Google now was there and worked well, it disappeared by itself. Whatever I try, it doesn't show up the "Google now" menu any more. Does anybody know how to get it back?

At the risk of stating the obvious, have you tried swiping the screen from the bottom up?
It would go under RTFM.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I did swipe from the bottom up. Only Google search bar shows. In the setting on the right bottom, there is no "Google now" option. I read manual many times and couldn't find out.

Try opening the Voice Search app in the app drawer and then going to settings. Does it show bow?

Finally I found a way around. Sign up and add a new Google account, and it is back immediately under both accounts. Thanks guys.

All you needed to do was turn off Google now and turn it on again, works for me.

The problem is that it even didn't give me turn on/off option.

Okay, I had to factory restore my D4, after the ice update. Lots of weird issues, but after the restore it's a lot better. Now my issue is, I don't use the default text program, I use Chompsms. I want to change the lock screen default text apps to the one I use, and anyone know how to do this?

Menu >settings >apps> all find text messaging disable... let me know...

Doing that give the desired effect, it makes Chomp my default sms on my lock screen. Except it disables my incoming text message.

I do apologize I only sent out test messages.... only other way may be to get an app like "WidgetLocker Lock screen"....
Sent from my DROID4 using xda app-developers app
Okay thanks for your help, and I will look for one.
Sent from my GT-P7310 using xda premium
Set chompsms as your default app, I did for gosms and it switched my lock screen.
Sent from my DROID4 using xda app-developers app
How.. in what settings menu...

Does this work?
http://www.chompsms.com/faq
How do I stop two notifications, or How do I make chompSMS the default messaging app? Turn Notification Off in the native messaging app, turn Notification On in chompSMS, then restart your phone.
Sent from my DROID4 using xda app-developers app
Didn't work... did stop duel notification yet stock messaging still on lock screen
Sent from my DROID4 using xda app-developers app
It took me a couple of tries, and I finally set chomp to default sms but still no go on the lock screen.

I really like my new Moto X but touch less control has been disappointing. I'm batting about 60% on activating Google Now.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Did you "train" the phone to your voice? Or does it even requires it?
Sent from my MB886 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I've trained the phone multiple times. Touchless control will not work when the phone is on deep sleep. Works OK otherwise.
Sent from my XT1058 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Working perfect on my Rogers version.

It works perfectly for me. Just one silly question: how do I get the phone to greet me with my name instead of simple good morning or good afternoon? Where is the setting for the greeting phrase? Thanks!
Thaught I would start a thread for bug reports so we don't get cluttered.

If you have more than one notification, swipe away the top one. The rest teleport to the top with no animation. That alone has me back on 4.1.2
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
not sure if its related but ever since i updated all my contact photos in the text message app that were linked to my friends facebook pics are all now blank and i cant get them to come back and stay, i went into the facebook app and "sync with existing contacts" and i went into settings and synced facebook contacts in there also
I don't know ifthis is a bug, but what ifs the purpose of the day dream setting. My phone didn't fully charge last night, probably because the screen kept coming on. Other than that I don't really notice anything that is greatly different. I am however hoping that the no SIM card issues are fixed.

There are no bugs. And not sure what the Hell this guy keeps saying about notifications teleporting to the top without animation??

If you're in the Twitter beta, you can't get Twitter to show up in blinkfeed. Best way around it is uninstall all the updates, link your account in blinkfeed and then update to the beta again.

I asked in another thread, but it might get more answers here. On 4.3, I've had the stock music app reset the volume to all the way down/off twice. I'm using google Play music to see if I can get the same issue on that as well. I'm curious as to if anyone else has seen this particular issue.

That's not the ROM problem. That is your phone/sim issue. I believe most people have resolved it by taking out the sim, cleaning it, blowing out the contacts, and re-seating.
The firmware seems to cause a swap for those who did and did not have the purple camera issue. I didn't before, have it now. Boss had it before, doesn't now.

Something has gone horribly wrong..
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Bug: taking pictures or zoes in portrait mode and playing them in the highlights will double the image. Landscape pics and zoes are not affected.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I had the no SIM card error pop up, rebooted and it's gone. Been getting a weird Wi-Fi disconnect issue but it could probably just be my router. Other than that, no issues.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
The option to toggle whether open wifi connections are available is not working it is permanently turned on even after factory reset. Also roaming guards cannot be toggled off and alot of apps force close after closing them but that one could be they are not updated for 4.3 yet.

For those of you on Verizon that got the update for Kit Kat, does the phone dialer include the ability to search for businesses in the dialer itself? I'm on the leak for AT&T right now and all seems to work except that feature
Sent from my XT1058 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I just installed 4.4 and the dialer will only search existing contacts...
Sent from my XT1060 using xda app-developers app
yep, same here
Someone needs to figure this out!
Is the feature supposed to search the phone book?
Sent from my XT1058 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
if you search via name... it'll find the phone number.
but if you search via t9 method; then it wont do it.
Yup only searches existing contacts.
Sent from my XT1060 using xda app-developers app
And it doesn't search business listings on inbound calls I don't think. Can't someone port the dialer now that we have the right framework?
Not sure if Motorola rushed the update for the press, or if Google's hogging all the features for the Nexus 5...
