hey guys, ive a lumia 625 and ive developer unlocked it, ive been searching the web all day on how to deploy xaps, ive been to site after site and they all reccomend different apps to do this, i've literally tried them all and i keep coming to one of 2 problems.
1- i cannot target/choose my fone to deploy too
2- i get a microsoft error (this only happens wif the offical deployer from the sdk.
just wondering if anyone has come accross this issue before and if there is a way to make any of the apps reconginse my phone?
Could you be a little more vague about that error? I mean, you told us it pertained in some way to the company that made the software. That's clearly way too much info... </snark>
If you were able to dev-unlock your phone (presumably using the Developer Registration tool from the SDK), you are able to deploy apps (using the Application Deployment tool from the SDK). They connect the same way. If you get some error when doing so, tell us what the error is. Also, try obvious and simple fixes like restarting the PC and/or phone, making sure the phone is connected correctly (i.e. you can browse it via MTP, it's charging, etc.)

yeah my phone is developer unlocked, above is the error i get from the Application Deployer from the SDK instalation, and yes i can still browse my files and charge my phone, its just this error happens when i opened the program.
above is 2 images in one, the first is the error i get when opening xap deployer 2.0, the 2nd half with the black circle shows there is no target avaiable.
Have you tried rebooting both systems? The other things you might try are removing the WP8 drivers (which may also require a reboot before they work again) from Device Manager, and using a different USB port.

i have rebooted both systems, i haven't tried removing drivers or a different port, I'll try those tomorrow and hopefully one will work
Good luck. This is an error I haven't seen before. You may also want to search around more online in case anybody else knows anything. The only times I've seen comparable problems, the phone wasn't really connecting at all (not visible to the registration tool or MTP clients).
Thanks.
tbh id an issue wif one usb port not reading my fone, but the one I've been using since i got the fone installed has always worked for copying files and stuff.
hey ive tried what youve suggested but im still getting the same errors, is there another app you know of that may work? ive searched the web and the only other person who seems to have come accross this error said he updated his visual studio to update 3, i just downloaded the most up to date version of visual studio yesterday so i dont think it would be that?
All the apps work the same way, they just wrap the same functionality of the official app in a more user-friendly package (the official tool is pretty bare-bones). Some of them have better error handling (telling you useful information) than others, but if they just do not *work* then you're probably SOL... is there another computer you can try using, to see if it's a problem with the phone instead of the SDK tools? Also, are you sure you purged all the phone drivers? Un-installing the SDK and purging all the drivers, then rebooting the PC and starting from scratch, *might* work. It'll take time but I don't know what else to recommend right now except trying on another PC or trying with another phone.
I did a fresh install if windows 8 and that's sorted the problem, not sure wat was wrong, but thanks for the help guys.

I have gotten this error when installing the WP8 SDK on Windows 7 64 bit. Try applying any WP SDK updates starting with 7.1.1. I think the 7.8 update is the one that fixed it for me...
I have a wp8 and windows 8 64bit and I have tried several ways I don't get the target option in deployer!!pls help!!!
I had that same problem multiple times, always when the internet connectino went offline and the installer couldn't finish. I had to completely uninstall the SDK and install it again, you have to let it download the emulator images aswell. Good luck!

Hey guys!
I swear I must be the only idiot out there who can't work out the Flashtool interface. I have rooted, installed CWM and readied my FTF file ready to flash. My problem is actually connecting the phone and getting the interface to recognize the Z.
When booting the program I plug the device in, it loads up and installs the ADB interface drivers and provides me with a prompt giving me a list of phones to choose from. The Z just isn't in there and I don't want to proceed by choosing another device 'by default'...
I have well and truely searched the hell out of this question with as many different queries as I could imagine to no avail. I have flashing experience and consider myself quite computer savvy but this has more then got me stumped!
Any suggestions?

Now you have to select the driver yourself. So you have to pick it from the list
This the updated driver:
I hope that helps a little.

Is this what you are talking about?
To flash any stock ROM you don't need CWM. Flashtool is all I use to flash .ftf files
I download the ftf file I want and place it in the firmware folder:
I then start the flashtool app while the phone is unplugged, turned off and make sure it's in "Flashmode"
Once you click "Ok" this window should show up:
And then choose the ftf you placed in the folder. You should see this window:
And flashing will begin.
Just make sure you have full charge on your XZ before you do all this.
Wow, shadowboy23, you really went above and beyond with your assistance given here! You should really consider copying those posts over to the general thread and make a driver installation and flash tool guide (unles there is one...) But yeah, Kudos!:good::laugh::good:
Thanks!
I cannot believe that post shadowboy23 seriously thank you so much I can see the amount of time you have put in there! I myself haven't had any time to check the computer or even think about flashing my phone but will have another attempt this coming weekend and will defiantly bring you results (hopefully good news!)
Cheers again!!
Josh
I had a crack this afternoon and successfully got everything to the stage where your last step ends (on one of my 3 computers only!) and then the flashboot spits out an error message telling me the device drivers are not loaded. I will persist tomorrow afternoon when I have a fast internet connection and can download the latest version of flashboot (I have beta 4 I believe).
Incredibly frustrating process though!!
Josh
SUCCESS!!
Cheers shadowboy!! your new version fixed the issues I was having with the loader and it was all plug and play... but most of all thanks for letting me know to untick those boxes!! saved me the nightmare of having to reinstall everything
Cheers!!

