Hey, I've got a problem with my SP and want to repair it with PC Companion which, you know, only works with phones with locked bootloader. My phone's bootloader is unlocked. I read the post from DooMLoRD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2354721&highlight=relock+bootloader
I'm on the SP DoomKernel v3 and I know, that I have to flash back the stock kernel, if I want to relock my bootloader. I think the (or a) stock kernel is that one: http://d-h.st/fv8
But DooMLoRD mentioned in his post, not to take the FTF file but the kernel.sin and I don't know how to extract it or from where I can get it.
Please help!
Avoid PC Companion or Update Service. Just turn off your phone and use Flashtool to flash any .ftf you want. After flashing everything stock, turn on the phone for a few minutes, then turn it off and relock the bootloader.

Okay, but the link to the Download page of the .ftf is stock, isn't it? And why shall I avoid PC Companion and SUS? my Phone apk is broken I need to repair it. Or is there an other possibility even for unlocked bootloader? I mean I only want to lock it because I want to repair. Or should the problem go if I flash a custom ROM?
If you are having a problem with an specific .apk try to diagnose why it is force closing or not working properly. Try clearing the app's data and wipe cache and dalvik cache from recovery. If the problem persist try a factory reset...if nothing solves the problem you may need to reinstall that ROM
In case of a bootloop Use any .ftf from a C5303,02 or 06...It will resurrect your dead phone. I have the stock firmware for the C5303. Its o2 branded but it works great, It has File Comander pre-installed and all Sony bloatware you could ever want. I love it! Download it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/nm8c4nwb7sxdblt/C5303_12.0.A.2.254_o2.ftf
If you dont like the boot animation or shut down animation you will need to root. Shut down animation is located on system/vendor/overlay. Search for
com.sonyericsson.shutdownanim-res.apk and delete it.
UNLOCKED PHONES CAN'T USE PC COMPANION OR UPDATE SERVICE. And even trying an Update OTA it may brick the phone.
Hmm.. I tried all those things but reinstall rom. But how can I reinstall the rom? I haven't got any nandroid (or other) backup before the phone apk broke. And in development section there is only the deodexed stock rom 12.0.A.2.254 and the odexed stock ROM 12.0.A.2.245. Which one of them is the right one?
Okay. I already have had a bootloop, caused by restoring an system backup, and solved it myself.
Yes, I got the advice to relock bootloader and repair with PC Companion. But if there is a possibility to solve the problem without relocking bootloader this would be really really great!
Reinstall a recovery or use doomlord's kernel (custom kernels like doomlord's have a recovery)
Reinstall any ROM you want or use flashtool to repair your phone. This will erase everything but the external microSD card.
Flashool works with locked or unlocked bootloaders.
Thank you! That helped me I'll try it very soon

Hi there!
I installed a Chainfire program, and now my Xperia have a bootloop
How can I turn on my phone? Can I flash a recovery and wipe all data, and then flash back stock kernel?
Plz help mee!
Ok, so I flashed recovery, turn it on, wipe all data, and phone still have bootloop. I don't have any idea, what can I do to flash clean stock sony firmware
Sony Update Service doesn't work. It tell me, that I have modded firmware
relock your bootloader, then use sony update service again
Ok, so how can I relock bootloader, and can I unlock it after?
Dude no need for all that. Just download Flash tool and generic Xperia ftf file. Then switch off your cell phone and press the volume down key and insert the usb while on Flash tool it will install the adb drivers if not then navigate into the flash tool folder and then you'll find a folder named drivers install the drivers from that setup proceeding ahead you should see a green led light now click on the flash button above and select flash tool and navigate it to the ftf file you just downloaded. It will install the generic rom but will remove your root access. No need to lock the boot loader. Welcome if this helped and tell me if I'm wrong

Damn working! Thanks!!!
BTW. Is there any website with ftf firmwares? Like samfirmwares for samsung devices?
AW: XPERIA Bootloop
No there is not.
Next time try EMMA if you want to reload your stock firmware. EMMA works with unlocked bootloaders (only).
:crying:Hello I buy an Xperia SP, it works fine for 2 minutes and when I open settings it closes randomly every time I try open it, the same result when I try with other apps and in the notifications appears the message "bug report failed no new crash data in dropbox" and sometimes the phone freezes and reboot.
I try update with PC Companion, with SUS (in this i can't find the SP in the list), Rooting and removing all the apps that crashes, using speedydroid to remove bloatware, uninstall apps provided by the carrier, change the rom for eXistenZ and the problem remains.
I was trying to find a clean stock ROM for this phone with no luck
My phone is this:
Xperia SP c5306
Locked bootloader
ROM 4.1.2 12.0.A.2.254 Telcel
Hope someone can help me or say if it's software problem or hardware problem
Reflash stockrom with flashtool. It looks like some apps or files are either damaged or removed or something.
I flash stock firmware... again and the problem persist

