Gear + Note 3 = call recording? - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Has anyone been able to record a phone call while using Galaxy Gear as speaker and mic? I've been only able to record my voice, but not the other person who I'm calling to..

Not Possible with the gear, However you can use your phone to record the call, but it requires add-on, (Don't remember what its called, I am using an international rom and it has it built into the phone dialer.
Edit: Try this app in google play: Galaxy Call Recorder

I use Galaxy S3/S4 Call Recorder by Killer mobile, it will record the other person clear as but not you if using the watches bluetooth, I only got the watch yesterday so have not done a lot of test. see if this will work on the note. I just wish you could accept to keep the recording or delete it from the watch when on auto recording.

Does any call recording software works on the Kaiser ?

Hi,
Can you please test and see if the phone is hardware limited to record the voice of the other person on a call like many other HTC PPC phones.
Software like:
VITO AudioNotes v1.3
Resco Audio Recorder 4 betas
LivePvr
PM Recorder
or even with the build-in Windows Notes.

but does it record the call partner voice too?
I know it was possible to record the whole conversation only on smarphone because of an hardware limitation in pocket pc instead smartphone.
Thats also very important for my decision whether to buy the Kaiser or not!
Anybody - please check and post... (would be perfect if somebody could make and record a short test call and attach it here )
Thanks a lot!

yes, vito audio notes records the other person's voice too. you can just record whenever, or have it automaticly record when u make or recieve a call. it has different settings of sound quality too.

I know they say that it works, but actually it doesn't for all newer HTC Pocket PCs - that's why we are asking. Anybody here who really tried it and can attach a test call (without loudspeakers turned on!)?

well, you can see if you do some research - it's a hardware limitation as the phone audio system is not fully integrated into the Windows Mobile audio system...
This is also a feature i would like to see!
There is talk about utilising the Bluetooth Stack to record the call (both ends) but i dont know how far along it is.
Its really frustrating that the PPC phone edition isnt smarter than the 'Smartphones' that can record both ends!
Perhaps we should actually look at this a little differently.
The PPC recorders all seem to record via the mic, but how about a recorder that can record only the audio sent to the speaker! (Thus recording the other person!)

The PPC recorders record via the mic because recording the audio sent to the speaker doesnt work, that is the limitation everybody is talking about. This audio routing is handled in hardware itself and software is not able to tap it in between...

Hi Shantzg001,
I realise they dont record both, but i am suggesting that it would be great to find something that can only record the speaker, not the mic. Just as if you wanted to record streaming music. (that doesnt record from the mic).
I havent found anything yet that can do this but it could just be the search terms im using.
I can confirm that unless you use the speakerphone that Vito Audio Notes, as was supsected, records only the microphone (your own voice, not the other party of the call)of the phone conversation. Also the "auto record" for phone calls does not work when activated either.
Try Resco Audio Recorder, it has trial version for sure.
Some people said it works.
I tried it - you don't hear the other side of the call on the recording unless you use the speaker.
Damn
I really missed this feature (phone recording).
I hope there is a registry setting "EnablePhoneRecording" or something like that.
Do you think this is hardware limitation? Or application issue? or OS? ... hard to guess.

Good Conversation Recorder for HTC Phones??

Hi
Have been using Resco Audio recorder and Vito Audio Notes to record phone conversation but in both the softwares i could only here my voice clearly and the other persons voice is not audible at all. I have faced this problem on ALL HTC DEVICES but the same software worked amazing on XDA Xing and ATOM. cam someone help me here as to what settings to change or what software to use for proper recording.
Thanks
all of these programs will record if the phone is on speaker.
read the documentations, as some phone do not provide duplex conversations, or something like that.
once you set the call on speaker, all works fine, but it's kind of inconvenient.
yea if i remember correctly, it has something to do with the way that the voice calling was implemented in the device that it will only record your voice.
straight from resco.net from the audio recorder page:
(Both sides recording is hardware dependent. If your recording contains voice of one side only, it is not due to the program's failure.)
On my old PPC6700 mine worked fine with the call volume all the way high, The other person sounded a bit low, but if you want you can edit the call on a PC and make them louder. It all depends how often do you plan to record your convos.
I'm recording both sides without speaker or any other hazzle...
This is what I've done:

Do you really intend to unbury every 1+ year old topic on that subject? I think people got it by now. Make ONE thread with full relevant info, that will do it.