Hi,
I cannot use the WP8 SMD binary USB Downloader with my Samsung ATIV S to flash a rom.
I specify the wp8 and csc file, SMD detects my phone, the start button is enabled, but when i press Start nothing seems to happens (t.e the channel don't seem to open).

What i have checked is:
1) Try flashing on computers running from Windows XP to Windows 8.1, both 32 and 64 bit versions of the OS
2) All sorts of usb cables, including the ones that i received with my phone
3) As drivers, I'm using the Samsung ones "SamsungUSBDriver", but also tried the Windows provided and from the Zune Software.
4) Tried every version of the SMD Binary that i managed to find on the net
One thing that i have noticed is that the samsung driver inf file (WP8USBDownloader.inf) is using the signature:
USB\Vid_045E&PID_062B
But when i go to the Device Manager (when my phone is in download mode) the usb signature is:
USB\VID_045E&PID_062A
But nevertheless the driver is getting installed and I'm not sure if this is preventing the flash process to begin
Anyone has experienced an issues like this?

when i look at the picture the phone is an engineering phone , and you try to flash a retail rom , that will not work.
So do you mean that it's impossible to flash? where I can find engineers roms and csc?
with smd version 3.47, phone is not detected, with the others is detected as "UnKnown Engineer" I just want to change CSC

It makes me sad every time somebody takes an engineering phone and tries to turn it into a retail one. They are so much more useful when they're all unlocked (the way engineering phones generally are).

Flashing CSC will not lock this phone.
IMHO, phones with Mass Storage are way more usefull
I downloaded what I thought was the Jellybean OTA update last night. Took about 20 minutes, but after the download finished, and the droid installing graphic finished and the phone re-started, I don't have Jellybean. Software Version says D41510e (Stock, never rooted or modded in any way.)
When I go to Update Center on my phone, and check for system updates, it says "Your system is up to date." So I don't seem to be able to download another from there.
Could it have downloaded but not installed properly? Any way I can see if it's on the phone but not installed?
I'm a mac person with no regular access to a PC, so the PC download is not ideal. I hate installing drivers/software on other people's computers! I have XP in Virtual Box but have not been able to get the download software to "see" the phone on there.
Any thoughts on how I can get lollipop to install (if it's sitting in the phone somewhere) or re-download? Any menus or files I can access from within the phone, to do that? Would a Factory Reset do it? (hate do do that. Not rooted, so no decent backup.) I'm wondering if the false "Up to date" message is because it knows the OTA was downloaded and that's all it checks, instead of checking what's actually installed (in which case I'll never be able to re-download!)
Any help would be appreciated.
Updating you with my current failures. I'm pissed!
Contacted Tmobile, and they conferenced called LG. Both useless. LG said do a factory restore. - Last thing I wanted to do.
Couldn't get the LG Mobile Support Tool to work in XP under virtual box. It couldn't see my phone when connected no matter what settings I used (VB and WinXP could see it in media mode, but the LG app couldn't.) I tried enabling and disabling USB debugging, changing the PC connection mode.... Didn't matter. LG Support Tool did not see my phone. The Restore option didn't work either.
Finally went to a friend's to use their PC and did exactly what I hate doing - installed LGs drivers and the app on their computer. THERE the app saw my phone fine. - But said I already had the most recent update! I tried the restore option, and it said to check my model and serial number (Or something like that) but didn't give me the fields to input that (which I knew should be there from when I tried that in VB). I tried installing and uninstalling drivers a few times, different compatibility modes (really hate messing with other people's computers like that.) - No change.
So then I did the last thing I wanted to do, and did a factory reset. I'm not rooted so I only have a "drag and drop" backup of things. Did the re-set... Nothing. Still have Kit Kat. Tried to get the OTA - Nothing. Says I have the most current version.
THEN!!!!!
I looked at the LG software update page again. - It says the most current update is KitKat! - Which is probably why the update tool thinks I have the most current software! Where the heck is the acknowledgement on LG's site of the LOLLIPOP update?! Tmobile's site says there's a lollipop update, but LG says it's a KitKat update! (See screencap below)

Wish I'd seen that before I did the factory reset!
So I'm nowhere. Don't want to try flashing. Especially on someone else's computer. I added enough there.
I guess I'll wait until LG decides we have lollipop and maybe I'll have better luck then. Don't know what the heck updated for a half hour last night and optimized everything, if it wasn't Lollipop! Meanwhile, I have to put everything back on my phone!

