Hey Guys I have a factory Note 2 and just bought a galaxy gear the other day. I have seen reports of this watch working with the s4 and even the htc one. Can someone help me get this thing working with my note 2? I found the .apk file online and was able to download and install it to my note 2 and successfully connect the gear to my note 2 via bluetooth but the gear seems to be stuck on the spinning screen. It will take and send calls via the phone and work as a bluetooth head set but that's all. Thanks again in advance for all the help!!!
Not sure it is currently working with gn2. I think you will have to wait for 4.3 like the rest of us. The clock working on it? I have the gn2 as well and been waiting for someone to mention they got it working. If you got it to sync I assume you got the clock at least working.

After playing with it for a while I finally got it to work with the apk file posted on another thread here. CONFIRMED the galaxy gear works for the factory 4.1.2 note 2. Unfortunately so far the weather, contacts, notifications and svoice doesn't sync with the gnote2 but everything else seems to work.

The 2nd post in the thread titled "gear mmanager .apk" I too was stuck on the spinning wheel when I hit the gear manager from the aptoid app. The one referenced in there works well.

Same place as you currently but glad it isn't a paper weight waiting lol. Wonder if we change the device specs like how you can install Google wallet. If we do this wonder if we could access programs and stuff for the watch also.

Yea I know right lol I dont know. . . I could be worth a try but I think the phone needs the 4.3 update for the new bluetooth compatability. I can honestly say that I'm kinda of disappointed that Samsung hasn't released the 4.3 update for the s3, s4, and note 2 already.

) is exactly the case for me. If you can get a .apk of the gear manager certain functions will work except for what was listed above.

As of right now with stock (NOT ROOTED) NOTE 2 here is a summary of what I have working:
Working:
Camera: Works, syncs on any settings correctly (charging sync only etc)
Timer: Works (doesnt need BT for any function)
Stopwatch: Works (doesnt need BT for any function)
Voice memo: Works, syncs on any settings correctly
Gallery: Works, syncs on any settings correctly
Pedo: Works (doesnt need BT for any function)
Schedule / Calender: WORKS, I've heard others having problems? Mine does sync with my events.
Contacts: WORKS, I've heard others having problems? Mine does sync with my contacts. Settings also change (Choose all contacts or just favorites)
Logs: Works, syncs on any settings correctly
Not Working:
Weather: does NOT work. Gear wants me to change settings on widget / within gear but still doesn't sync weather (displays "no info")
SVoice: does NOT work. Same as weather, wants settings changed in SVoice but still doesn't relay info.
Notifications: Does NOT work. Nothing will push to the Galaxy Gear for a notification (email, sms, google, FB, etc)
As for the apps, I can navagate into the gear manager, select apps, go into the market where the Gear apps exist and attempt to download however once they begin to install I get an error "try later" (0). All gear apps (not included in the gear manager) are not available to me. Not sure if they can be downloaded on the side as .apk's and used? I can't find any to try.
Sidenote: The BT seems to be functioning normally, I get auto detection and maintain pairing all day.

I just picked up my Samsung Galaxy Gear this morning I own an S3 and a Note 2 but yesterday after trying in vain do download the Gear Manager app from the Samsung Apps Store from my desktop browser there it was in the search but it is only available for download through Kies. When you plug in your device, Kies asks for the Android version, won’t accept 4.3 and if you type 4.1.2 then the gear manager app disappears from the search.
I downloaded the apk from xda instead and it installed perfectly on both my devices. It turns out that the Gear and gear manager work properly with the exception of Notifications, the Weather and S-voice. With S-voice you get prompted on the gear to accept the terms of use agreement on your mobile but it does not appear on your device screen so the s-voice use on the gear does not continue. Notifications and Weather update doesn’t work but everything else does.

Actually the gear is nothing more then a watch with phone functionality. ..

I've searched every day for anything released that allows GG and Note 2 functionality (I.E. notifications weather etc) to work fully. Nothing still ... anyone else have any luck?
I downloaded the Samsung internet app for the Samsung gear VR for the first time today, and I noticed that everything works fine on the app, but as soon as I hit the search bar to type in an input, it comes up with the usual pop up window saying "listening". I try and speak and it doesn't pick up anything, just stays on listening. If I try and go on the keyboard input, I can hover over the keyboard icon by looking at it and it shines blue, but I can't actually click on it, so the keyboard input menu doesnt come up. I can't click on anything at all and I can't get rid of the window. I have to go back to the oculus main menu and load up the app again to reset it. Any ideas why this is?

I have a Note 5 (model SM-920V), android 7.0..
Today I started getting a blue screen after making a call, it shows " Call Reminder" at the top of the screen, then gives a time saying "00:00 This Call Was Successfully Identified", a name for the phone number that is slightly different from my contact info, then shows an Ad at the bottom.
I have not downloaded anything new on my phone recently, I tried using CCleaner, and Lookout apps and they haven't been able to remove it. It's there anyone who knows what app this is malware from or how it was installed on my phone??

Blue screen Call Reminder issue
hi dear could you get any solution for this issue???
My issue is stemming from the GO SMS Pro application. I have a Samsung S7 and tested this by first disabling Notifications and all permissions for the GO SMS Pro app. After this, the annoying blue screen Call Reminder stopped coming up. Once I gave Notifications and the Permission for that app to use "Phone" it returned. I currently don't know how to specifically disable this feature while still being able to use the GO SMS Pro app as I did before, but I can tell you that it is frustrating. Hopefully some really nice and smart person reads this and figures it out

I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!! Go into the GOsms messaging app. Choose the far right icon (mine looks like a person). Choose "General" then scroll down to "Other." One of the options is "Phone Number Recognition." Turn it OFF!!!!!!! I think that fixed it for me!
Issue resolved
I had "vault" app which was creating this problem. Disabled all it's access from settings->apps>app permissions->
The blue screen is gone now.. my device is one plus 3T

Somehow I activate this feature.
When scrolling in facebook apps, I click on some video.
It starts to play in fullscreen. When I select back button
to get back in the newsfeed, the video still appears in mini
window, which I can move over the screen. When I throw it
in some direction, up, left... It's gone.

Its not activated by you, its a new feature of Facebook.
There were a question and I select yes, so I think I should be able to turn it off.
scroll capture works great everywhere except in the Messages app. it does a tiny scroll then won't scroll capture anymore.
for anyone who isn't familiar when you do volume down + power to take a screenshot, at the bottom it offers "scroll capture" so you can take a screenshot of a whole website or chat log.
does it fail to work for anybody else inside Messages?

Tested this again. Scroll capture works for me on the main list of recipients but if I go into a text & try scroll capture it does not work. Cleared app data for Messages & now it's working fine.
After clearing app when I opened Messages it asked if I wanted to set text limits. Which reminds me, I don't have mine set to delete old messages (limit 200 for sms). I remember running into funny issues before, texts would fail to send & something else. Deleting the ones I had with way more than 200 in them would fix the issue. Not sure if this scroll capture issue is related.
did anyone ever figure out why it does not work
I am having the same problem. I will take a screen shot and hold down on scroll capture and it will only move just a little bit in the text message but if I take a screen shot and use the scroll capture on the internet it will work fine. Does anyone have any solution to this? I have a Samsung galaxy s 8 plus.
