Android Run Time? - Moto X Q&A

Maybe a stupid question, but if its better, why isn't ART set as the default for 4.4+? I just made the switch. 207 apps, conversion time was 12 minutes. I'll post here if I find any of my apps aren't compatible.

Been using ART for a few weeks and I noticed an immediate positive change in responsiveness (placebo?). There are two apps, however, both of which I use often, that are much slower to load on ART than they were with Dalvik enabled; Facebook and the Pulse news reader app. Once opened they are both super slick and not prone to stuttering, they just take a good 2 or 3 seconds to open if I haven't used them recently. I haven't found any apps to force close or flat-out not work.

I read complaints that video playback stuttered with ART on the x. Both YouTube and gallery. Either of you notice that?

My understanding is that it's currently in beta, so they do not want to make it the default yet.

[DEV]Sense 2.1 possible notifications menu modification.(seeking help)

Ok This idea came to me earlier today, sense 2.1 roms (Speedy ports) have a recently used apps bar in the notifications menu. Well I found a better use for it,
Instead of seeing the app you just closed why not display common everyday apps? e.g. phone, flashlight, facebook, twitter, camera. See that way you don't have to run around your UI to find what you want, It's simply a drag and drop away

The con is this.
Making the apks run in a list and then closing (background) constantly may effect you wanting to see your recently used apps (The one where you just long press home button and it displays) those apps the first 4 or so will be which ever default you have set up. any way I'm seeking some help with this I'm not new but nor am I marinated in sense feature modifying.
Any one interested?
also My current method an apk that opens and closes each app seems to cause issues (obviously) so I'm seeking help in doing the proper system edit to get this Modification up and running.

Is this the correct way to use Greenify?

Hello there
I've always heard great things about greenify and I finally decided to give it a shot. This is how I set it up for now:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Does that mean that these applications will not run in the background anymore and I'd only receive notifications from them, for instance, when I run them?
And one more thing:
What does this mean and do?
Thank you very much. If this is not the correct section and that Apps and Games is more appropriate, please let me know and I'll edit/delete this.

thats ok but i would not hibernate facebook ... i want to get messages or notification
i would asphalt moto hibernate too... and some others i dont need
Thank you for your reply, but AsphaltMoto and other games aren't actually running in the background, are they? I mean when I check under Settings > Apps > Running I only see a few applications which are basically system ones but I don't see the ones listed under "May slow down the device when.." so do I really have to hibernate them as well?

[Q] What do you do with your Google glasses?

I need some ideas.
Still figuring that out as i go..
At the moment, I mainly use my Google Glass to record stories from my older relatives and do in car video recording (had a gopro previously), like the notifications via IFTTT about when it is snowing or raining. Also get my google now alerts, email, txts, phone call alerts on it too. Also have been listening to my google music with it too while walking about and of course the navigation features are cool too.
I like not having to pull out phone; even though sometimes it's easier. Voice control is a bit weird to get used to initially but is pretty decent. My biggest geek use of it though is controlling my Philips Hue bulbs by voice with it. Some sample pics (vignettes = overlays of photo and glass display, very fun!).
Still a lot to be improved but now that more and more people have it; we are seeing new apps each week.

and yes, i would let you try them on if i ran into you in public if you asked nicely and seemed interested

Google Chrome killing my battery

So just from today i started getting a weird "sandbox" process that was killing my battery, google it a littlw bit and found out that its a common issue, some nexus 5 owners said it was...
But none have found a way to solve it, in fact its now a normal thing on google chrome according to some stuff ive read (as it actually manages tabs).
Has anyone see thay ? Did anyone ever found a fix for it ?
I stopped using Chrome (using Dolphin/CM) and voila, battery back to normal, sad because i actually like Chrome

@Faruko, I've never seen this. But I noticed that you were running Chrome beta. If you like the Chrome browser, why don't you try the Chrome stable app?

Multi-Tasking Glitch - Internet Browsers blacked out on the bottom of the screen

tI've been using my Note 8 for about a week and a half and I've encountered a really annoying bug that wasn't there on the first day.
When I'm in any kind of multi-tasking screen, any Internet Browser on the bottom half of the screen is blanked out. So for example, in the two screenshots below, I have Amazon and NewEgg open in Samsung Browser and Chrome at the same time. Whichever one is on the bottom is completely blanked out. If I switch which app is on the bottom, it switches which one will be blacked out.
In my phone, it looks black, but in the screenshots below it looks white.
Anyone know what this could be? Admittedly, it could be a lot of different things--I've been toying with Bx Actions, Bk package disabler / ADB, Nova Launcher, my settings, etc...
As it stands now, the rest of the phone works great, but I may have to factory reset my device.
It would also help if someone can tell me how to reliably create a bunch of restore points so I can move in iterations next time I set everything up.
Thanks