You rooted your device? Or how did you manage to flash existenz rom? It's kinda strange it works only 2 minutes after your purchase and you still manage to get root and install CWM to flash existenz rom
Further, what SUS version are you using? Mine shows the SP and is able to perform a repair

Jaja in the time the phone works fine I have enough time to root, then reboot and install cwm, and enter in CWM,, the recovery works fine, and flash the ROM.
My SUS version is 2.13.14.201312091927 and it dosn't appear, please send me your SUS installer an I check it.

Should be this one. http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
If that one don't work, maybe use the dutch version http://www.sonymobile.com/nl/tools/update-service/ -> that's the one I used
I think it maybe a bad rom -non stable-
Or sometimes its the rooting process.
However
Using sony flash tool
Unlock boot loader
Flash stock rom
Root device
Hello i succesfuly flashed AOPK kitkat rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577191
And before that i succesfuly again flashed this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581531
All that having and unlocked bootloader.
But now i want to go stock again (i dont want to lock the bootloader but i wont mind if it gets locked).
So when i tried SUS it said i have custom software installed in the device (duh) but i cant find a way to reset the phone to factory state.
Please help so i can run 4.1.2 rooted again.
If you made a nandroid backup before flashing the ROM, just restore it. I would always recommend doing this, when flashing anything. If not try repairing with FlashTool.
Good luck

Use flashtool to flash a stock .ftf. You can unlock and lock the bootloader with flashtool. If you are on a unlocked bootloader you wont be able to update via pc companion or update service

Nevermind i have the solution guys thank you so i followed these steps.
1) i flashed a stock based rom
2) flashed stock kernel
3) relocked bootloader
4) used SUS to repair my phone (stock rom &kernel)
5) followed the procedure to root the phone
6)Done
Does anyone have a flashable zip of the stock ROM for the Z1S? I must have flashed a bad zip or something because I'm boot looping and I was stupid and didn't make a backup.
Repair using Pccompanion or flash a stock FTF
Yeah, I do know that's an option but I wanted to avoid wiping my internal memory if at all possible. Thanks for the tip though!
Flash a stock FTF and just untick the wipe data option then...
Or back it up first....
Oh duh. For some reason I was on the line of thinking of ODIN where that wasn't option. I'm a little new to the Sony flash tool. Thanks for your help.
Its not the sony flash tool, that is called EMMA and only works with unlocked bootloaders
Use the original flashtool from
flashtool.net
It was developed here on xda and works with all xperia devices regardless of bootloader status
So im currently rooted running cm11. I really dont like it and want to go back to stock. When I unlocked my bootloader I saved my TA partition rar file which I have stored on my pc. I am quite familiar using flashtool but not that much.
In other words I want to:
1) Lock my bootloader
2) Go back to stock sony firmware
Please help me thanks
p.s if it's worth staying rooted what rom should I install? cm11 is kinda rubbish...
Flashtool will relock your boot loader and reset to stock
My flashtools not display the button "relock" after clicking "BLU", how to proceed?
Here's my solution:
Relock your TA with TA Backup from the previously saved zip file. It doesn't matter what system you use under the procedure, but remember. If you use CM11 (or any non-stock based system) do not try to power on your phone before you flash the stock firmware with Flashtool. Otherwise you can soft brick the device, or if you lucky, you will get only bootloop. And two more thing: Before you start, charge your phone's battery to minimum 50 percent, and before you really start the backup, test it with "Restore dry-run" option. If it sucsess, you can do the trick. But if it fail, re-flash a stock KitKat based ROM, root it, and try this again. If it fails again, maybe your backup file is corrupted.
This method worked on my old SL, and on my Z too, so I hope it will be help to you too.

You don't need to relock bootloader to flash a stock based custom ROM. You can flash rajeevs purexz rom via recovery after wiping system and data partitions.
Locked bootloader is only needed for some Sony stuff like Bravia engine and stock Sony screen mirroring.