Need a Call Recorder for windows mobile

I have the Sony x1.
I always find myself wishing I had recorded calls.
Is there a way to have your phone automatically record all calls.
If it was just a stand alone program that needed to be activated each time I think would forget.
Try this:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-acr-auto-call-recorder.html
Same as above:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536472
It only works one way though...
The X1 has call recording built-in through the Notes app (also accesible through the phone dialer. Once in the Notes app, go to Menu->Use Recording Toolbar. You can record the conversation while writing into the notes app. It's unfortunate SE didn't integrate this better into the dialer app.
You can record both sides of the conversation if you use speakerphone only. Using the handset, it will only record yourself and the other end will be inaudible. I believe this is some hard limitation in the design of the phone and not something that can be overcome by software.
EDIT: Ooops, I see you want calls recorded automatically...Notes doesn't do that
How do I access the feature through the phone dialer.
If you are using the built-in SE dialer, it is the icon that looks like a sticky note with a tack through it. Pressing that will load the Notes app with the number you are dialing already inserted. From there, just follow the instructions in my previous post.
I believe once a call is initiated, you can still run notes the traditional way (Start Menu->Notes) and achieve the same thing if you have a different dialer you are using.
This functionality with notes is cute, but it only record some 30 seconds. How can I change it. Through regedit or?
One more thing: The loudness of person that I called on recording is miserable... My voice is lot louder... how can I fix this?

As stated in my first post, you have to use speakerphone to get a usable record volume from the other caller. This is inherent in the X1 design.
I don't understand why some phones have this limitation and others don't. My old Moto v60 could record both ends of the phone call perfectly without any fuss.

Look at Resco Audio Recorder.
I have tried many programs and none work perfectly so here is what i did to get perfect results:
Plug your xperia into the "Line in" port on your computer using a male to male 3.5 mm audio cable - after that i used a program like Audacity to record the call.
It records your voice and the person you are speaking to with perfect results.
^^^ That's clever, but how do you fit your computer in your pocket?

How to make call from Note 3 and not have it go through Galaxy Gear watch?

Anyone know How to make a call from the Note 3 and not have it go through Galaxy Gear watch? Iam not sure if its possible. If I start a call from my phone I want to use my phone for the call.

The call unfortunately goes through the watch. Annoying
If you initiate a call from the phone, it should only transfer when you hit the headset button on the screen... might want to reset the Gear and re pair it...
Or turn off Bluetooth and it won't go through gear.

Something isn't setup right if your calls are going to the watch by default. The only calls that go to my watch are calls started on the watch, calls answered from the watch, or calls transferred to the watch after they have started. Calls made on the phone stay on the phone unless I specifically send them to the watch. Are you sure you don't have the watch set to act as a wireless headset full time?

I dunno if this is your problem but I had a problem one time with some phone where the button you push to transfer the call to blue tooth was always on. Every time I made a call I had to take the phone off Bluetooth. I don't have my note 3 yet so can't tell you how to do it but in the phone app look for the headset button. On my note 2 it is right the on the main screen during a call
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2
I have the same issue w my
Gear
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
Are you guys using a Note 3? The problem you are describing happens with my S4 when it's paired to the Gear but never happens paired to the Note 3.
I think that's what it's supposed to be because mine goes thru the Gear as well. Still fiddling with my phone's settings... but just hit the green-lit Headset icon then it's good to go.
When I get a call, both the Note 3 and the Gear show an incoming call. It is up to me to swipe on the Gear or the Note to answer the call and continue the call on whichever one I swiped to accept the call.
Ian B
If I initiate my call from the phone, it stays on the phone.
If I initiate my call from the watch, it stays on the watch until I transfer.
The same thing is true about receiving the call. It's working as expected.

... Oh, and it's an S4 not a Note 3, FWIW...
how should be the game if you have a bluetooth headset/ car bluetooth either doing a call or receiving one?

Hi, I'm considering on buying galaxy gear
So what if I pair galaxy gear and bluetooth headset simultaneously on Note3
If I initiate my call from phone, Can I talk on bluetooth headset right away or do I have to do something on gear first?
and if I have incoming call, Can I push the answer button on my bluetooth headset and have a conversation or do I have to answer from the gear and transfer to my bluetooth headset?
Really need to know these information before deciding whether to purchase or not.
Many Thanks in advance

Call Recording on CM13?

I've recently upgraded my Nexus 6 to CM13. It seems that's hosed the ability to record calls.
I've tried ACR premium which worked fine on my other device, but not the N6.
BoldBeast doesn't work - it either crashes on hang up or just records from the mic. Have chatted with the (very patient and helpful) developer and tried all the various options.
Skvalex Call Recorder just records silence.
Total ReCall only records from the mic - even if using the root recording option.
So, has anyone successfully recorded 2 way audio on CM13 for the N6?
Thanks
Have just tried Jit Call Recorder - also microphone only. Bonus feature of rebooting my phone halfway through a call...
It has always been a hell
If you ever find a working one please do let us know.
I would also like this.
Get call recorder by skvalex. I have tried them all and this is the only one that works correctly. I have been using it for over a year for a court battle., it uploads all of your calls to the cloud you select. Yes it costs a bit of money, but he has put a lot of work, and every feature there is. He has a lot of information in his thread on xda also.
