XEU (which one is best?), to get more regular updates and features, can I install this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/official-stock-fw-update-odin-thread-xx-t3825204, and keep Samsung Pay/KNOX etc...?
@Mwyann
if you want XEF firmware , yes you can use the link ( or another ) to download OXM firmware
if you don't reset the device you will have XEU by default
if you factory reset with BOG sim card you will have XEF CSC ( and keep Volte , VoiceOverWifi , .... )
same firmware , only sustomer change

Oh, so can I upgrade without factory reset, and it'll "switch" to XEU? It's not supposed to keep BOG CSC if I don't reset? (as the CSC will be installed in /data if I recall how it worked with my S7E).
And lastly, does XEU have VoLTE, VoWifi...?
yes with XEU you have not french customer settings but device will work ( my old devices are with DBT or arabic CSC )

Lastly, which is best, XEF or XEU? Is it worthy to backup/factory reset/restore to get XEF and French settings, or to keep the XEU settings? (What are the differences basically?)
@Mwyann .
there is no best CSC but with XEF you will have :
<DefLanguage>fr_FR</DefLanguage>
<DefLanguageNoSIM>fr_FR</DefLanguageNoSIM>
<Multimedia>
<Camera>
<ShutterSound>off</ShutterSound>
<ProfileHandle> : 27 french Acces Point Names
<IMSSetting> : 3 ( BOUYGTEL , Orange F and SFR ) for Volte VoiceOverWIFI ....

Hello guys!
So I recently bought the Note 9 from my carrier (Vodafone Portugal) and the fw comes branded by them.
Worst of all, no October update yet while it was already released for more than a week and I really don't like this.
Would you please help me with the procedure to get this to a better csc and no branding? TPH is Portuguese free afaik so it could be the one.
Also, can I do this without loosing data or I should/must wipe?
Sorry for noob questions, been out of Galaxy scene since S3...

Will this reset method also work to make my Singaporean SM-N960F/DS (Exynos) work properly on TMobile USA, and get me VoLTE and WiFi calling ? I very much doubt but I should ask because I never reset my phone once I came back to U.S. I just inserted the TMobile SIM. Thanks.

I have same concern as you
Revert to factory CSC N960F
Hi there, noob in the house,
I changed my CSC via the *#272* menu from XSP to BTU. Then through the forum, I thought I understood but was wrong, that I needed to Install a single CSC the reinstall an OXM to revert back to XSP
In short I'm stuck on FTM whenever I Odin to any OXM CSC it goes back to BTU.
How can I get back to XSP or change to XEF?
Sincerely appreciate any help
I also have the same question:
I am from South Africa and my phone originally came with XFA firmware.
Here in South Africa the XFE version gets updates much quicker.
Is there a way that I can permanently switch my phone to XFE to always receive updates from it?