Thanks. Saw and read that whole thread a while ago (all 50+ pages ). Would rather not flash the phone, as I said above, since I'd have to use someone else's computer, but thank you for the attempt to help.
Long story short, I have access to D/L mode and this is it. No recovery, no fastboot. Flashtools errors me out due to device model not matching. (My device model shows up as Android SDK built for x86). Also, ADB does not recognize device either.
With the methods being used to Root the G4's and Flex2's, is it possible to DD (Linux fun) system images from PC to device? I've been trying to comprehend Linux commands but am having some difficulties.
Tried this ="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 . No luck. Ubuntu does not show partitions either. I'm sure my Flex is bricked, but I still have hope that some random method will pop up and I can get this baby rockin' again.
Thanks in advance!

Tell details. What's your phone model?
Do you have download mode?
What's the error you getting?

Model is D950. Originally had 4.4.x. I can enter download mode no problem. I don't have adb commands. When I type adb devices, it shows a blank space.
LG flash tools gives me a "device model different. Check device model". Mind you, tried flashing the stock TOT with the d950dll and also tried the generic dll that G2 users were using. I'll post a pic in a little bit of the error I get....

Alright, here goes...
Started when the volume buttons stopped registering pushes. I replaced the clickers (for lack of better term) but problem did not go away. I then attempted a backup restore via TWRP but Flex powered down (battery level was above 90% prior to restore). I then connected to computer (then running W8) and it showed up as qual_blahblah. I d/l factory partitions and followed a guide to fix partitions...well the guide did not work out in my favor because after reboot, device would show LG splash, go black and show LG splash again, followed by an android guy on his back with the yellow triangle above him. I will note that that is the only thing (android guy on back) I see when I try a normal boot up/power on.
I am running W10 on my PC currently.
First of all why did you try to restore your partitions if you had twrp and a saved backup. That should have solved any issue there. The volume buttons going bad wouldn't have been a software thing unless you used some mod that could have disabled them. Then that can be fixed via factory reset. Or restore backup.
OK so to fix your FLEX just plug it up in download mode and to your PC with lg's PC suite software installed on your PC. Not sure if windows 10 is supported for PC suite or not or if this works on win 10. May have to try someone else's pc. And make sure you have internet service on that PC.
At the top of the PC suite program window there are several options to choose from. Not sure off the top of my head what they're called but there is an option some where up there to restore from bad update or recover from bad update. Something like that. I wrote a tutorial about a year ago on how to do this. It should be in the general section. Try that out.
Back to the volume buttons or clickers as you call them. The ones that you replaced them with may be defective. If you bought some cheap Chinese BS then it could possibly be for be made as more of a universal off brand made to work in a lot of lg's but for some reason not compatible with the FLEX. I've bought a new sim card /sd card ribbon for an asus zenfone 2 before that was that very issue. Speaking from experience.....spend the extra dough and get the quality parts not Chinese sweat shop BS.
And good luck
Dear XDA-Community,
I spent days and hours trying to solve this problem,
at first, I got a HTC one M7 years ago from a friend and back then he told me he had broken this device by flashing it.
So this device was in my drawer for at least two years, but it still turns on and then gets stuck in the bootloader.
So then I got Fastboot installed but when I try to reach the device with every possible command the message:
Code:
ERROR: Unable to create a plug-in (e00002be)
appears. I tried reboot the Mac and the device itself.
The Mac is connected with the device according to system report.

I knew its German but I just wanted to show that there is a connection (I hope thats ok).
I even tried installing HTC Sync for the drivers even everybody says they are unnecessary on MacOS
The last Firmware that was used on this device was Android 4.1.2 (I think) and then he bricked it.
Even in Fastboot mode it says Fastboot USB and I still can't imagine why I get this result from Fastboot.
The Device reboots when I try to get into recovery so I can only flash trough Fastboot.
So can anyone help me reviving this htc or tell me at least its broken and I have to send it in or anything else.
I don't necessary need the stock rom, I am fine with any custom roms and stock android roms.
with best regards and I really appreciate any help

I would suggest you try with a Windows or Linux PC, looks like the error you are getting is only happening when using macOS. I'm definitively not an expert with mac so I can't help with that but if you can get your "fastboot getvar all" using Win or Linux, I can help you.
You have the wrong fastboot maybe, I used this device with mac os and other devices without any problem.
So, first you need to install homebrew if you don't have it already and after that do this command "brew install android-platform-tools"
Then you'll have fastboot and adb commands, just type them in terminal.
Thanks for the fast answers, i Installed jdk, sdk, platform-tools already via Android Studio, unfortunately i dont use Windows anymore and I already tried this with my old windows pc and this didnt work out because the pc hasnt connected at all to the device

Note that Windows 8.1 or 10 will fail to connect to your phone in fastboot mode because of the old 1.44 hboot. (issue was solved with later hboot versions) Windows 8.0, 7 or XP should work just fine, as long as HTC's drivers are installed. I don't think hboot 1.44 is an issue with macOS but again I can't help with macOS, I (almost) never user this OS.
Nope, hboot is not a problem on Mac os, I don't tried and and fastboot from Android studio but I'm very sure the fatsboot from Homebrew is working perfectly with m7

I tried homebrew but i am facing issues with Java 9 and i need to install java 8, because the Android sdk platform tools wont work with Java 9 for now, and I cant get rid of Java 9 because i had trouble by uninstalling it. So i am going to try a clean install of java 8 tonight.
