yes but it says "there is no updates" maybe because im in Colombia? but how do I update manually?
That might be the problem, I'm not sure if there is an RUU available for the latest build, as I do not have the international version, I can look real quick.

Hmmm, you should be getting updates, it's not due to the country you are in.
Your best bet is to back up your sd card and any settings you want to keep, and then install the latest RUU, which should be 4.06.1540.2. The RUU will restore all settings to stock.
If you can't find that, an earlier RUU should allow updates too. The RUU can be run in Windows, just follow the on screen instructions.

Hi!! I'm from Venezuela, I bought my Incredible S S710e unlocked from amazon.com. My question is: will I be able to upgrade OTA? I've seen that many people have got the update already and I don't know if I can. or how can I get it.
Since my phone is not from Venezuela what can I do to get this upgrade.. my phone is stock.
Does this upgrade depends on the country where the phone was made? Or where its been used? Becouse I think HTC doesn't support Venezuela.
Sorry for my English, I hope you understand my doubt and help me..
Thank you!!

If you have a S710E unlocked and it is running Gingerbread version 2.30.405.1, then you should be able to go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Updates and push the Check Now button and you should get the OTA update notification.
If not, then you could try installing the 3.08.405.3 RUU using a goldcard.
sure u want to upgrade to sense 3?

2.3.3 is the version of Android, 2.30.xxx and 3.08.xxx are the HTC ROM versions.
If you go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information, it will show you both the Android version and the Software number.
This thread has a link to the official HTC ROMs that have been made available:

3.08.405.3 is the latest one and corresponds Android version 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0

Yes the most recent one posted by football is an official RUU.
I tried flashing the official one by renaming it to pg32img.zip but it says installation aborted. I did it through rom manager though. Any suggestions

Of course you guys CAN NOT! Even if you're supercid you CAN NOT!
First you need to install this RUU: RUU_VIVO_SENSE30_S_HTCCN_CHS_3.09.1400.7_Radio_20.4802.30.0822U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_237362_signed
Second you can run this RUU, and only then:
OTA-VIVO-ICS-35-S-HTCCN-CHS-4.08.1400.2-3.09.1400.7-release-264230rsi8pgoc0lc0k4xe.zip
Third and only at last you can run this RUU:
OTA_VIVO_ICS_35_S_HTCCN_CHS_4.08.1400.3-4.08.1400.2_release_264573gxkspn0rakg03dic.zip
ONLY then and only then you got the latest full stock and official HTC ICS ROM for now. And yes, maybe you need supercid to install the first RUU, cause it's meant for Chinese devices with Chinese cidnums.
I am using an incredible s on Virgin Mobile Canada. I am being told that this device is not being updated to Android 4.0. Instead, HTC told me to go to htcdev[dot]com/devcenter/downloads to download the operating system. I have a couple questions;
1. What region do I use; TW, WWE, AU, TUR, SPA, HK CHT, CN CHS, etc. ?
2. What description number; 4.08.1400.5, 4.14.980.2, 4.10.708.1, etc. ?
And most importantly,
3. How do I do install the new operating system on my phone?
Would be a great help! Thanks! :cyclops:

Thanks, But on the HTCDev site there is only a CRC. Is this the same? Will it update to ICS? If not, can I use an RUU for another device instead?
and is it possible to do on a mac via the htcdev website?
and does the phone need to be rooted?

Virgin Mobile gave you bad information. At the HTCDEV.com site, you will only find the kernel source code for the devices. HTC no longer has a public download site where you can download the actual RUU (ROM Update Utility).
You need to go to the Development section and look at the "Shipped ROMs" sticky thread. There you will find a link to a site that has several RUU's for the IncS. You probably want to get the ICS WWE 4.10.405.1 RUU.
Upgrade, deregionalise without GoldCard?
QUOTING FROM THE DEVELOPMENT THREAD (I'm not allowed to post there):
Default HTC releases 3 ICS RUU on HTCDEV.com
HTC has posted 3 Incredible S ICS RUUs on [htcdev]
All 3 are labeled 4.14.405.2 and when I examined the N.American/Canadian version here is what I found:
1. android-info.txt lists all IncS modelids and has wildcards for most CID. This means that this RUU is generic and probably could be used on any IncS WITHOUT the need for a goldcard.
2. HBOOT version is now 2.03.
3. A newer radio is included.
ENDQUOTE.
Thanks for this, I've been reading the forums for two days now trying to figure out what the best way to upgrade my Incredible S is. This looks like it might be it, but I would like to make sure -- any advice is appreciated.
I am using an Incredible S from Virgin Mobile Canada. It is running the stock Android 2.3.3 OTA update from August 2011. I left Canada and paid to have Virgin SIM unlock the phone. Since then I have never seen another operating system update notification, I assume because I am now decoupled from Virgin's update server or some such.
The phone is S-ON and that's fine, I do not need anything fancy or custom, at least for now. I would just like my phone to receive stock HTC Incredible S upgrades -- I know there is one for 2.3.5 which I hear is quite good.
I spent last night making a GoldCard -- but now, as your post makes clear, it looks like there is a stock Android 4 RUU that will upgrade my phone and de-regionalise it. Does this sound right? I have downloaded the RUU you linked (they list 3, but I think it's all the same file, which is encouraging since I want it de-regionalised), and I'll hunt down a Windows machine to run it if indeed this is what I want.
Two further questions:
How best to backup the phone? I've seen apps like Titanium but it looks like the phone needs to be rooted. Is it really possible to revert back to 2.3.3 afterwards? From what I'm seeing it looks as though downgrading can be as hard as upgrading.
Do we know if this release of Android 4 is really better than 2.3.5? If it's still buggy, perhaps using the GoldCard and 2.3.5 would be worth it.
Thanks very much.
I understood that your phone is s-on, but do you still have warranty to force you to stay, or you want to try to s-off? I'm asking you this cause if you s-off your device you'll have a wide range of possibilities for roms without need to make a gold card or use RUUs, even with Revolutionary hboot. Also, returning back to s-on from Revolutionary s-off is not hard at all.

