Is it same CID and MID? if so yes it should work, if not then no it won't work (unless you are s-off).
Are you trying to go back to stock for warranty or for what's your goal? there's more than one way to skin a cat, but better be specific what you intend on doing, and post a "fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n before posting).

Thank you for your quick reply. I am trying to run an update. The phone is rooted and gives me an error when trying. When I get home from work, I will try to send information about the phone. Once again, thank you

To unlock and root the phone, I followed this great guide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJYAS2KN17Y
The recovery.img is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172979
I am looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Claus.

I am trying to achive the OTA update, and be able to get future updates.

You need to install a stock recovery if you want to install ota updates on stock Rom
Have u made a nandroid backup of your stock Rom? There should be a recovery. img file in therex flash that via Fastboot then you can update

No, I did not make a backup. But I have two identical phones, and the other one is rooted after the update. Will it be possible to get the ROM out of this phone and copy it to the one that will not update?
If this is an option, please be kind to explain (step by step) what to do. Thank

theres no ruu file and will never exist.
the only way to going back to stock, visit htc1guru.com donwload a nandroid backup
find your right version or what you need, but danger !!!
for example if you have Android 4.3 and restore a nandroid backup with Android 4.2.2 (Downgrade)
the touchscreen will not work, its not broken, cuz they are other driver.
you wil lbe able to use only usb otg mouse

That's going to be a bit difficult as:
(bootloader) version-main:
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
implies you firmware version has disappeared.
given you're on "(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.54.0000"
means it should be a 2.24.xxx.x, you could try the 2.24.401.x from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463387
but if you unlocked your phone using HTCdev, then the preloaded apps will be missing, and OTA won't succeed.
I know I'm not helping much, so let me ask something possibly useful instead: how did you end up in this situation?

Thanks for helping me I ended up in this situation as follows:
1. I got the phones from a friend in Ireland, but I live in Denmark, and the Danish language was not in the phones.
2. I am new to Android, so thought that it just was a matter of a missing update. Phone no1 was updated to Android 4.3, but still no Danish language.
3. Did some research, and found out how to unlock and root the phone.
4. I was then able to install an App called morelocale2 which enabled the Danish language.
5. I would just do the same to phone no2, but did not realise that I wouldn't be able to update afterwards, so started with unlocking and rooting the phone. Phone no2 is in Danish now, and everything is working, except the update to Android 4.3. When I try to run the update, the phone goes into CMW-based Recovery v6.0.2.8, during bootup, and is not able to install the update due to an "unknown volume for path" O/DOWNLOAD/OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_S_02_UK_2.24.206.7 - 2.24.206.1_RELEASE_330728s8b3vbw3z7kcmsn.zip
Can I use something from the phone no1 to get no2 to work?
Looking forward to your reply.

how about we just convert your phone to your phone completely to international unbranded
but i gotto go now (sorry), if you do want to convert, get S-Off using rumrunner, then you'll be able to change the phone into whatever version/country/carrier you want
Leave the working phone alone: "if it works, dont fix it!!"

I have been trying now to run the rumrunner as described to get to S-OFF. Rumrunner starts doing its things, and after 10-12 min. Rumrunner ask me to press enter to exits the cmd prompt. The phone will now boot as normal, and I grant a permision from the Rumrunner. Everything seems fine, but the phone is still S-ON ???? I have done this now a couple of times with same result..??
What do I do now?

Well once you are S-Off:

you'll need to change your CID, here's a list of unbranded WWE CIDs:
Code:
HTC__001 --> HTC-WWE
HTC__016 --> VODA-Africa-South
HTC__032 --> HTC-EastEurope
HTC__102 --> HTC-GER
HTC__203 --> HTC-FRA
HTC__304 --> HTC-SPA
HTC__405 --> HTC-ITA
HTC__A07 --> HTC-Russia
HTC__E11 --> HTC-Dutch
HTC__J15 --> HTC-GCC
[B]HTC__Y13 --> HTC-Nor[/B]
So if you want Danish / Denmark, you'll need to change to use Y13, so in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot oem writecid HTC__Y13 (two underscores)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then run this RUU.exe from Windows7: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
this will downgrade everything to 1.28, and you should immediately start receiving all the OTA updates.
stay S-Off
and you might wanna think about custom ROMs, they have some nice touches & optimizations, but if it's not your thing, i can understand.

