I had this a while back on my phone. Only bad thing is that anyone can just search you on Facebook or Google+ and they have access through your profile picture.

if you go to the portal on xda you should find they did an artical on the app and its ok not all perfect and if u just hold a printed picture of the person who is needed than u can still get in pointless at that point theory behind it is good
Lol yeah but who going to have a picture of your face? Especially if it at the spur of the moment lol

My take is as long as your old lady isn't frequenting this thread she's not likely to get past it to your text messages its not a govnt retina scanner but it def keeps most people out. Even if you left your phone somewhere it would be more than enough security to someone who doesn't know what you look like

cool, but PIN/password/pattern lock is a lot more practical in my view...
Awesome app, my gf will never get in now!! with the pattern and pin, she is good at watching me open it when in the car or something like that and then i see her later playin with it. and i don't think she will be smart enough(lol) to figure out she needs to put a photo to open it.
From Google's press release / blog post today:
With Android 4.2, you can add multiple users and switch between them instantly right from the lockscreen. We believe that everyone should have quick and easy access to their own stuff -- email, apps, bookmarks, and more. That way, everyone can have their own home screens, their own music, and even their own high scores.

This will solve one of my greatest complaints -- my only complaint, actually -- about the Nexus-7. I have to go to lengths to be able to hand my tablet to anyone else to use while still protecting my privacy. It galls me that not only do I have to lock down the Gmail app before handing over my N7, I have to lock down Chrome too, because Chrome will either automatically log into my account when Chrome visits mail.google.com (aka gmail.com) or will offer to do so. Same for all other Google sites (e.g. Google+). I hate that. Once JB 4.2 is on my N7, that will no longer be a concern.
This is pretty nice; although I don't let anyone else really touch or use my Nexus 7
When would they start 4.2 OTA for N7?? Nov 13 or earlier?
This would be nice.
My nexus is used as a family tablet & i'm reluctant to add my google account.
I'd like all of the goodies from the store from my account but don't want my gmail on there as the wife would go mental if she looked through all of my reciepts!
Yeah any word on 4.2 update?

My kids will be excited the most! High scores and level progress is a hot topic around my house.

Can you make other accounts limited users? As in, no you can uninstall half the apps I have installed. I launch a file manager and go snooping around other account directories.
I though the update was today... i immediately checked for updates on my device as soon as I saw 4.2

I would actually let other people use my tablet with this!
This is huge... We're beginning to roll out Nexus 7's in select areas of work (K-12 public school district) to students with special needs and/or classes who can benefit from these devices. It would be awesome to have multiple accounts, ESPECIALLY if we can lock it down. I'd love to hand the Nexus 7 out to elementary students knowing that the icons cannot be deleted, etc. Any word on the degree of limits, if any, you can assign other users?
Should be good, chromebooks do this well already , log in and have all your ****, themes, bookmarks, logins/ passwords, apps, Google drive etc all separate and personalised. Even downloads are in a user specified area, available to just that user. simple old idea, but effectively done.

I'm sure it'll have some sort of administrtive rights to it
I share my Nexus 7 with my daughter - and it is actually quite hard getting it away from her.
Separate log ins and sign on's will make everything a lot more convenient - except the physical part of getting it back...
Now she can have the screens the way she wants.

My friends, I'm thinking that I really need a tablet to complement my SGN2. I don't want to close any option before I hear from you. I'm an advance user, and I'm looking for something that really gives me more that my sgn2. I used to have an iPad I sold it because only my children were using it to play around, but since the anounncement that office 365 was out in USA, I'm thinking to get me an iPad mini. Another choice might be an w8 tablet, since I want it only to get my job done (lots of reports and presentation, microsoft dominates my working environment). I was thinking also to let go my SGN2, get an HTC one and buy a note 10'. What do you think?? Please help me out here.

Or wait a month or two for a probable announcement of the next Nexus 7 Unless you need something bigger in which case a new Nexus 10 should make it's way to announcement soon as well~
wait for the new N7 or N10
if you're getting an android tablet might aswell be a nexus

But what do you think of the other tablets?, I want it to use it on my job, advance tools for powerpoint and advance tools for excell... on Android I can't seems to find somethingh as powerfull as the office suite.
I've allready have an apple account with several software bought, maybe w8 is a good choice but it's a new system and just to have to buy all over again just doesn't seems right.

It's a work based tablet. You shouldn't be buying a tablet for work though
I am using galaxy note 8.0 and HTC one. You just can't get wrong with the combination.
I used S4 which I think was really laggy and half of the memory was taken by Samsung apps.HTC one get the dev edition from HTC USA online store.
It is amazing piece of equipment.

Sure, I'll use it only when I feel creative. I also have an Lenovo X220 Tablet and is really to big and heavy to carry arround. That's my main working device, but on the go, sometimes y feell that my SGN2 just doesn't help me all the way. I'll take a look at that Dell. thank you!!

Seems as Nexus owners we're not the first to get the update this time. It could turn out to be an elaborate fake but probably genuine as Google are an experimenting company and have released two flagship devices with a vanilla Android option (although they're not "nexus"). From what I've read there doesn't appear to be any big changes (if any actually visible) and more fixes/optimisations.

Flashed it on my GS4 and working like a charm (and it's the international version of course). No root yet, so i'll switch back to 4.2.2 to get my apps lol (can't restore through TB Pro duh).
It's just a leak so don't worry about it. The Nexus devices will definitely get the 4.3 first.

Cool, I'm another few months away from a handset upgrade and so it definitely makes these phones an even better proposition, having access to stock android goodness. Was impressed seeing how quickly someone had put a vanilla 4.2.2 ROM together for the HTC One, then seen this and was very surprised.
Its good to see really as it shows that Google and the handset makers are finally getting why people like android so much and that is the option of choice and customisation. It may not be the exact reason for doing so but they must be conscious of it. As the last I/O conference showed, it was very developer orientated

Majority of what is updated won't be frontend. Just additions to the internal workings of android. Maybe some slimmed down code for some Google system apps and such.

What else have you seen though? After you install Null there are a few apps out there that you can install, but a lot of them are not built for the screen/keyboard on the watch, so you might not use them much.
It would be useful to install a custom ROM so you can tinker with it, but it's not like it's going to open the flood gates for you when it comes to custom apps
I work in the city BTW (near the ferry) but I won't be back in the office until next week. I can probably walk you through it though, it's really not that hard.
