Hello guys, i'm trying to install the latest stable version of CyanogenMod from CM's website (cm-10.2.0-m7ul) for my HTC One International version.
I've rooted it using TWRP latest version (2.6.3.3). I also have S-OFF active. The problem is, after i'm entering Recovery Mode and Wipe Data, when i want to install the .zip file i get this error (see the picture below).

2.6.3.4 is out, give it a try: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
So do you think that my TWRP version is the problem, and updating to the latest version will solve this issue ? If so, could you tell me how to update to the latest version ?

download from above link, don't use a download manager on that site, and check MD5 sum, then
in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.4-m7ul.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY and try to flash again, if problem persists could be a bad download.
I've done your steps. I've installed the custom ROM aftter that. Works great. Thanks !

Hey there!
I have a really big problem!
in the beginning, i installed an old version of TWMP recovery, but when i wanted to install a new rom i couldn't and i read that you have to install a new version of the recovery so i did. After that i had two problems, the first one is that i have two recoveries in my device and don't ask me how cuz i don't know! But when i reboot my device it opens the old version of the recovery and when i reboot the recovery it opens the new one!!!
The main problem is that my laptop can't recognized my device any more but in the fastboot mode, so when i want to sideload any rom it says no device found.
I downloaded the last htc driver but nothing changed! HELP ME PLEAS.

First of all, very strange regarding recovery, so download twrp 2.6.3.3 then
fastboot flash recovery recovery_name.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then........
Try updating your adb and fastboot, you can only sideload or push a Rom to your phone using adb commands with the phone in recovery

2.6.3.3 is the most reliable and recommended version, as for the error, check the md5 and file size of the file you downloaded, sounds like a bad or incomplete download to me.

Thank you a lot man for your help! I really appreciate it. But I figure out the problem.
The problem was that I tried to install a new room via an old recovery, so I sideloaded an old version of CM and when it worked I put the new ROM via my computer and flashed the new recovery version "still not found by my pc" but I all ready have the new ROM in the sdcard!
Hi all,
I'm trying to update my TWRP on my phone in preparation for picking up the latest android revoltuion 30.1 ROM. Following info here: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/225 I tried:
1) Using the app in the app store - my phone is rooted. It detects my previous install but when I try to install the newest one TWRP crashes out - appears to be a known issue according to their site.
2) Tried fastboot method. This 'appears' to work - shows sending info to the phone, says ok. But on the phone if I try to enter recovery I get stuck on the white HTC screen with 'entering recovery' at the top. I tried following Q13 on the FAQ (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228274) which asks me to fastboot erase cache. I did this. Same issue. The phone is mostly unresponsive - I have to hold vol up + power for a minute for it to hard reboot, which works fine.
The odd thing is that my TWRP claims I have version 2.8.4.0 installed. Why can't I get into Recovery?
Thanks!
First you are in the wrong forum, this is the M7 forum not, M8.

Does ARHD 30.1 really need the latest twrp? Just saying cause here in the M7 forum, we still use 2.6.3.3 to flash ARHD because some newer version of TWRP are buggy as hell. Make sure TWRP 2.8.4.0 is needed before updating it, a recovery is not something you want to be always up-to-date, it must be stable. Newer doesnt always = better.

fastboot is the most reliable and safe method to flash a recovery imo.

This FAQ is for the M7 but anyway should also do this (fastboot erase cache) on your M8.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Also check the MD5 of your recovery to be 100% sure it match the given value on the download page, if its not matching, you have a bad download.
Thanks so much for the reply - can't believe I posted in the wrong forum, sorry about that!
Awesome advice re: version - I tried an earlier version and it now works fine following your method. Thanks loads!
i tried to root my phone and install roms but then when i flashed the viper rom something went wrong and my phone would only go on recovery (twrp) i panicked... and cleared ALL the data, even my backup and including the os. I looked for guides and saw this one that shows how to install rom through adb, tried it and successfully installed android revolution, but when i try to reboot it says no os installed. please help
Firstly, which version of twrp are you using?
If it is the old ones, 6.* versions, please upgrade to the latest, then you can try side loading arhd or viper ROM once again. Should word. You can use HTC one toolkits available for m7, or use adb itself if you are familiar with it in a good level.
Install TWRP 2.8.5.0
Mount mtp copy zip to sd card
Unmount flash zip

sorry i really lack information, how do you correct system partition? and when you say format its the storage right?
so i would have to go to twrp then wipe and then format right? then install supersu and then android revolution?
Edit: i did whats above but when i flashed android revolution and clicked reboot it says no os nor supersu installed.. even after seeing the "you are now running android revolution" screen.

Put the phone in the first screen of TWRP
put your rom in the same folder as fastboot /adb
then in terminal adb push name-of-Rom.zip /sdcard
let it copy to the phone it takes a few min the command prompt will change when it's done
now install the rom with TWRP

Ok, so the ROM by pabx, This rom does not have in built arrangement for TWRP, you will have to compile it on your own.
You will find the steps here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/turorial-add-twrp-to-boot-img-t2951658
and then flash TWRP to Fotakernel first and then flash boot.img
learn something new everyday
could I flash a philz recovery?
I can't find a .zip and can't do "fastboot recovery.img "the philz.img
thanks
I have not tried Philz, so i cannot give you an answer.
you may want to head over to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/z-xzdualrecovery-qa-t2477769
Had the same problem.
TWRP Recovery wasn`t available after I flashed yuga.
Used "TWRP Manager" (only with root) which worked for me even when the app said that the installation failed. After rebooting I was able to enter TWRP again.
SO I installed This and I now have TWRP 2.8.
0! My rom won't boot any more, but who cares I can now install CM!..............I hope
have you tries the hack that oliver has on his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57718351&postcount=2
flash Olivers TWRP to FotaKernal and then from cm recovery flash the hack, reboot and enter recovery and check
I have not personally check but give it a try if you like.
after updating to xiaomi.eu 9.5.1 I lost Twrp and can no longer install. any suggestions thanks
Updating stock rom overwrites always recovery so far I know. Reflash TWRP again and you are fine.

I tried them almost all, maybe the installation procedure is wrong
the procedure I follow is:
1-I install my stock with Miflash
2 - Developer Options
3- Usb debugging
4- fastboot flash etc ..
5- start Twrp - I see the encrypted files,
6- format date
7 - restoration.
* It's correct?
solved
Try using TWRP from LR.Team/wzsx150 which in guide, news discussion forum