1) Verify antivirus/firewall is turned off and possibly uninstalled- this is a requirement of rumrunner
2) Which rom are you using? They ask for rom with insecure kernel, or a stock rom
Point is, read over the instructions on rumrunner.us

My point is , that there is something wrong with my phone.
I bought it and except from unlocking the bootloader , I didnt do any changes at all.
I get OTA that m carrier didnt released , even dough I have their CID and MID , and system vers (like I said , didnt do any changes)
I cant change my CID with simple fastboot command.
and rumrunner is just another problem , but its probably has something to do with all of the problems above.
and yes I disabled firewall and I don't have antivirus..

1- remove IMEI and s/n
2- use a 2.24.401.8 ROOTED rom, you can try Guru Reset (select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery"): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
then use rumrunner
I could be wrong, but from what I read hboot 1.5x+ do not allow you to S-OFF, so if you originally had HBOOT 1.44, you should have S-OFFed back then. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

doesnt matter it's not firmware, it's just a stock ROM close enough to your firmware (2.24.401.9), and rumrunner needs a rooted rom. (you install the rom just like any custom rom)
you can always try rumrunner with your current rom, if it doesnt work, then use the one i posted
good luck

hold on, which rom did he flash?
1- if it's a GPE 4.4, then he needs to be s-off
2- also for 4.4 roms you need this TWRP 2.6.3.3 recovery: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7 (dont use a download manager or it will fail, and check MD5)
flash that recovery, then reinstall the rom

[Q] Unable to update to 4.4

Hello,
I'm completely new to this so please bear with me. I bought an HTC One Mini off a Chinese seller on eBay. I have the "This is a test device" message in the "Tell HTC and error reporting" so from what I gathered, it means that it is S-OFF.
Edit: When trying to update, the update gets downloaded, phone reboots, I get the red warning with exclamation point and and it just reboots without updating.
To verify, I did the bootloader thing and it reads like so:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-1111111111
HDBOOT-1.55.0000
ADIO-4A.20.3263.16
OpenDSO-v32.120.274.0909
OS-3.22.1540.1
eMMC-boot 2048Mb
Sept 17 2013
1. What's the easiest way to get back to a place where I'll be able to update to KitKat and get rid of that message which doesn't involve too much complications?
I'm a web programmer so I'm not exactly a computer illiterate but I must say I'm completely lost.
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thank you!

The jpg of your getvar all did not show up properly. You have to copy and paste it. Based on the OS it looks like it might be a Dev Ed M7. When you post the getvar all remove the imei and serial number!
If you copied your cid correctly, then there should only have eight (8) "1" instead of nine. This post has a listing of all of the OTA beginning with your version. In order for the updates to run properly, you must have the stock recovery, stock rom and maybe some preloaded apps. This post will explain what the OTA is looking for.

Everything I can see make me believe you don't have an htc one mini but an htc one (m7) dev edition (which is a really good thing imo). Measure the display diagonal and you'll known.
4.7 inches for a M7
4.3 inches for a mini
If you have a m7 dev edition you could use the 3.22.1540 ruu to restore your phone back to stock and you'll then be able to apply ota. Red triangle with exclamation mark means there is a missing/modified system file. The ota is patching system files so if one of them is missing or modified, the installation will fail. restoring with the ruu should fix this issue. make a backup of your files before, the ruu will wipe everything on your phone.

Everything I can see make me believe you don't have an htc one mini but an htc one (m7) dev edition (which is a really good thing imo). Measure the display diagonal and you'll known.

Turns out I have a M7, seller apparently sent me the wrong phone.
Since I'm not able to find out my cid, does any RUU 3.22.1540 work
? Even US ones (like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460534 ) or can I find a Euro one? Would you mind pointing me to one that will work?
After, can I follow this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082 ?
Thank you

The jpg of your getvar all did not show up properly. You have to copy and paste it. Based on the OS it looks like it might be a Dev Ed M7. When you post the getvar all remove the imei and serial number!
If you copied your cid correctly, then there should only have eight (8) "1" instead of nine. This post has a listing of all of the OTA beginning with your version. In order for the updates to run properly, you must have the stock recovery, stock rom and maybe some preloaded apps. This post will explain what the OTA is looking for.

