One of the many ROMs i've tried had this feature in it. When you have an app open you can press the back button to force close it. Unfortunately i dont remember which ROM this was, but hopefully some here can help me out with this. Is there any way i can have this feature in any ROM i install or is this something specific to some ROMs?
Thanks a lot for any help provided!!
I believed it's a GB 2.3 feature
Settings>Applications>Development>Stop app via long press.
Hey thanks a million baseball!!!! Thanks for the quick reply, i feel dumb for not checking the settings first! :/
Running stock 2.3.3 and can confirm it's not there. It used to be in CM6.1.1, that's all I know for sure.
Im running an AOSP 2.3.2 with CM and its there. I'm super happy with this build!! no phone wonkiness, battery life is awsome, and it moves very smoothly!
It's a CM feature...
Also in MIUI.
I confirm, it's a MIUI feature
Can be found in most of the recent roms now. Especially the gingerbread ones.

Well, I'm pretty sure it was introduced in CM and then copied to MIUI but then again they share code from time to time so it doesn't matter.

Probably because almost all roms on XDA now just copy CM pretty much straight up.
im using stock 2.2 with a few tweaks and the dialer from community rom, could anybody please port the AOSP Answer to that dialer?
if i could get also the AOSP lockscreen for 2.2 would be great, i know there is that mod with 6 lockscreen but i don't need all that, im trying to keep it clean and simple.
thanks guys
Im sure at some point sbrissen will update his mods package. Which all of those things are included.

sbrissen updates his mods thread shortly after com rom is out...so the unthemed versions should be out soon...at that point you could rip the dialer and phone from com rom if u want those themes from it..if not his stock themed ones are just what ur looking for
I just wanted to know how to implement the feature of touch based volume control like in ICS roms in CM7 roms like mebitek i.e cyanogenmod..
I know itz present in CyanmobileX but that rom is too full of features ad cm7 by mebitek is better than that.
and the question is because my power button not working. i have remapped volume up for power button. hence cant increase volume in GB based roms. i have to use ICS because of this. bt they dont have good battery. some roms do have but ultimately ICS roms never match battery backup when compared to GB based roms.
Hence anyone who knows some developing or modding can u please tell me how to implement volume control using touchscreen.
Thanks in advance to all.....!!:good:

Instead of going through all the trouble just use a 3rd party app with widget to modify the sound else you can go again and again in settings...

yes you need a custom kernel but i dont think the 4.2 sense kernels are fully working. check the dev threads

Most of the 4.2.2 kernels have issues with IR Sensor and 1080p native video playback but works with third party players.
Hi, Guys

well, theres no app for that. its actually very simple to add it to a rom, you just have to build it into the settings. just about every rom includes it, except they are all aosp roms, not stock. considering that nobody can build a "stock" rom, only aosp.