Thanks for the replies.
Regarding S-OFF, I will certainly think about that in the future; for now I'm happy with just sticking to the official HTC upgrades and see how I like it.
I agree that this new ICS RUU from htcdev looks like it will work straight out of the box, as it were. Only my two final questions remain:
1. How best to backup the phone?
2. Is ICS going to run slowly/buggily on my Incredible S (now an older phone)? I suppose the only way to be sure is to try it...
Thanks again.

There have been complaints of ICS running slowly on IncS, that is with the official release, however many custom roms are lightning fast..

This is the file I used to upgrade my incs to ICS: http://dl4.htc.com/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/One_Generic_code_Vivo.zip
I'm on Bell Canada, the above file is a generic Canadian ROM. You'll be missing the Virgin bloatware, but if you need it, you can get it from the Google Play Store.
How are you finding it runs, noticeably better or worse than Gingerbread?
Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I have a HTC Salsa after some issues with logging into google market place I decided to reflash with the following stock Salsa ROM found on XDA:
RUU_Icon_G_HTC_Europe_1.12.401.1_R_Radio_47.14.35.3030H_7.47.35.17_release_193257_signed.exe
The reflash was successful, but my handset shows software version:
1.12.401.1_R
It used to be:
1.12.401.10
Kernel version is also different.
Does anyone have the stock RUU for software version 1.12.401.10?
...or can anyone suggest how to get the system.img file from an existing handset which does have version 1.12.401.10?
Knd Rgds,
yyo
Good luck. Never play with a systeem iimg. What is your area or country.
There will be no way of getting your exact system back. Its damn near impossible. Closest you will get is by flashing a stock rom. But by the sound of it you have a stock unit.
I'm interested in wwhy u would reinstall the ruu to fix a google play error though. But silly lol, nether the less u did it.
If u tell me your country I maybe able to point u in thee right direction more. But as said. U won't get your original stock back again. And your kernel is bound to be different its newer. Ever thought the ruu u tried is newer than what u had?

Hmm..., doesn't sound good.
Unless version 1.12.401.1_R is newer than version 1.12.401.10 the RUU found here at XDA is older than the version shipping with the handset. HTC is guilty of a lot of things but versioning software in reverse is not one I've some across yet!
My handset was purchased in Nov '12 in the UK and I used the Europe Stock RUU to flash, it was the only one with a version code similar to mine.
Any ideas?

yeah flash the O2 UK one found here >http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?n7e11cv3zzop25a this is version 1.18.206.2
regardless of which network your with...the salsa in the uk is primarily O2
version code just means its the shipped version. the newer the code the better the version. you will notice alot of changes in this ruu including the kernel code but do not worry. it is normal.

Thanks for the assistance, I bought the handset sim-free (off network) so it was true HTC stock - no additional network provider rubbish.
I'm downloading now and wil give the O2 ROM a bash later on.
I also have an unmolested HTC Salsa running the stock rom 1.12.401.10, is there any way to extract it?
KRgds, yyo
No, u maybe able to when u unlock the bootloader and install reecovery, but swapping img files from roms is dangerous and not recommended.
Although its sim free, all salsas in the uk are predominantly O2. It will work, it'll just have so new options there. My suggestion is get it working and test everything. Wifi data Bluetooth etc.

Thanks BigBearEvo all working now, tested the hardware and all looks ok, a number of 'extras' there but I can live with that.
I would note that although the version number is greater, the 02 RUU is dated June 2012 whereas my previous HTC RUU was dated Oct 2012.
Looks like my previous HTC RUU was newer, probably HTC's last update to the Europe RUU before they dropped support for the handset.
Cheers for your help, yyo

Hey guys. I am new to Sprint and new to Htc One HK edition. I have a question though. What is the latest android version?
When I booted the phone it was on 4.4.2 and did some ota and the last one was 4.4.3 I see online that there is 4.4.4 but my phone is not giving it to me. IF 4.4.4 was out for HK edition when was it released?
The latest official Android version is 4.4.4. Software version for the HK M8 is 3.30.654.2. It was released at the end of October.

You can try the RUU. You can find it in the second link in my sig, towards the bottom of the first post. Follow the directions for the manual installation. If you've unlocked your bootloader you will need to relock it prior to running the RUU.