Edit your last post to REMOVE the imei and serial number!
You can use the guide as reference but you just need to run the RUU. To run the RUU just double click it once you have it downloaded to your PC.
Go to the HTC Support Site and filter One M7 in the first box and Brightstar in the second. Then select Find Files, select the 3.22.1540.1 Developer Edition RUU to download. Use this RUU, it is directly from HTC.

you should first fix MID and CID, PN071**** is not good, imho
since you are S-OFF, your phone can be anything you want, so please explain what you'd like it to be, before I link the appropriate files

What I wanted was:
- Get the OTA update
- Get rid of the "This is a test device" message
The OTA update is now coming through after adding a clean RUU and I'm about to put s-on back in order to get rid of the message.
Is the fact that the MID and CID not there an issue?

going S-ON is going to be a really bad idea.
first fix your MID and CID!!!
MIDs should be (as far as I'm aware):
PN0710000 -> international M7_UL
PN0711000 -> international M7_U
PN0712000 -> US/Canada M7_UL
PN0713000 -> US T-Mobile M7_UL
PN0714000 -> Asia M7_UL
To change your MID to one of the above (PN0710000 for example), you can use this tool: [TOOL] MID change without ENG HBOOT | Aroma GUI
which you use in a custom recovery.
CID choices will be dependent on the MID you choose.
you are looking for serious trouble staying on PN071**** and going S-ON.

Just easier to stay s-off even though I'm complete newbie?
If I ever sell the phone, I'll need to go s-on, if I go for PN0710000, what CID should I be using (I'm in the UK)?
Once, I change the CID/MID, I'm all set to go back to s-on?

UK would be MID: PN0710000
CID would usually be HTC__001 <- two underscores, CID is exactly 8 characters
CIDs for PN0710000 are:
Code:
HTC__001 --> HTC-WWE
HTC__016 --> VODA-Africa-South
HTC__032 --> HTC-EastEurope
HTC__102 --> HTC-GER
HTC__203 --> HTC-FRA
HTC__304 --> HTC-SPA
HTC__405 --> HTC-ITA
HTC__A07 --> HTC-Russia
HTC__E11 --> HTC-Dutch
HTC__J15 --> HTC-GCC
HTC__Y13 --> HTC-Nor
CID is changed using (only possible with S-off):
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001 <- two underscores
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Personally, I wouldn't go S-ON even if I wanted to sell the phone (maybe the next user wants to customize his phone), just look at your situation, if your phone wasn't S-OFF, you'd be majorly stuck (<- replace that word with whatever comes to mind )
but one thing is for sure, if I ever did want to go from S-Off to S-On, then I would only do it on hboot 1.44 or 1.54 (I believe you've read my guide, so you know the "tamper detected - rebooting" issue)

I would follow @nkk71 advice and change your MID to PN0710000 and your CID to HTC__001. After you do that then you need to download this International WWE RUU and the next update to Sense 6. By doing this your phone will be complete with matching MID, CID and OS. Stay on this version because it generally gets the OTA's quicker than the carrier version. There is no reason to go S-ON especially since your phone doesn't have a warranty!

[Q] Return to stock again, Q hboot

Hi,
So returning to stock again and Im planning on doing the following
Install the following zip as per video instructions on website.
Select option to include root
Then install this version of SuperSU >
Follow this guide to set the bootloader to LOCKED
Removed root from within SuperSu settings
Enter the following command via fastboot to go S-ON
./fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
However, when I completed this last year I was on hboot 1.54, now after upgrading a few times my setup is:

will the version-main and baseband also be downgraded when I use the Guru_Reset_M7_2.24.161.1.zip file ?
No the version main won't be downgraded with the guru reset file, that file is pretty much rom only, you need the firmware.zip file to do that, you also need it to downgrade your hboot, or an ruu, I've had a look and there is no ruu for Vodafone, however, there is some earlier ota's. You could try downloading those and pull firmware.zip from them, then manually flash that, firmware zip contains things like stock recovery, radio, hboot, partition layouts etc, try and get one which matches the number on the guru reset file, ie search for 2.24.161.xx firmware, flash that first, you will then need to put a custom recovery back on to run the guru reset file, during the installation, select wipe data, install stock recovery and install stock radio, once it's all done and booted at least once, only then lock your bootloader and s-on, be careful when going back s-on though, it's been known for the tampered flag to return, personally I would send it back s-off, high chance they wouldn't even notice.
Just one question, why do you want to root ?, if your returning to stock for warranty then skip that part completely, you won't need root.
You may be able to pull firmware.zip from this ota http://www.htc1guru.com/2013/10/vodafone-ota-2-24-161-1-added/

Nah you don't, on the guru reset site, there is a bootloader reset tool which you just run from custom recovery.
It will allow you to lock, relock, unlock the bootloader whilst s-off and also remove the tampered flag

The plan is to flash the firmware from 4-19-161-11, then run the guru reset for 2.24.161.1 and take the OTA's to bring it up to whatever it should currently be ?

Yu can't do that, the 4xxxxx firmware will contain too high a hboot for the otas to work, although the guru reset file will install, the otas will lead to a bootloop due to you already having a higher hboot

Right, I need someone to fix that link then, have posted it in the collection thread, hopefully someone fixes it
Right so decided Im short on time so will run the following after changing the cid to HTC__001
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...0-38r-1157-04l_release_353069_signed_2-1-exe/
This will downgrade the firmware and also flash the stock rom for htc europe.
Ill then need to change the recovery in order to run the following:
http://www.htc1guru.com/guides/guru-bootloader-reset/
then reflash stock recovery and finally remove s-off

[Q] Installing google play edition proving impossible

Hi I had been getting update notifications system upgrade on my HTC M7
Ändroid L Upgrade. I hope it would fix my device from forgetting wifi passwords..
When I pressed to install, it would got to recovery (then it was twrp) and fail, reboot back
After some investigation on this forums found it the problem was going from my software version LRX22c.H3 to LMY470 was not going to happen because it missed parts.
I tried stock recovery that failed with red exclamation mark
No problem I think Iwill download the full firmware 5.01 and install that following the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-google-play-edition-lollipop-v1-00-t2963927
But Having tried unsuccesfully now for 3 days I am asking for help.
The problems I have seem to be
1 HBoot 1.54 (to soff i thin i need to be on 1.55+
cid HTC__44 tried numers times to changeto 11111111 but I assume because s-on no joy
S-ON tried to soff firwalker gave up
currently on kernel 3.4.106-kangaroo-g3a212fc
baseband says 4a.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04D
yes I am very familiar with ADB Fastboot, CWm or TWRP (current bootloader)
Can anyone please suggest the correct path to get CID 1111111 on so that I beleive i can then flash over the firmware listed in http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-google-play-edition-lollipop-v1-00-t2963927, and then i can flash google rom
And am I correct in my assumptions?
Thanks everyone for you consideration an any help offered

You can't install ota update using a custom recovery, you must use the stock recovery that match your firmware version or that one provided in the ota update zip file.
After some investigation on this forums found it the problem was going from my software version LRX22c.H3 to LMY470 was not going to happen because it missed parts.
I tried stock recovery that failed with red exclamation mark

Its volume up than power button when already booted in recovery, when you see red triangle telling you that the ota update failed.

Your version-main is 2.24.707.3, its not a Google Play Edition phone, neither Android L version. You are running a custom rom right (a GPE rom)? You can't take ota updates if your version-main doesn't match your rom version.

You should achieve s-off and do a full conversion to GPE version if you want to use OTA updates. Achieve S-OFF with sunshine then change your CID to GOOGL001, your MID to PN0712000 and flash the latest GPE ruu.

Deleted OS with no backup (Solved)

Hello, guys. How you doing?
UPDATE: it's solved, i got back to stock rom after flashing this: https :// fl1.androidfilehost.com/dl/2k6GKx4IJOgIhD09zRzbzw/1441027324/95897840722641610/Reset_rom_6.07.1540.2.zip?
Now I'm going to do a BACKUP haha
I am with a HTC ONE M7 Internation/Unlocked Soft-Bricked, with no OS... Here are some information:
- Using TWRP 2.8.7.0 custom recovery for M7 (latest version)
- Unlocked bootloader
- Rooted (at least I did it before wipping my OS)
- S-ON!
- HBOOT v.1.57
- Already have ADB/Fastboot on my PC
- Modelid: PN0711000
- Cidnum: HTC__332
Here's my tale:
I tried to install RUU M7 Lollipop ROM, from HTC's website. But, at the very beggining of the instalation (4%), the RUU software said it lost my device. I did it while in fastboot mode, because it was the only way RUU recognized my phone. Then I could not install Lollipop ROM by RUU method, so I decided to flash a Lollipop ROM Unlocked Version for One M7.
I knew that for doing it I would need to install some custom recovery on my phone, unlock its bootloader mode and install on my PC ADB and Fastboot. I did all of this; the bootloader unlocked I did from HTC's website guide. So, I put on my phone a ROM in zip extension, boot it on recovery mode. I read that I should wipe data, cache, calvik cache and, maybe, system. And I did it... with NO BACKUP of original ROM --' I know I was stupid...
So I wipe this partitions, entered Install menu and tried to run instalation of the ROM zip file. It didn't work!!! Some error: "E: error executing updater binary in zip..." And I tried to flash different ROMs, all of them showed this error...
Then now I am with a Soft-Bricked HTC ONE M7 which has no OS. Some pics of my status: https: // w w w .dropbox.com/s/ruyen2ikn0u5i0u/Soft-Bricked%20M7.rar?dl=0
I hope you can help me
Please, help me :crying:

There is not much available for 6.15.599.101 version, you'll probably need to use custom roms or convert to another version. There is a 6.15.599.101 ruu available at irfile.com but you will need an acount to download it (paid account) http://www.ir-file.com/portal/index.php?dir=Firmware/HTC/HTC_Android/M7_U/

Oh, thanks :/
So, what is the best path to follow to get Lollipop? Should I pay 25 bucks for Sunshine, change my CID and try to flash correct Lollipop rom? Is there another way to get Lollipop rather that one?
Are there so many new and interesting features on Lollipop or should I stay on KitKat 4.4.3? I don't know so many custom good roms; can you recommend me some?
Sorry for asking so much questions. I know, probably I'm bothering you '-'
PS: Now my system asks for an OTA update to Lollipop, but it's not possible... Probably due to what you said about my flashed rom being Developer edition's one.

Either pay for sunshine so you can change your CID / MID to convert your phone to another version using a lollipop RUU or pay for an account at ir-file.com so you can download the .599 ruu and then take all ota updates.

Many ppl likes lollipop and probably as many ppl doesn't like it. I think its better to try it yourself and see what you prefer. Some ppl likes the new features and other ones are complaining about battery drain and lags.

All custom roms are good, it all depends what features you need. The best you can do is to read some rom threads and choose one that fit what you need, try it a few days and if not liking it, flash another one. If you want good battery life and no lag, I would recommend GPE roms, if you need what HTC Sense have to offer, then choose a Sense based rom like ARHD, Maximus, InsertCoin, NuSense ....

Because your CID and MID doesn't match the rom version you have flashed. Developer edition is for CID BS_US001 and MID PN0712000, yours is HTC__332 and PN0711000, In order to receive ota updates, you must be 100% stock either be flashing the .599 ruu for HTC__332 / PN0711000 or by achieving s-off, changing your CID / MID and flashing another version ruu e.g: changing your cid to BS_US001, your MID to PN0712000 and flashing a dev edition (.1540) RUU.

I was reading about Android Revolution HD, it seems good. I really like Blinkfeed (Highlights) so I guess I wouldn't flash a ROM which doesn't have it. I think ARHD got Blinkfeed, right?
Can I flash this ROM on my phone? As far as you know about my specs.
